Hey Guys, for those confused at the beginning .. Mark Kerns (Who played a role in Star Craft and is pretty well known) tweeted that he'd be interested in a lore video on Starcraft.. so I made a joke on it.. hopefully he gets my humors ;P Anyway, enjoy!
Woo! Space Australia FTW! What about the Umojans and Kel Morians? I've always been fascinated by those guys (since they're the independent powers in Korprulu, or were.)
Ah, Space Aus. That's me home planet You're from Australia? Space Australia. Or more specifically, Space Brisbane. Go Space Broncos! Gotta be careful though. Space Dingos will eat your space babies...poor Shela
There's a weird hole in the lore community (at least in so far as I'm aware) for StarCraft lore. Being a long time fan of the series, I would love to see more videos. Of course if anyone has recommendations for other videos, I'd be happy to be made aware of them.
I mean I could see the Confederacy and the Koprulu sector as being some random backwater on the edge of the Imperium. They just got sort of forgotten because the adept responsible for filing the right forms died or something and now are just waiting for an explorator fleet to stumble upon them again.
@@James-ep2bx The zerg could very well be the early scouts of a hive fleet. The Protoss however can't really be related to the Tau, they are just something new that the Imperium will clean up when it's got the time.
Also I think you would find Warcraft lore very interesting. (preWOW / WC 1-3) Too this day WC3 is and has been my favorite game. The lore is actually very well documented, well crafted, and in my opinion relatively contradiction free( so long as you ignore everything after WC3: Frozen Throne).
I like how a large group was exiled from Earth, and a group took hold in the colonies called themselves the Confederacy. Judging by the fact that everyone has a southern accent, you can kind of deduce that people in the south of the future USA, or whoever occupied it, rose up as the second Confederacy. Apparently they got their butt kicked and were sent as colonists to far away planets. Know what I am saying? Its kinda funny!
Starcraft... Now there is a franchise I have unfortunately not become well acquainted with. There are way too many interesting sci fi universes... My brain only has so much space
Well the confederacy were run by many wealthy ortarchs. And it had one of the most powerful Telepaths Nova Terra( who was 12 at the fall of the Confederacy and is a Psi level 10 telepath and has telekenetic ability). Though why did Blizzard cancel her 3rd /1st person stealth game yet have the audacity to use her model as a skin for Widowmaker in overwatch.
What do you mean by failed? The UED is still alive and more powerful than ever. The expeditionary force was basically little more than an exploration fleet.
Can't wait for more. StarCraft has quite a bit of lore. And the Confederacy was built to fail. How they handled everything got their capitol world completely invested by the Zerg. What's more us the Kel Morian Combine and Umoja Protectorate were separate factions from the Confederacy, founded around the same time as the Confederacy.
This was interesting. Never played StarCraft, so I didn’t really know anything about the lore. It was a good - and informative - video, to be certain. Would you ever consider delving into the lore of Stargate: SG-1? It’s a fun universe, and I’m honestly curious how a breakdown of, for example, a Goa’uld mothership would go. ^_^
i'm really glad that you finally got into StarCraft lore :D that's amazing, heheh, and now i have one more question: How do i get outta shit chickensh** outfit? XD
Don't get me wrong I love 40k but when they say they are stuck in a spiraling further and further into a Dark Age, they mean it. They struggle to produce their more 'advanced' technologies and have replaced so many links in both the production and operation of said technology with literal slave labour. There is no way they could contest a species also possesses a Galactic empire but retains the know-how and resources to build entire worlds from scratch. Now I know why you suggested this as there are limited elements in the Imperium in the 41st millennium that would Roflstomp literally anything the Forerunners could pull out e.g. Ark Mechanicus Speranza, leftovers from the dark age of technology. Further Astartes are also extremely potent warriors equipped with the best humanity the Admech is willing to part with however in both cases they do not represent a sustainable way to combat the threat. There is so little understanding of the Speranza and any similar vessels that they physically cannot be employed with any reliability much less be used to fight a war. As for the Astartes? Well the Astartes have to make it planetside to have an effect and if Mechanicus fleets are finding themselves hard-pressed then you can bet the Astartes are being annihilated en-route. The technological gap is just to great to over come when the relative scale of the empires are so similar.
Their called the Terran Confederacy because they are Terrans not Humans. In SC Universe this means they are genetically modified humans. The UPL which became the UED (Earth's ruling government) decided that genetic engineering was a terrible idea and they rounded up all the "mutants" and sent them to build a colony. The mutants and other prisoners sent to build the colony were sent with databases on each ship that contained all of Earth's knowledge. 3/4 of the ships successfully crash landed but all on separate planets. Taking the information from the database of Earths history they called their government the Confederacy because they were supposedly a loosely organized democracy of (originally) 3 planets
I think the final cinematic of the Terran campaign about Mengks'a speech says it all. He is preaching peace among world and humans yet we see his forces completely massacre the remains of the confederates from battlecruisers to just transport ships probably full of people. It is a propaganda piece that shows you exactly the kind of leader Mengks is. Just as bad as the Confederates except that they actually learned how to fight the zerg while Mengks was only learning how to make worse monsters.
Terran Confederacy: What happens if money and politics stay married (rich people in control, even if it is behind the scenes) as humans expand outside of Earth.
People need to get over being offended by the confederate battle flag. It is a good design, and looks awesome. And it totally makes sense for a government formed from primarily white southern American convicts from a dystopian Earth would identify with it.
So you joke about Australia in space, but get all worked up about a fictional faction employing a Confederate flag? Do you just not understand how racism works?
It was democraticd after a fashion even though it was limited unlike the Dominion that was little more than an absolutist monarchy... And the UED that seemed to be little more than Nazi/Pinko-wannabee imperialism... The Confederacy of Man was for all its faults better than the Dominion...
If you are gonna do lore on this 2-bit knock-off, do some lore on the actual franchise microsoft coppied off of. Maybe a completion on 40k Battleships please?
Yes, he should also do lore on other ripoffs of other franchises like 40K which ripped off Aliens and Starship troopers (the book) or Halo which ripped off StarCraft and etc. Lmao.

Love Starcraft, played it for years and still love rushing unprepared Confederates with my beautiful swarms
I would 100% love more Starcraft Lore stuff
yes more
Wait, somebody is actually doing StarCraft lore!?! Am I dreaming!?! Finally the amazing lore is getting some recognition!
Space Australia, Don't let a space dingo steal your space baby
Zergling = space dingo
I am more concerned about them stealing my space dollarydoos.
Ghost Program recruiter= Space Dingo.
I always go to Spacey's "Real food, in space"

Nuclear launch detected.
I've spent countless hours on the original game + the BroodWar expansion. One of the greatest RTS sci-fi fanchises ever.
