- Shot on the slimmest of budgets, Dark Path VFX brings you a slice of fan-fiction derived from the rich universe that Creative Assembly has created for Alien: Isolation. Our goal was to represent the various different elements you encounter while traversing the station and ultimately, what that would look like in live action.

Excellent fan-film. The acting, the lighting, the eeriness, the Xenomorph not being fully shown... it all worked. Once again, great job.

Well made and well acted. Great job. I like how the alien isnt fully shown to create a more authentic horror feel.

That was really scary! But what you should have done was when she was trying to access the terminal have a Working Joe show up! Omg that would have been so damn creepy! I love The Alien(Xenomorphs) but they did an amazing job with The Androids In the game!! I give it 9/10!

I think I may have set a few speed records with the password typing in this game...I don't think I was ever more paranoid then playing this with surround-sound at night.. this was the true stuff of nightmares..
So....no one is talking about what an evil checkmate that was!?!? Oh man! The comm voice got a 2fer. O2 back online and a pain-in-the-arse blown right out the airlock! Good story, good acting, good DIRECTING!

The lighting was just like the game and I felt the tension in this film so that was perfect!
I'm just wondering where did you get the xenomorph cgi or did you make it on blender or something?
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it. The Xeno was actually 100% practical effect. The head was purchased online from a costume retailer and we put together a basic body from the waist up (although you don't see much).

VictoryCandyStudios We purchased the head from Amazon.com. They have good "hands/claws" as well. If you're intent on a full body costume, you'll have to make it. There are several great tutorials from cosplayers youtube. Good hunting!

Thanks for the compliment Brandon Yates - we did as much as we could given the limited time and budget available for the project. It was shot on a CanonXF105 @30fps.

ah i am all too familiar with the whole limited time and budget haha but for future i'd recommend shooting all 24fps. It kinda looks documentary'ish if it shot on 30. does that make sense?
Nicely done! The only thing I'd have done different is shoot it in 23.976FPS instead of what appears to be 29.97 so you can get that traditional movie feel.

Thank you for the compliment Tasuva - that was 100% practical set. We always prefer to build a practical environment (when feasible) and use cg and green screen elements to enhance the "real".

We used the alien costume headpiece - cardboard cutout would probably have achieved the same results though haha. Thanks for giving one of our early vids a watch
Gonna be honest, but there were very few moments I was actually on the edge of my seat. And honestly, there really wasnt a whole lot of "alien" to this. If she was killed, a host for another alien, or if she somehow escaped from the thing only for the alien to actually be on that escape pod (if there is one), then I'd give this a thumbs up. Otherwise, I'm not even gonna give it a thumbs up, but not a thumbs down.
I subbed because I saw you guys are in Las Vegas and I’m not but I wish I was so I’m gonna live vicariously through this subscription also I really dig the video but it was the Vegas thing that got me😎

Personally its great. what is the framerate? I would consider lowering it to around 20ish.
Its 30fps - was having difficulty in 24fps due to the strobe lights we had going. We agree though - would have looked better in the classic 24.

Holy shoot, guys! I think this film understands the dread of the Alien and its universe better than Ridley himself with "Alien Covenant." The lighting and sound totally sell the film, and the actress is great for this part! You guys gave me the same chills I got in the game itself!

Cool concept but you kind of do no sells on everything. Just some similar graphics and a vaguely resembling interior that was too dark for us to see anything. I know you couldnt show the alien but more was needed to really make this stand out. Good effort though
And what do you know, a story where a young white female is the heroine, and a white male is the adversary who wants to get her killed. That is so refreshing , original and unexpected:-)

I don't know if you're trying to make a movie based on Alien Isolation you would have it match the game not make something up with the logo Alien Isolation attached. I actually don't support creative license or artists portrayal if it isn't exact.
