GX460, aka Land Cruiser Prado, all day. There’s a reason why these are popular in the Middle East and Asia. They can make it through rough terrain for decades with just basic maintenance.
Decades in rough terrain? No. Decades driving, maybe. There's a reason for aftermarket parts for them, they break too when put on hard trails.
@@Brian-og4uu Maybe parts availability in small markets. Pretty scarce availability in Eurozone and USA.
That “clicking” noise would be the transfer case. No bueno.
Great video and comparison highlights. As an 08 Cayenne S owner for the past 2 years. I must say I am in love with this truck as it is my first off-roader. And speaking from a military point of view driving things from HUMVEE’s, Duce & 1/2’s (yes I am old school in the Army), tanks and APC ‘s (armed personnel carrier). I love my Cayenne.
Cayenne had an offroad package that included sway bar disconnect which would allow it to flex much more
that will make it even more of a beast off road for sure!
@@4WDisLifeall GX460 have that standard
Lexus all the way
Very unique comparison!
Also looking for an answer to the clicking noise coming from the Cayenne. It seems to happen to a lot of Cayennes. Really nice comparison video btw thx
that indeed is a very weird noise, I almost thought there’s something in the rear diff but then not it doesn’t even have a rear locker, could be something to do with 4low? Just speculating.
Traction control
I would say front CV's or traction control.
Totally agree with your conclusion. Very interesting
People must understand that this is a porsche, it's fast luxurious and adding off road capability is mind blowing, yes you will spend some extra money it's not reliable like the toyoyota, but it's much more fun and very similar from what i saw from this video, good job🤗
Thanks for the comment.
Very nice video. What is wheel&tire setup of the GX460?
Bring me along in my 958 turbo next time! Rear locker, air suspension but no low range
will do, thank you!
The Porsche went up the small hill slightly easier than the Lexus did. When the Lexus' front passenger tire went into the small ditch, the traction control activated, but when the Porsche got to the same spot, it easily went through it without slippage. Not sure why you thought the Lexus did better, although either way, the difference was marginal.
Porsche uses ZF transmission sometimes, so the gears will be low like my Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk. My Jeep has a 56:1 crawl ratio, and even in 4 high , it's 20:1. Not sure about this Porsche, but for sure some Porsche use ZF.
When you have a 9 speed auto , etc , they can make the first gear lower. But yes , many Toyotas will be in the mid 30s. Many jeeps are in the mid 40s to mid 80s in crawl ratio.
The cayenne uses aisin transmission
Gx is my favorite I hope it will win
I’m scared of getting 460 cause how high it already is. Combine that with lift and bigger tires. Add on top a tent 😂
True. GX does seem to have a narrower/taller profile.
Both vehicles did very well although the Lexus held a slight edge. I would choose the Lexus based on durability. I feel the Lexus will be there long after the Porsche has been retired. But then again this is personal preference. Thanks for sharing.
GX would have taken that porche stock. Lexus is king.
Тут бы и сосед на девятке проехал 😅
6来了
That’s a very interesting clicking sound. Someone needs to put a GoPro under there and see what’s causing it.
Clicking noise is abs/traction control working
