- Solinco has become one of the most popular brands on the string market and their best-seller is the square-shaped spin machine, Solinco Tour Bite. Here is my Solinco Tour Bite string review that deals with both Tour Bite and Tour Bite Soft strings.

I like you're involved lengthy reviews on product as opposed to Tennis Warehouse that gives me a few minutes to summarize what you're doing in a longer time I appreciate it
Thanks a lot! Appreciate the comment.
@@Tennisnerd yes
I just bought this string on tennis warehouse and will put it on my racquet once it gets delivered. I’m a high school player and it was really enjoying watching you rally in this video. It makes me feel like I’m gonna rally like this when I go out and play lol
Thanks! Good luck on your tennis 💪🏻💪🏻
Hey man I was wondering what you thought about having normal tour bite in the the new Tecnifibre TF40 305 and if that was a good idea. Also what tension would you recommend for the string in 17g? I usually use 53 pounds but I’ve heard it’s stiffer so would going down to 50 be good or do I need to go down more?
Thanks
Hey Tennisnerd! It appears several pros string crosses 2-4 lbs lower than mains (full poly setups), while others string at same tension. What are your thoughts and/or experience on how the lower strung crosses affects playability? It sounds like you string at same tension.
Finding the right string or strings (hybrid) combo + tension, takes forever to workout. Too many on the market.
Great review! What gauge do you prefer for the clash tour and tour bite? Cheers mate!
Hey, I'm currently using a hybrid of Wilson nxt (mains) and Babolat rpm team (crosses) in my pure drive. Would this be a good string (solinco tour bite soft) for the Babolat pure drive? Also, what strings (including hybrids) would you recommend for someone looking for comfort, power, and spin? Lastly, what set up would you personally use with the pure drive? Thanks in advance!
Hey! Really helpful video, i just have one question which string would be good for a racket like Pure Aero? Currently ii use tour bite nd at times find it hard on elbow.
How is RPM Blast? Will that be helpful? Thanks!
How is the Solinco Diamond rough (16 gauge) string? Is it soft poly or hard?
Hi
If I got clash v2L
I play 1h back hand
Is normal solinco will be good for me?
And if yes how much kg should I put for nice impact for slice ? Ty
I use blade v7 100L, now I use solinco 1.20 mm confidential, I am a recreational player, could you give advice what should i choose tour bite or tour bite soft and what tension you recommend
yo tennisnerd, great vids man... question for ya since I am currently on the hunt for some new frames. I've been playing with the good old solid youtek ig radical mp but since i only have one stick and its been quite difficult to find them for sale i started looking into alternatives. one model that has caught my attention is the prince textreme 100p 18x20, would you happen to have any info on them (especially in comparison to the radical)? thanks!!
Thanks Pat! I will be testing the Textreme 100P 18x20 very soon, so until then I can't really compare them. There are two IG Radical MP for sale on Stringforum right now...
Hey Jonas! Great review as always. I have been using the clash tour and looking for the right string setup. What size are you using? Did 25kg seem to hit the mark? Thanks!
Hey Julian, thanks! My favorite string so far is HEAD Hawk Touch at 25 kg. I use 1.25 gauge.
Quick question. I'm using a Graphene 360 Speed Pro. I have Hyper G in the mains and Head Velocity MLT (multi) in the crosses. I like the softness of this hybrid. I'm not a string breaker, but as you can imagine the multi doesn't last very long. I want to go w a full bed of poly but would like to still have some softness. I also would like to have more slide/snap back of the mains. What would you think about Hyper G in the mains and Tour Bite Soft in the crosses? By the way, THANK YOU for all of the content you put on here! It's been a huge resource of info for me!!!
Eric Shine I have the same racquet, I use hyper g 1.20 in the mains and head lynx 1.25 in the crosses. Both poly but head lynx is softer it does feel good in lower tension. I also found if I restring it to 18x19 instead 18x20 it felt like it had a bigger sweet spot. I ignored the bottom cross string FYI.
@@nightshiift6664 Thanks! I wouldn't have thought of using Lynx in the crosses. And that's cool about leaving off the bottom cross and going 18x19. I may try that.
Hi Tennisnerd! About soilnco tour bite soft and volkl cyclone tour, would you say they are similar?
Hi Lucas, I think you get more control with Tour Bite Soft, Cyclone Tour is soft too, but more powerful.
Have you tired any of the Goldenset strings? Curious to see your take on them.
No, I have never heard of those!
Wait a minute... did you change to a platform stance on your serve??? I’m used to seeing your right foot slide across your left.
Yes, since quite a while back! A bit less power, but more consistent.
Could I use this if I am a younger player? Will it still benefit me and be a good choice? I do not know weather to get this or a multifilament.
I'd say go multifilament for now , soilinco tour bite you need to generate pretty strong racquet head speed.
Try a hybrid setup if a junior with your bite crosses and multifilament in mains
Have you hybrid string the Tour Bite in the more control racquets? When you hybrid string or if you do, what is your setup?
I have a full bed of tour bite in a speed 360 pro (18x20) at 21kg and a hybrid tour bite with tour bite soft on the crosses on another speed 360 pro at 23kg. Those two are very similar. The hybrid at 23kg softens up because of the bite soft, while a full bed of tour bite at 21kg is softer because of that reason. Touch, firmness, power, control and spin very similar. Or at least the difference is so small that my own variation in consistency hides it.
I try not to hybrid shaped strings because I think they eat up the softer strings. I'm pretty much a full poly guy these days. One my favorite hybrids though is natural gut mains at 26 kg and 4G crosses at 25.
What do you think about volkl cyclone 16g black? I think its the best string out there but no one talks about it. I don't get it.
It is a great string! 👍🏻
Thanks for the review brotha. How does this compare to Solinco revolution in your opinion?
Thanks! I have never even tried Revolution! :D I've heard that one is really good too. Hmmm...goes on my list.
@@Tennisnerd plzzz review it
How does this compare to the diamond rough version? Thanks.
Never tried that string, sadly.
Always enjoy your reviews
I recently bought Tour Bite(125mm) and Wilson Power (White 130mm) What is the best set up for this Hybrid, which to put in mains and crosses? Would really appreciate your suggestion
Thank you
It depends on what you like, for comfort/power, put the Wilson string in the mains, for control/spin put Tour Bite in the mains.
@@Tennisnerd Thank you for your reply. I will go Tour Bite in mains👍🏼
How would you compare tour bite to the yonex poly tour pro? @tennisnerd
Tough one to compare. The Poly Tour Pro is a bit softer, but I get more control with Tour Bite and prefer the response from that one.
Please review the original Head hawk ‼️
Good idea!
What country/state do you live in?
How does tourbite compare to 4g
In the future can you playtest the specs of the smaller guys on tour like Diego Schwartzman, David Ferrer, etc? I’d love to know the difference in their set-ups compared to taller guys 😁 Also have you tried the Signum Pro X-Perience string?
Sure, will try that. Yeah, the Pro X-perience is a nice string! Plays similar to Hyper-G.
Tennisnerd Thanks! I’m using the string as well 🔥 Cheers from Vietnam! 😁
I heard this is good for the rf97A, do you agree?
Yeah, Tour Bite Soft works well - regular Tour Bite is too stiff.
how do you find it compared to the HyperG? stiffer with more control?
@tennisnerd Same question for me. I've only experienced with the Hyper-G and was curious how Tour Bite/Soft compares.
Btw, I'm digging the old school Nike Agassi Air Tech Challenge polo! I haven't seen one of those since early 90's!
@@eloneatmyshorts I think Hyper-G is a bit more comfortable than Tour Bite. They have a slightly different feel. I prefer the feel of Hyper-G although they are both very good strings.

@@eloneatmyshorts Regarding the top, it is from a small brand called Vollaix. I was always a fan of the "Hot Lava" Agassi Nike collection and could not resist buying one.
Tennisnerd Thank you. Does Hyper-G still feel more comfortable than the TB SOFT version?
Hey Jonas, what shirt were you wearing at 6:16 ?
It reminds me of the Nike Court Challenge Hot Lava shirts back when Agassi wore them
Nicholas Chou It is a shirt called Everidge from Vollaix. It is a tribute to the Agassi Hot Lava collection from Nike in the 90s. If you check out Vollaix you can get 10% discount if you use the promo code TENNISNERD.
Will this string give me more spin than hyper g?
yes
Tourbite on the Tecnifibre tfight 315 amazing!!!!!!!!!!!! 53 lbs !!!
Where did you get the Agassi shirt???
From a company called Vollaix - they did this really cool Hot Lava throwback shirt...
If you buy from Vollaix.com you can use the code TENNISNERD for a discount.
Where's the place at 6:44?
Close to Marbella, Spain. A residential court, believe it or not!
Do you think this is the best angle string?
One of the better ones!
When are you going to do a review on the luxilon 4g ??? 😃
There is a written review on Tennisnerd: tennisnerd.net/gear/strings/string-reviews/luxilon-4g-string-review/9797
Just tried Tour Bite for the first time and the first hit with it I had pain shoot up my arm and really felt it in my shoulder. Lasted for a few hits and then went away. Stupidly kept playing with it and now seem to have screwed up my hand so have to take a few weeks off. Never touching that string again. The spin and control were nice but man it was rough on the arm. I’ll have to give the soft a try
cat spotted at 11:10
Some clean shots there 💪 💪 💪 PS: Still waiting for you to test a Mantis 310, another small brand I think you should like 💪 💪 💪
Thanks. The cat is "Peanut" :)
22 is not low. 16 would be low
