    Playing with the Clash 100 myself this is the most accurate review of this racquet. Only point to mention is string. Do as he has and use a soft co-polyester strung somewhere between 48 and 52 lbs. No higher. Do not use multifilament or synthetic gut - it defeats the whole point of this racquet which is topspin - it’s very headlight to enable you to do so. As Gael Monfils said when he tested it: “it’s a fast racquet”. Yep - that’s the point. Avoid it if you hit flat.

    Others take note. This gentleman is the best racquet reviewer on the internet. Actually useful info and comparisons to other racquets. Relates racquet's feel and performance to a player's game style. What the heck are other reviewers doing? If you listen/watch 10 other reviews of any 10 racquets by others they are 90% the same words for every racquet (understood that most other racquet reviewers are also selling racquets). This review is VERY good in terms of accurately describing, IN DETAIL, the racquet's performance and both its pros and cons (this is based on my playing experience with the Clash). Thanks for doing such a great job reviewing. I'm subscribing. Please keep it up! :-)

      Thanks a lot. Not sure the Clash is great for almost everyone. The feeling remains special due to the low stiffness and some won't like that. And the power must fit the player's needs also.

    I agree with your review and found the same experiences with the Clash but I liked the Tour a a lot more . I added a leather grip which added 5 grams to the handle and another 8 grams to the hoop for a total of 348 grams. Hits like a dream especially with full poly strung no higher than 21kg. I switched over from a RF Autograph as that racquet was a bit too heavy and stiff for my aging shoulder. Thanks again for the review.......

    What an excellent review! I have listened to practically all clash youtube reviews but this one has the depth needed if you are considering purchasing one. I did purchase and the review was spot on. I went for the tour/pro and really enjoy the ease of playing with it. It is a very good racket and has something to offer for everyone. If you are a player with specific skills however you are better off looking a bit further. You will like the clash but as this is a very allround racket for allround players, there are better sticks for pure control, power or even spin.

    Very good video. I bought the Clash 100 after watching it. Same model, same strings, same tension. Played for a week. I don't hit as hard as you do. But I find the racket to have the strangest sound which I can only describe as tinny (like tin). Perhaps this is because the head is so light. I get a fair amount of vibration and I really did not expect this; even with a dampener. I expected a softer feeling. I am not happy yet.

    • @jpjounier
      @jpjounier 3 роки тому

      Hi. I don't know where that sound comes from. I don't think it's because it's head light. It would interesting if you have the opportunity to try another Clash to see if you have the same feeling.

    AND if you look or find the specifics of the raquet, says Max tension its 49 pounds or 22 Kg so you put 24, you past the tensión so youll be fell off, you have to recomend between 41 AND 49 lbs. Then you hace to pruebe

    • @TeamTennisfr
      @TeamTennisfr 4 роки тому

      When you string at 24 with mono it's never 24 because it loses tension very fast even when you don't play. And anyway I always try different tensions and listen to my feelings instead of the specs that are just indications.

  • @deneszoltan2160
    @deneszoltan2160 5 років тому +1

    Can you please elaborate a little on the differences between the Tour and the standard 100 apart from the weight and swing weight? How is control different (if different)? Is the power noticeably more with the Tour? I think other reviewers (TW, Tennisnerd) preferred the Tour. What made you choose the standard 100? Even the Tour (static and swing weight) is just average for a standard player's racket - not particularly heavy.

    • @TeamTennisfr
      @TeamTennisfr 5 років тому +3

      For me the main difference is the weight. You can have more power with the tour if you're able to swing it, if not it can be the opposite. It depends more on the player than on the racket itself. I clearly prefered the 100 because the Tour was too heavy for me, I had a better manoeuvrability, better speed for my swings. It depends on the player, the best thing is to try both rackets and compare them.

Also would this be a good change from the Pro Kennex ki q +5 which I am currently playing with? For your information, I’ve just underwent wrist surgery caused by TFCC and before that, I’ve had tennis elbow for a couple of years when I was playing with the Wilson n pro strung with RPM blast at 55lbs. This was the one that started my elbow injury. So now am considering any recommendations in order to play normally again.

    Thanks for the useful review. I usually switch between the Blade 98 v7 and the Clash 100. Although it’s a bit heavier, I sense that the Blade 98 has more power and shot accuracy, and I typically use it when I’m in trouble. Is this a fair assessment, and am I better off using the Babolat Pure Aero with the Clash 100 instead of the Blade? Would greatly appreciate your comments.

    • @team-tennisenglish1514
      @team-tennisenglish1514  2 роки тому

      I think you're the best to know what's best for you. If you feel fine with the Blade, go with it. It can provide more power because it's heavier and indeed it's a control oriented racquet that restrict mistakes sending the ball too far. The Pure Aero will be more powerful than the Clash also I'd say. The latest version is not very powerful, it'll depend on the strings/tension you use. You can have a setup that will make it less powerful than the clash.

    Hello Jean-Pierre, Thank you for the review - just subscribed and looking forward to more content. I recently bought a Yonex Vcore 100 which I like but seem to develop some wrist/elbow pain. Maybe the racquet is too stiff? (RA69) I was thinking of buying either a Clash 100 or a Prince Phantom Pro 100 (or another flexible Prince). I'm a low intermediate player and the most important factor (apart from arm friendliness) to properly learn the wrist 'snap' and the follow through on each shot. Which racquet would you recommend?

    • @TeamTennisfr
      @TeamTennisfr 5 років тому +1

      Hey, I'll try to publish more in engligh, maybe on the mental skills, I have a lot to say. For the racquet, I find the VCore 100 comfortable, well balanced. Tennis elbow often comes from a lack of muscular looseness. If you work your technique, it might comes from that. The clash 100 is more flexible, you could lack a bit of power, you should try. I would not recommand the Phantom that could be a bit hard to play. I don"t like courses that focus too much on wrist snap because players try to do it too much on purpose. It should naturally come from looseness and finally if you think too much about it you'll lack looseness. You can also have a look at ProKennex racquets. Look for an evenly balanced tennis racquets but your VCore is not so bad. Keep me informed.

      @deneszoltan2160 5 років тому

      @@TeamTennisfr Thank you, I'm grateful for your reply. You're spot on with the wrist snap. My new coach forces me to snap the wrist on forehands, backhands, slices and serves. My earlier coaches never said much about that...so I find it difficult. On youtube, most videos suggest a fixed/locked wrist for groundstrokes, so I'm quite confused...It may not be the racket after all. I will try the Clash if I have the chance.

    • @TeamTennisfr
      @TeamTennisfr 5 років тому +2

      @@deneszoltan2160 In my opinion you must not focus directly on the wrist snap. You must be relaxed, no tight grip and the wrist snap will occur by itself. The risk is to force yourself to do something that must not be forced. In addition, the wrist snap "intensity" depends on the speed of your swing, not always the same. It's something that has to be unconscious.
