When they are in your regular fleet working for a living with 300-500K miles, then we will know.
Never gonna happen. I’ll eat my shoe if the transmission makes it to 150k. That’ll be $7-8k
@@BrandonLeech Im gonna bet you will have to eat your shoe...
I will eat my shoe if it makes to 100000 , at least it will be under warranty, just have a bunch of headaches to deal with
320k serviced the trans with Bg every 50k no issues so far
@@BrandonLeech we have that transmission in our service trucks, they get beat on in an open pit mine, basically bullet proof, never have issues and thats including the tcase. And that includes the fact they are mud coated most of the time. In a civilian use Id wager they will easily make bench with FOMOCO maitenance intervals.
Can't beat these trucks durability wise. Good basic maintenance all it takes. These are well proven trucks + '23 is even better. Change the fluids on time. Not just 5k mi oil changes but tranny fluid every 50k mis MAX. Coolant every 2yrs. Easy. Cheap. We run fleet of F150s & F250s. All owner of Co will buy! He's strick on basic maintenance. 💯 I just ordered a '23 F250 XLT Tremor myself. Black on black.
the test i really think is how much time it spends in the shop. rims look nice 👍
1200 lbft of torque seems almost ridiculous for a non-commercial vehicle. Why don’t they just drop in a Detroit or Cat semi engine… it’s practically there hahaha
Awesome looking truck wow. I wanna see a maxed out towing video! Not many towing videos on the high output with a decent load. I'm very interested to see that. That thing is a monster wow
I have a 23 450 4.30 gear no problem running 80mph up a 7% grade with 20k behind me.
@@foreshee10 wow. That's super impressive. I wanna see a video!
We’ve had our Azure gray 2023 lariat ultimate with the sport package, with the high output, fully loaded, for about 2-3 weeks, and we love it. Rides smoother than our ‘21.
It’s a nice looking truck, no doubt about that. If I had big money and small concern (they kind of go hand-in-hand), yeah I’d park my old pile of junk and go fancy like this. Unfortunately I don’t think I trust anything built after 2018 or so from any of them. Not enough for a working man to risk a 1000 dollar a month payment on anyway. My old rig costs me some money and downtime for sure but it’s not $12,000 a year or more.
Welcome to the Ford family bro!
No wheel well liners?!!! For the price of these trucks that blows my mind…
Optional. $325 for front / rear
Yeah I can't believe how the new trucks tow. I have towed 28-30k with ram and powerstroke the biggest difference I saw was the engine brake did work better on the ram. With the 10 sp in my powerstroke it had noticeably more power on hills and I got 5mpg better mileage. Both good trucks. I prefer Ford though much more comfortable than ram imo.
It’s load light so far, time to make it work hard with heavy weight and the aerodynamics of a 40ft container.
Great first month review!!
Always appreciate your opinion and enjoy your videos brother
Hey Paul, ended up putting some MT Baja Boss AT on my dually, to my surprise they are better than I thought. I know you’ve tried a ton of different tires for your trucks, but if you have one that does a good amount of snow or offroad you should give them a try sometime.
This! I'm trying my first set and sof far they have been awesome everywhere i've gone. Also, they're actually quiet.
Been having these for about 2 years and they have been great! MT even helped me when one of my tires went flat and blew out.
I hated the 90’s Chevy trucks with the narrow rear axle and the front wheels sat wider then the rear. Always had to put spacers on the rear wheels to match the front.
that big loom would 100% get wrapped with Rad hose to protect it from road debris if i owned it. or relocated higher up to protect it if it has teh length (rare these days with all teh cost savings (aka profit increasers))
I think you are nitpicking too much,I have a 2017 f350 SRW LWB,,I bought it brand new,I have had it over 5 years,,I have towed my gooseneck dump trailer with it from day one,,never had any issues with it except earlier on when a coolant hose gave up the ghost,,I take my truck to the landfill 5 to 6 days a week multiple times a day,,the landfill is some of the hardest conditions you can put your truck through,I think you’ll be fine with your new Ford especially if it never leaves the pavement like most of them do
You will love the truck! Run good full synthetic engine oil. Change every 5k mis strictly. These '23 Superduty are best Superdutys yet. 💯👍🏻
I’m curious how your feelings change after putting some miles on it with a substantial load.
I bought a 2019 new with the 6.2 , 6 speed , been pull 8300 pound camper all over the country an using it for some work with a total of 105000 miles with 0 problems so for planning a nouther trip cross country again, no way I would do it with any of these new diesels with 10 speed trans , that 6.2 , 6 speed doesn’t get any more bullet proof than that
Enjoy your 6 speed it'll be the last one you will ever own. Everything will be 8-10 speeds from now on. Time and technology marches on.
I love my 15 6.2 with 6 speed. Pull my 9,000lb camper.
Paul, Saw your front splash shields are doing the same as mine, gotta push that top piece in on top where it rubs the strut tower or it rubs and wears the paint and the shield. they don't really afffix to anything well but factory doesn't really give a flying yoo hoo. About those wiring harnesses in the fender well, its really tight and have had numerous (6) warranty issues with chaffed wires rubbing on the frame causing alot of body codes and DEF Faults. watch for that
Seats in my Platinum i felt like falling into a toilet seat and made it hard to maneuver. Plus head rubbed on the roof liner with the sunroof, not sure if your order has that.
Should the leaf spring at the 2 min mark be sticking up out of the coupler?
Hay whats that copper thing in your Air vent ?
It tows incredible but so did my 2020
Was there a skid plate on the fuel tank? Fyi, the tanks are not readily available should some flat brim joker drive a logging block stick through it.. lol skid plates are the cheapest investment you can make if your actually working the truck off asphalt.
water cooled turbo could be a game changer when running HARD. may even be new driver proof LOL (not quite but close)
Stock Wheels looked way better!
No
Yes
Just wait. My first oil change was a 3000 miles. I’m at 5200 and it wants another oil change. Have put 20 gallons of def in so far. 2023 platinum. My 2020 platinum didn’t demand this much
There is 8 inches more cab length in the ford vs the HD Ram. A crew cab 6'9" bed has the same wheelbase as a Megacab(160") and it 2 inches longer overall than the Ram. On a crew cab 8ft bed there is 8c inches more wheelbase(168" Ram vs 176" Ford) and the Ram is 258" overall vs 267" Ford. Both have 8ft beds. There is a huge difference between the same configurations.
What phone holder is that?
what are teh weight rating on those wheels? i have been struggling to find wheels properly rated for teh rear axle capacity.
i do like that teh new trucks will passive regen whenever possible to save fuel!
do the new fords have rear vents in the xl and stx? thats my biggest complaint with my 2020. tradesman ram has them.
Did you pay the extra $300 for inner fender liners?
Why won’t my 23 do a brake stand 😢
Hey what’s the model of the magnetic wireless phone charger you’re using in the cab?
I'd like to see some pencil and paper actual fuel mileage. I'd also like to see some driving from a stop with light medium and heavy acceleration, while viewing the instrument panel and no talking (so I can hear the engine and shifting). I'm curious to see if the dash is close to actual fuel economy.
Sad that you've had so many issues with ram that you're trying the fords out
If ram doesn't give us an update as far as trans, maybe cab, for 24 in gonna order a super duty
Take it to a dyno .. ?
I do like the wheels
They still have the Cp4 HPFP i believe.
Not for long
@@Diesel_Mountain ??? What do you know about a change?
As far as I know. If they got rid of that and went to a more reliable fuel setup, eh…you’d still have that 10 speed transmission to worry about. At least the 19 and older 6.7’s had the solid 6R140’s
Yes still has a cp4. Ram and gm went back to cp3
@@bryandepiazzy8679 gm has had the denso Hp4 since 2017. Before that they had cp4.
Going from a 22 ram to a 22 powerstroke both 1 tons I have to disagree. Ford to me feels far more stable in every way than the ram
I completely agree.
How do you got the big screen, and digital gage on an XLT. I’ve had no idea they made that
XLT Premium Package, which is $4150, but adds a lot of other goodies too !!
It's ridiculous how much plastic are on these trucks....I'd understand if they were half the price. That being said I'm a ram guy I have a 6.7 but this ford is very tempting..lol
Every vehicle has a ton of plastic. This isn't some new thing.
I hated the 23 look but this one is nice!
the dial shifters are dangerous imho
The rams are a little long in the tooth but the interior is still far better. I don’t like how basic and generic the ford interior is
You say scary stuff with the plastic hose ends, The don't even think about flying on a jet airliner or a helicopter. Plastics, composites and bonded structures are the way its done.
Just be sure to have $10,000 on hand for when the fuel pump comes apart and trashes the entire fuel system...and it WILL happen.
Hope you don’t get tue infamous death wobble 😮
10:30
A quieter engine
Relax man smoke the tires off. Lol
You drive a Ford yet Ram lives rent free in your head. I hot shot for a living and 98% of the hot shot trucks I see are Rams, that should tell you something and give you a clue! Lol
My Ram dually has 300,000 miles on it and never an issue with it!
If it’s a 4th gen I believe it. only thing that really needs extra attention on those is the front end alignment and suspension.
He has nothing but Rams in his fleet for hotshotting
Most hot shot trucks you see are Rams because they have great engines and used to be a great value over Ford and GM. Now they are more expensive when comparing a HD Ram to Ford and Gm of equal trim level. 22 Ram 3500’s have some issues
He has many ram trucks. He’s only mentioning rams cause he knows what they’ll need at what mileage and makes him money. Nothing wrong with comparing the 2. Real world testing. Not paid by some people
Are you new to the channel? Lol
Take it to a dyno .. ?
