  • @MegaFloobs
    @MegaFloobs 10 років тому +80

    One thing i will say when learning this song is that the louder you play it the easier it is to play. If you have the volume turned down then you'r obviously going have to pluck harder and pressing the strings harder to create a more hard hitting distinct tone. This puts more strain on your muscles etc the harder it is to play. I end up turning the volume up and it becomes so much easier to play.
    Good hand warm up also help alot too

      MegaFloobs not on my bass, but I've got my bridge/saddle dropped almost all the way down so i can pluck/tap easily(carpel-tunnel got my hands weak) so basically all the lines I play have that tasty fret-bust.

    • @MegaFloobs
      @MegaFloobs 8 років тому +6

      A lower action will allow you to play faster and softer but you compromise tone doing that. If you enjoy the fret buzz then each to their own but it can interfere if you start to add distortion into the mix; Loosing note definition

      You can get pretty damn close with software like Guitar Rig, and a DAW like Cubase. Takes a lot of fiddling to get right, but it's the best you can get without the hardware! If you're handy with synths and MIDI you can also program in the synth part, which makes it sound SERIOUSLY close when you play along with it.

    3:30 how he does that..press the string down to the body or what..

      nevermind..i got it..I play by ear so it was easy for me but still for those of you who want to know...just go to E note on the A string which is, if im right, seventh fret..but dont press the string but just touch it as for pinch harmonics or muting..and just pluck it and then slide it away...too easy...although I'm not sure it will work without an overdrive

    • @marijanbarac1216

      yeah i actually use a lot of harmonics lol but i never thought about one on such low note :D

      Marijan Barać Without trying to be offensive, I need to know, how do you play bass without knowing the 7th fret (in standard tuning) on each string is an octave up of the open string above?

      xX_TheRealGaben_Xx
      ..i know where the tones, octaves etc. are but im a visual guy..and since i dont learn by tabs i never really count frets
      ..no one taught me seventh fret is an octave..i got it bymyself while playing but never really cared what fret is that..whats the big deal man..people these days just need to be taunting for every little mistake one makes..geez..it wasnt really a mistake either

    This song is relatively simple to play it’s the tempo that makes it so difficult. You need fast fingers. I guess would be easy for an advanced player which I am not!
