I don't know very many impressive songs on guitar, but this one ALWAYS gets people. Playing the bassline and then the guitar at the solo and past is just awesome
There are so many more impressive basslines than this. As a bassist of over 17 years, look at Flea with Chili Peppers just to start. Let alone Geddy Lee from Rush or Geezer Butler from Sabbath. This is just a pretty simple repeating line. Its fun and sounds great, but really not technically impresive to anyone that knows what they're looking at 😅
@@Nothing2Interesting It isnt always about "technical" proficiency but also how the line serves the song. Too many people get caught up in virtuosity (I did when I was younger) but now I prefer a complete song, the impression it leaves, and the "feeling." This song leaves an impression more than any Rush song ever did.
This song is very obsessive ... I can't stop listening to it ... It gives me a feeling of inexplicable but pleasant nostalgia ... :) ... Listening to this with headphones at full volume those lyrics with an apocalyptic sense. I enter another world ... It's just amazing ...

I think the biggest reason I love this band so much apart of Matt’s voice, the incredible songwriting, and the 2000’s rock, mysterious, darkish, at times 80’s, spacey vibe.. because of those things they’re just so different from any band I’ve ever heard. But they sound the most like Radiohead maybe Soundgarden. Plus still has authentic badass guitar drums bass etc. they’re just so awesome.

@@JBUHJBUH Without trying to sound pretentious... it's sort of a parallel for the human experience and wanting something so badly that you'd do almost anything to have it, and once you have it it's not what you expected. Your whole reason for being and existing has just been proven pointless, and meaningless. The rage felt when your soul has been ripped out by the fact that all you've been working for, all that you've focused on being is a complete lie. It makes you question all you've ever known, all you've ever felt. It makes you wonder who was in on the conspiracy of selling you that lie, convincing you that you would be complete and fulfilled once you have what you've been told your heart desires.

I don't know very many impressive songs on guitar, but this one ALWAYS gets people. Playing the bassline and then the guitar at the solo and past is just awesome
ua-cam.com/video/k2V2RzJmTMU/v-deo.html
I can and always do the same with my Bass VI! That's why I love it
There are so many more impressive basslines than this. As a bassist of over 17 years, look at Flea with Chili Peppers just to start. Let alone Geddy Lee from Rush or Geezer Butler from Sabbath. This is just a pretty simple repeating line. Its fun and sounds great, but really not technically impresive to anyone that knows what they're looking at 😅
@@Nothing2Interesting Try Chris Squire Heart of the Sunrise, or Close to the Edge by Yesm
I’m leaving this comment here so that whenever someone likes it, I’ll be reminded of this absolute masterpiece

This song is very obsessive ... I can't stop listening to it ... It gives me a feeling of inexplicable but pleasant nostalgia ... :) ... Listening to this with headphones at full volume those lyrics with an apocalyptic sense. I enter another world ... It's just amazing ...

Underrated comment!!!!
For real!!!!!!
Listen les claypool... He's bass lines are impossible
The song itself ain't dat hard to play, it's actually pretty straightforward, however Chris really is a genious bass player for coming up with it.....
This isn't hard
Nobody: You can't put a bassline, a guitar riff and some vocals all in a difficulty level of 10/10 in the same song
Matt Bellamy: Hold my beer...
Αυτό ακριβώς
This bassline is actually pretty easy to play. Same for the guitar riffs.
Hold my powper fish
The bass line is pure finger stamina.
Men did you know “for whom the bell tolls”
even with almost 100 million views, it seems like muse is so underrated. i wish more people could see how amazing they are

As a bassist all I gotta say is HOLY FUCK is this song a workout xD
It's fun as hell to play though
Haha yeah
True ahahah
Never listened to the Who then ? 😳
As another bassist it sure fucking is almost made my fingers bleed.
Learning this song on bass gave me the worst blisters that I've had in a long time. Totally worth it though :)
+Sam Gould Why did it give you blisters? I've played it a bit on bass (that riff is killer on bass), but I'm far better on guitar. Love playing it though (but it doesn't give me blisters).
Vykk Draygo I push down hard on my string when I play and it causes me to get blisters sometimes
Well... um, don't push so hard! ;)
I had to break myself of that, since guitar strings are relatively light. It's really easy to bend a note without meaning to if you press to hard. :)
+Sam Gould Forget the blisters... you actually menaged to learn this shit?!
+Mitar Zecevic Just keep on playing it slow to begin with, i had a really hard time doing it but I've finally got it now!
Is Muse a drug?? Because I want it now!

This track is an absolute eargasm, so much energy on one single song, and the bass + guitar riffs are insane. This band has influenced me so much, that I recently paid tribute to them by doing a 100% live looping medley of their greatest tracks, including this one, I'll leave the link in the replies below in case anyone wants to check it out!

There's so much emotion in that solo - an almost pleading, begging, unrequited love situation just emanate from the guitar...quite incredible!

Maldita genialidad, desde el bajo, la voz, la guitarra, la batería, lo tiene TODOOOOOOOOO para volverse LOCO!!!!!!, Muse por siempre 🥰❤️
Well fkn said 👍🤌
honestly i kinba get some royal blood vibes from this song. reminds me of outta the black or my little monster

I love this song. Never heard it until 3 days ago, and I’m already obsessed with it. I’ve been looking into buying a bass guitar for months now, and I love the songs that emphasize bass; Another One Bites the Dust, anything by Primus, and now I’ve found this song. I love it because it emphasizes bass, but not just bass. Everything is incorporated well, and it’s cohesive, and in my eyes, a true masterpiece.
Update: this song made me a bass player. Been playing since christmas. Crazy impact for a single song to have
Good job! Keep it up!
Red hot chili peppers also has some pretty cool bass stuff.

OMG I love hysteria and the absolution album!
It's one of their bests!
+Shinji Kuritō It's not really in order, but you see a man rewatching videos he recorded of a prostitute he seems to be stalking and spying on (I think it's a prostitute since she's seen walking the streets and entering random cars), then when he finally gets her for the night he gets too greedy and handsy and she leaves, all of this being recorded. This left him really sad but after rewatching what happened he realizes he messed up his only chance and he completely "loses control"

nope it's from there 2004 album absolution
Claudia Martínez Méndez when I studied at school people made a presentation and they used 'space dementia' as a background music to convey their message, I felt a mixture of feeling shit and great at the same time.
