I don't know very many impressive songs on guitar, but this one ALWAYS gets people. Playing the bassline and then the guitar at the solo and past is just awesome
There are so many more impressive basslines than this. As a bassist of over 17 years, look at Flea with Chili Peppers just to start. Let alone Geddy Lee from Rush or Geezer Butler from Sabbath. This is just a pretty simple repeating line. Its fun and sounds great, but really not technically impresive to anyone that knows what they're looking at 😅
@@Nothing2Interesting It isnt always about "technical" proficiency but also how the line serves the song. Too many people get caught up in virtuosity (I did when I was younger) but now I prefer a complete song, the impression it leaves, and the "feeling." This song leaves an impression more than any Rush song ever did.
This song is about to get lots of views thanks to Fortnite, but personally I don't mind. Muse deserve more attention and being more popular than they are imo. And this is great song to enter the Muse cave.

@@JBUHJBUH Without trying to sound pretentious... it's sort of a parallel for the human experience and wanting something so badly that you'd do almost anything to have it, and once you have it it's not what you expected. Your whole reason for being and existing has just been proven pointless, and meaningless. The rage felt when your soul has been ripped out by the fact that all you've been working for, all that you've focused on being is a complete lie. It makes you question all you've ever known, all you've ever felt. It makes you wonder who was in on the conspiracy of selling you that lie, convincing you that you would be complete and fulfilled once you have what you've been told your heart desires.

Whenever I listen to this song, its like the very first time. a chill runs/goes down (one's) spine is absolutely what happens in each time. when I try to the upmost level is, when I also see the official video of the song. Everything, each and every single element, that combines this video is a masterpiece separately. This song is literally like an art, made with musical notes. I have been listening their songs for 20 years, as of 35 years now, they became a very distant part of my life, my adolescence years, university, challenges, comfort, rough times, marriage, road trips, sad days, happiness. They became like a friend of mine that appears in these kind of situations and be there with me when I pass through these feelings. Now we are at the point that words are not good enough to describe this song and Muse. Long live buddies, with my all sincere feelings, wish to meet with u one day and shake your hand personally and thank you for all!
+Shinji Kuritō It's not really in order, but you see a man rewatching videos he recorded of a prostitute he seems to be stalking and spying on (I think it's a prostitute since she's seen walking the streets and entering random cars), then when he finally gets her for the night he gets too greedy and handsy and she leaves, all of this being recorded. This left him really sad but after rewatching what happened he realizes he messed up his only chance and he completely "loses control"
In 2015, 3 sisters from Mexico played their cover of "Hysteria" in front of their classmates as part of an audition for a summer program at Berklee College of Music. The bassist was 10 years old. Eight years later, those three young women opened for Muse at the Milton Keynes Bowl in Buckinghamshire, UK. Matt Bellamy was so impressed by them he gave the lead singer a one-of-a-kind Manson Onyx Six in screaming mustard yellow.
@@romusa10 Apparently it was released while Linkin Park's Numb was #1 on the rock chart. I guess thats understandable. But then some terrible Offspring song and Incubus Megalomaniac were #1 after that. But It took over 1 year for Hysteria to peak on the chart. And at that time it was behind Boulevard of Broken Dreams and one of the longest running hits of all time Mr. Brightside. And I'm Not Okay by MCR. The solo from 2:26 to 3:06 min is a peace of art 🔥
Why is this so amazing
+Edward Vlaanderen its alright its not mind blowing rock I'm not into the hype either
+damn rite I think it's the bassline and the electric guitar moment near the end that does all the success of the song
+Joey Dennis zepplin, the cult, nirvana, thats epic thats just mediocre rock
+damn rite I dont think it's mediocre keeping up that bass line for this long ;p
Because it is muse
The bass, the drums, the guitar. Simply perfect
There is nothing sexier sounding than this song..seriously..I feel hot as hell rocking out to this song!
0:23 Paris Rolex masters 🙌
One of my favourite Muse-songs. legendary...
I don't know very many impressive songs on guitar, but this one ALWAYS gets people. Playing the bassline and then the guitar at the solo and past is just awesome
ua-cam.com/video/k2V2RzJmTMU/v-deo.html
I can and always do the same with my Bass VI! That's why I love it
There are so many more impressive basslines than this. As a bassist of over 17 years, look at Flea with Chili Peppers just to start. Let alone Geddy Lee from Rush or Geezer Butler from Sabbath. This is just a pretty simple repeating line. Its fun and sounds great, but really not technically impresive to anyone that knows what they're looking at 😅
@@Nothing2Interesting Try Chris Squire Heart of the Sunrise, or Close to the Edge by Yesm
Since I learned this song on bass, my girlfriend loves me more than before
right on brutha. Now all you gotta figure out how to play bass riffs while you're bangin!
Well, that's Muse for ya!
my fingers starts spasming after the 30th rep of the riff
+MeetReed 😂😂😂 I'm having the same problem
😂😂😂
That bass line!!!
This song is about to get lots of views thanks to Fortnite, but personally I don't mind. Muse deserve more attention and being more popular than they are imo. And this is great song to enter the Muse cave.
Come in my caaaaaaaaaaaave
Naa can you imagine to see Matt on Fortnite?
Oh , and some band as Green day or Paramore they have too more views thanks to Fortnite , albums as Basket Case or Riot are more popular than before
As a middle-aged guy who found this song on Festival Main Stage, I'm embarrassed I'd never heard it before and glad to have found it.
FORTNITE MENTIONED!
That screaming between 3:00 & 3:30 is me when I realise this song came out over a fifth of a century ago...
I love this bass line so much. It’s why I started learning bass guitar a few years ago. Thanks to it, I got accepted into music school :D
Nice!!!
That's awesome!
Amazing, congratulation !
Congrats bro
Hi I recommend a song that's Called 'the bond villain' by Robert Nix
Phenomenal song. An all time classic. Never get bored of hearing this one.
Moreover, the guy's acting in this video is good. Really brings out the rage, paranoia and fury.
😍😍😍😍
I'm not sure I understand what's going on in this video actually - he's angry at himself for stalking the girl?
@@JBUHJBUH He's angry that he doesn't have her. He starts smashing shit when she's not answering his calls and he watches when he hit her and she left. "I want it now, Give me your heart and your soul." "I want you now"

Ps: I can play this song dudes.
Underrated comment!!!!
For real!!!!!!
Listen les claypool... He's bass lines are impossible
The song itself ain't dat hard to play, it's actually pretty straightforward, however Chris really is a genious bass player for coming up with it.....
This isn't hard
Nobody: You can't put a bassline, a guitar riff and some vocals all in a difficulty level of 10/10 in the same song
Matt Bellamy: Hold my beer...
Αυτό ακριβώς
This bassline is actually pretty easy to play. Same for the guitar riffs.
Hold my powper fish
The bass line is pure finger stamina.
Men did you know “for whom the bell tolls”

This song is very obsessive ... I can't stop listening to it ... It gives me a feeling of inexplicable but pleasant nostalgia ... :) ... Listening to this with headphones at full volume those lyrics with an apocalyptic sense. I enter another world ... It's just amazing ...

You ever not listen to a song for awhile to just remember the memories attached to it and where you are in life? Yeah that's this song.
I listened to this song when i was in 10th class and learned to play bass because of this song. And now i am in 12th class, not playing guitar anymore😂😂,, but yeah it brings back my memories with my metal head friends and how we used to practice this song everyday by bunking classes🤣🤣
Me unsure about r.ships, yep, im here again. Also, I really don't do sh. I need to damn beeath tho, k thx

Happy 10th birthday, Hysteria single!
es verdad! una década tiene uno de los mejores sencillos de muse.
it's been 10 years already ?:O
Yup. 1 December 2003.
I read this comment 11 years ago now
Definitely One Of My Favorites by Muse...!!❤
1. Listen to this song (x million times)
2. Get Hysteria for real
3. Back to No.1
Whenever I listen to this song, its like the very first time. a chill runs/goes down (one's) spine is absolutely what happens in each time. when I try to the upmost level is, when I also see the official video of the song.
2:25 My fav quitar part is coming ❤👏
My Most Favorite Song from Muse!
May 2024
Mine too 🌟
This song never get old and still one of my favourite all time
i swear this song never gets old
OMG I love hysteria and the absolution album!
It's one of their bests!
Oh it's a prostitute I thought it was his girlfriend^^
+GoodThingsGaming Oh yeah I forgot origin of simmetry
My order
1- Oos
1 - Showbiz
1 - Absolution
1 - The Resistance
1 - Blank Holes and Revelations
2 - Drones
2 - 2nd Law

My favorite is New Born, but this is one of my favorites too, maybe in second place haha but I love this song so much, and that riff? Jesus, so good
the solo at 2:27 is so fkin epic, i can only imagine myself that the guitar playing it was on fire!
Haven't listened to muse in 10 years, listening back to this is just give me thrills, what a fantastic piece of music!
Has to be one of the best songs ever created!
Omg, every single song of them is so great! ^-^
I love your profile picture
In 2015, 3 sisters from Mexico played their cover of "Hysteria" in front of their classmates as part of an audition for a summer program at Berklee College of Music. The bassist was 10 years old. Eight years later, those three young women opened for Muse at the Milton Keynes Bowl in Buckinghamshire, UK. Matt Bellamy was so impressed by them he gave the lead singer a one-of-a-kind Manson Onyx Six in screaming mustard yellow.
The best cover of this song for me!
That's very cool 😎😎
😂
I've never got why these kind of songs are so underrated...
This was big as f at 2008
@@romusa10 Came out in like 2006. Never hit #1 though. What a travesty
@@Trizzer89 cause the no 1 almost always some mainstream easy listening music
@@romusa10 Apparently it was released while Linkin Park's Numb was #1 on the rock chart. I guess thats understandable. But then some terrible Offspring song and Incubus Megalomaniac were #1 after that. But It took over 1 year for Hysteria to peak on the chart. And at that time it was behind Boulevard of Broken Dreams and one of the longest running hits of all time Mr. Brightside. And I'm Not Okay by MCR. Good lord that's pretty stacked, but there are some bad songs in there too
Yep but who cares about the charts, the important thing is that this was created and released :)
I love this song. Never heard it until 3 days ago, and I’m already obsessed with it. I’ve been looking into buying a bass guitar for months now, and I love the songs that emphasize bass; Another One Bites the Dust, anything by Primus, and now I’ve found this song. I love it because it emphasizes bass, but not just bass. Everything is incorporated well, and it’s cohesive, and in my eyes, a true masterpiece.
Update: this song made me a bass player. Been playing since christmas. Crazy impact for a single song to have
Good job! Keep it up!
Red hot chili peppers also has some pretty cool bass stuff.
THIS BASSLINE!!!!!! I’d kill for a bassist like this as a drummer man
you called?
I feel like every bassist at least is attempting or learned this song already 😅
how can a guitar solo be this perfect , i can't believe it , the melody bruh it kills me , this outtah from this earth
