Hi Brendon, swap III for PG and you get my ranking. I think III is an absolute masterpiece and it arrived just at a moment where I was really missing Queen and Freddie, and to me it sort of filled that gap. Great band! Cheers.
I agree with you on the rankings, but I'll take it a step further. Play the Top 3 in that order (III Sides, II and Debut) I consider it the best Extreme trilogy. I'm loving the new album as well.
Great ranking. Mine is slightly different but putting Porno first I absolutely can’t blame you. 6: Punchline 5: Saudades 4. SIX 3. Extreme 2. Pornograffiti 1. III sides to Every Story
That rundown is pretty spot on. On any given day I could swap the debut and Three Sides where you placed them, the impact of Pornograffiti will never budge though.
Love the new album. Also really love Here's to the Losers. Its like We Are The Champions but for the losing team. Great closer. Pornographitti is a classic but III Sides to Every Story is one of the greatest albums of all time.
Enjoyed this ranking episode. Extreme is one of my all time fav bands. I really hope they end up releasing a deluxe version of III Sides with Don't Leave Me Alone inserted as track 12. Nuno hated leaving that track off of the CD since it couldn't fit on the CD back in the early 90s But it's on the vinyl and cassette and digital allows us to put it in a playlist. That track really fits well before the last trilogy of songs on the album. Would love to see that album performed in its entirety, and cool to see we both rank that album high. Here's my ranking: 6. Waiting For the Punchline 5. Extreme S/T 4. Six 3. Saudades De Rock 2. Pornografitti 1. III Sides to Every Story
Great vid! Been a huge fan of the band ever since the debut. I haven’t heard the new one yet and haven’t heard Saudes in quite some time, but plan to do an Extreme marathon this week. My ranking follows yours with the exception of the top 3. Mine favorite is still the debut followed by Pornographiti and then III.
Saudades De Rock is easily my favorite. Partially because of nostalgia (my dad played it all the time when I was a young kid). I also just love how funky it sounds with some more acoustic or even folksy sounding bits. It's more abstract while still rocking very hard.
Excellent review of the six Extreme albums Brendon. Thank you for sharing your thoughts. I cannot really comment on your ranking, as I am missing three of those albums from my collection. Only just picked up a near mint copy of the rare cream and green variant of 'three sides to every story' at a Sunday market. Very pleased with that addition to the collection. Do you collect variants of certain albums Brendon?
This was so easy imo. The first 3 in order are the top three with maybe the third being at one imo. The last three I would simply reverse the order of 5 & 6 and that's it. To me Three Sides to every story is by far their best work musically, lyrically and production wise. If you're a die hard Extreme fan from their first album there's no way you can't acknowledge what a true masterpiece that record truly is.
Interesting ranking! Here’s mine: 6. Saudades (loved some of the songs (run, peace, slide) but just felt disjointed) 5. Extreme 4. Punchline (I loved punchline!) 3. Six (reminds me of punchline with better production) 1b. III Sides (that third side makes it impossible to demote to 2) 1a. Pornografitti
I wish Extreme bring out Compilation cd with demos, b-sides & rarities from singles & Japanese imports from 1985 up to now added on cd thru their label earMusic.
In the mid 90’s, a number of hard rock bands from the 80’s released outstanding albums, including Motley Crue’s self titled album, Skid Row’s Subhuman Race, Tesla’s Bust a Nut and Extreme’s Waiting for the Punchline. Despite the adverse music scene, Extreme produced great songs on this album including Shadow Boxing (worth the price of admission), Unconditionally, Waiting for the Punchline (some serious drumming and guitar riffs), midnight express (Nuno show casting his skills) and others. For that background alone, I place Waiting at No 2 behind III Sides which is my top Extreme album.
I would have a few changes my list would be 6. EXTREME 5. Saudades 4. Waiting 3. Porno 2. SIX 1. Three Sides. For me 4,5,6 are close and I could switch up on another day, Waiting though dark most of the record, had a great lead single with HIP TODAY which was ahead of its time which I feel is the story of EXTREME. Porno has to be 3 for me despite SIX being so new I appreciate the variety now more. And for me its almost impossible to top THREE sides, this album needed to have its 30 year reissue, should have been a double album, songs were cut which can be heard in the segue that they wanted the record to flow. And the last three tracks possibly the most creative 19 minutes of any band in a long time. An underrated classic album that is sadly overlooked but appreciated more now luckily it seems
Extreme is from the era, have the look, sound, style, and just about every other trait that definite a Glam Metal band. Tesla on the other hand, while from the era and promoted as a Glam Metal band, really were much more rooted in 70’s rock like Great White. But all 3 are still Glam Metal bands. Glam Metal wasn’t just bands that had big hair and wore make-up. Ratt, Motley Crue, Def Leppard, and even GNR are all Glam Metal bands.
Probably not since at various times there have been up to 3 versions of the band at one time. The question would be which albums to include or exclude and if I included them all it wouldn’t make for a balanced comparison.
Three sides is their best album I think, followed by pornography, then the first album. Then honestly the other three are all tied for last. That's just my feeling on it
I'd have Six at the bottom right now. They're all pretty tight together anyway, but the reggae-ish tune and the weird Nuno vocals on The Mask are rare blemishes. I also wish some of the more industrial sounds on Six were replaced by fuzz pedals or something similar, keep it more organic. II, Debut, III, Saudades, Punchline, Six. I read an interview with Nuno that said he was hoping to have the next one out in closer to 15 months than 15 years and it will likely have a lot more funk. Here's hoping!
@@mikeimpressionsreviews I hadn't heard that, but I did hear that Nuno rejected 1 or 2 albums worth on the way to completing Six. Don't know if we ever see those tracks, or if they get reworked?
Not a fan of Three sides to every story. I actually like it only slightly better than Punchline and Saudedas. Three sides was just too quirky and political for me. It was more alternative sounding to me. So, this is how I would rank them and a lot of this is my biased from seeing them live early in their careers. 6 - Punchline 5- Saudedas 4- Three sides 3- Self titled debut 2 - Six 1 - Pornograffiti

Still play often to keep reminding me how great it is.

Spot on with this one Brendon.
That rundown is pretty spot on. On any given day I could swap the debut and Three Sides where you placed them, the impact of Pornograffiti will never budge though.

None of these albums are outstanding whatsoever.
All albums are really good. To me the self titled was the best. Amazing stuff. Haven't had chance to hear new one
Love the t-shirt
Didn’t like Star because it sounded like Queen…but loved Heres to the Losers. Got it. 😂 Nice vid.

I still love the 3rd album. At the time I really thought it was going to be huge especially after their AMAZING performance at Freddie Mercury tribute
Excellent ránking 👍👍🤩why the song don't leave alone don't appear on the cd versión from three sides of every stories??? It's a song Amazin 🤟🤟
No room for a CD album was too long. They didn’t want to do a double album.
@@user-uu8up6ki9u ok thanks 👍
Ive never considered extreme or tesla as glam metal but that was an awesome ranking id put six ahead of the debut myself personally
Extreme is from the era, have the look, sound, style, and just about every other trait that definite a Glam Metal band. Brendan will you do a la guns album ranking at some point? If you have i apologize i havent seen it

@BrendonSnyder maybe just classic line up? The last 4 albums of thr reunited phil and tracii have been decent
Hey Brendan, I agree with your rankings here on all the Extreme records. Porno is easily number one.
😎👍
I really liked Run and King Of The Ladies from Saudades De Rock.
Three sides is their best album I think, followed by pornography, then the first album. Then honestly the other three are all tied for last. That's just my feeling on it
Hello brendon.Warrior soul album ranking
I don’t own their whole collection. I enjoyed their early albums but after they reunited, it’s sort of hit or miss.
I'd have Six at the bottom right now. They're all pretty tight together anyway, but the reggae-ish tune and the weird Nuno vocals on The Mask are rare blemishes. I heard due to the 15 years, they have like 3 or 4 albums in the can and even came up with the title for the next one
@@mikeimpressionsreviews I hadn't heard that, but I did hear that Nuno rejected 1 or 2 albums worth on the way to completing Six. Don't know if we ever see those tracks, or if they get reworked?
@@kitoyobeni1 he discussed this in an album release interview on Friday

3- Self titled debut

3 sides is still one of my favorite albums of all time. Pornograffiti not so much
Most people don't like Punchline, but I thought differently. The first is the most cheesy. IMO.
Cynical is my favorite song
I’m going with: pornografiti, Six, Extreme, Saudades, 3 sides, punchline.
Six is my 2nd favourite Extreme album. Pornograffiti is 1st rest a miss 🤘🇬🇧
The new album doesn’t work for me at all. Cheers
As soon as you put waiting... At number 6, I stopped watching 😂
Cannot agree. Pornograffitti is easily on top with Six following closely. Saudades is their only real dud, coming in @#6.
Promograffitti is on top! 🤷♂️
Their "3 sides for every story" was their only good record.
For me is
