There's a whole set of basics (Tower abilities which allow you to recycle (sell a unit you just got in cards)), Recruit an extra unit that round etc...) as well as choosing the right counter, not only based on unit to unit. But where the enemy unit is placed, and when you estimate your unit will get to where it needs to be. Using your chaff,flanks and teching late to control opponent tempo. Also you can edit your unit tech between games, some need to be unlocked with points you gain as you level up, tons of great stuff needs unlocking. I'm sure you'll be sporting a much higher MMR on your next stream!
