HUGE props to Rain for sharing this lower MMR match and helping folks out! What key tip would you give to a beginner player?

Thank you so much my brother! I'm sure this will be super helpful for new players, as it was for me. It's been an honor to be featured in your commentary!
I think Cobrak mentioned it already, MORE CHAFF!! The more chaff and chaff diversity, the better. Typically I use crawlers in the beginning more in my backline and throughout the match i add Fangs to the front and then spec them with shields (if there is no fire on the board).
My second piece of advice from me would be to learn which units counter each other. This will help drive the decision making for what units to go with. There are Mechabellum Unit Matrices online to help with that, just google for them.
For example, the unit card on round 2 had only two valid choices in my option. First choice: Phoenix to counter sledgehammers and arclights. Second choice: Mustang to build a generic board and have good chaff clear or anti-air potential (based on tech selection). The Wraith IMO is only good when you are attacking aggro or defending against aggro, even then it's only in specific cases. Using the wraith is standard positioning typically doesn't work and gets quickly countered by a phoenix or a marksman.
My third tip is to not be afraid to sell units and switch into a different unit. Sometimes you placed a unit wrong or the unit just gets countered to fast, sell it, buy it again and place it somewhere else or buy a different unit to counter your enemy. Leaving a unit to just die and give your enemy free XP, will never work.
XP farming was definitely a mistake I made earlier on. If one of your units is dying for the cost of nothing in return then you should consider selling it. All that unit is doing is using your units to level up.
@@walksinthedarknessdoes this include chaff? Because I feel like they are all just doing that when I could have spent it on arclightsvor something instead early and not gotten it
@@deathsavearcade3951 chaff are designed to die but if they're dying very quickly then they're not really doing their job. There have been a couple of replays I've seen of a vulcan turning up and just toasting a pack of crawlers who are adding nothing to a fight.
My tip is it to play to your specialists strengths and plan to counter your opponents specialist. I didn't do this when I started and lost many games
Did you lose a round? Why did you lose? Did you win a round? What can your opponent do to win next round? Mecha can be a bit thinky
It's worth watching your replays every now and then, even the ones in which you lose, to understand what you did and what you could have done better!
My top 3 new player tips:
1: Electromag is the fun police.
2: Memes can win even if they lose.
3: Chicken nuggets?
Some sub-1000 MMR tips: It's okay to put down a high level unit card, play a round and let your opponent invest in a counter and then sell it next round.
Find a way to apply EMP, my favorite is marksmen: it counters "raid boss" units by slowing them and stealing their tech.
Rapid fire on high-level marksmen is a great choice: it increases their effective DPS because they overkill by 1/2 as much - it's essentially doubling your marksmen.
Don't overinvest in an army with a single counter, for instance an army of chaff and mustangs. Just a bit of fire will counter your whole army in one round.
It's great to misdirect your enemy. My favorite strategy right now is to set up an aggressive ball strategy in the first two rounds and then spend the next few rounds building a balanced marksmen and chaff army behind it. My opponent finally counters the balls and I promptly sell them, spending money on a counter for their counter.
Stop giving advices with 1000 MMR experience😂 most of the ones u wrote here are shiet.
@@GieKa70 Fair. Also :(
Wow. I had no idea you could sell units. That's such a massive game changer for me.
Thank you for this!!! been looking for a vid like this for a long time, only had outdated vids from Surrey to go off of
Ok, just started yesterday after watching Grubby stream this, and after a full day of grinding was a bit lost on some of the maneuvres going on in my games when I hit 500 mmr and started to struggle. This video answered so many of the questions I had and many I hadn't even thought about at all
This video should be promoted as an official tutorial link in the app after finishing the ingame tutorials. Covers so many of the confusing aspects of Mechabellum I haven't encountered in other auto-battlers yet
Thanks for the video, a bit old, but seems very relevant still. Hopefully I won't be as confused today, as I was on the last few fights yesterday, when enemy suddenly just bulldozed over me to for full 180 and I had no idea what happened... I hadn't even noticed command center had different skills before seeing this vid 😂
Now at 1100 mmr just 4 days played following your advice, amazing stuff
Mechabellum offers an immersive experience, fostering cognitive skills like decision-making and critical thinking. It fosters social interaction and teamwork. Developed by Mechabellum's team, the game promises excitement and challenges. Congratulations to the developers, and best wishes for the game's future success.
This video has already helped me so much. Props man!!!
Play survival mode vs bot. You will learn about how units interact and helps your decision-making. It's quite different gameplay, but teaches you greatly and fun to play!
This is excellent for learning a general purpose army. You cant counter anything cause the bot is random
Exactly the type of guide video i was looking for! 10/10, subscribed and recommended to a friend who also plays. Keep it up dude 👍
The one thing that helped me change from losing every game is having tons of chaff. Normally you'd think not building early game units dont matter esp when so many units one shot them but they make a ton of difference both as distraction and as secondary damage.
One thing to mention: you are wrong about chosing Mechanical Rage for tanks because of the speed; speed is "nothing", range is dominating Mechabellum; every unit you don't want to use as chaff needs range (unfortunately)
BUT Mechanical Rage is THE tech for tanks, because it improves the fire rate dramatically; tanks become beasts afterwards.
Just curious what mmr you are playing at, I also think range is far far better than speed, and love mech rage on tanks (maybe too much) but I’m pretty low mmr.
@@gonetomars3697 approx 15xx MMR; still use mech rage as my main tank tech
@@gonetomars3697 At the current patch of the game putting any techs on sledges is bad maybe mech rage only. speed is important because without the speed stormcallers can hit sledges. with speed they move faster than the stormcallers can be accurate.
I assume what the player was thinking with all the tanks is one of the things I'm trying in my gameplay now (about 10 play hours so far) is that you can replace the first line of chaff with tanky units that hit for some good numbers. Giving your second line of chaff some time to be doing damage and not just being obliterated. In this case, the missle battery guys didn't let that work because of the amount of aoe going on. I'll put things like Rinos or the steel balls with armor and Damage share on that front line instead of chaff often. Could be the wrong way but right now it feels good :)
Hey man, thanks for doing these videos. You're very good at it - keep it up!
Thank you for the video! I can't wait to play this game. Your tips will help me start out strong. I have my steam gift card ready. Tomorrow morning i head to the coffee shop to download and start playing.
thanks for putting this together I just got this game on the last sale and its tremendous !
Many thanks for such a video, I believe we need it to strengthen the basis.
Cool vid 😎 fun game
Lots and lots of good info in this one!
Is there any way to view the replay without the information from the opponent? I feel like it's easier to be critical with all the infromation, but we might have made different decisions had we had the same information from the person we're watching's perspective.
this game is super fun to be honest. 1st time i play this genre and i play a lot off games... the game is verry cheap for the fun you guet. defe recomend!
Diss agree with your first play it's ok to lose first round your tanks you will give range later so you fangs will walk ahead
noob question. is it me or is marksmen specialist a bit weak? its not like you get lvl3 marksmen onwards (which would feel still weak but better)
Clicked for 100 tips and only got 99
Sad
Is this still all or mostly valid after the update?
What's a chaff line?
Chaff = small units that mostly are there to distract your enemy's hard-hitting units, like Crawlers and Fangs :) Chaff buy time for your 'carry' units to do the real damage
Ok but where are the tips? Half of video is yapping
