Honestly I am so tired of all these celebs and influencers displaying and promoting their sickening lifestyle. So glad that people are realising this more and more.
They are. They are all seriously mentally f’ed UP! And we’re told we should praise them and look up to them?? I just feel bad for all the young girls they lie to and destroy mentally.
She needs a doctor that will check her extremely red hands. The lightning makes whatever is going on look insanely worse, but still something worth checking out, because having hands that red with her skin tone isn’t normal.
how in the world of body dysmorphia did the BBL body get popular in the first place? it's beyond me that anyone could think that shape of deformity is aesthetic.
At the pharmacy I work at, we started putting in diagnosis codes that the doctor gives us. So only people diagnosed with diabetes can get the injections. It helps the people who need it.
Great! My mom is in 3rd stage renal failure and cannot take metformin due to the damage it will cause her kidneys. She needs ozempic but has difficulty finding it because of the shortage. Wegovy is for weightloss... ozempic is not. I get off label prescribing to a certain point, but if an epipen was found to make you taller and people who need epipens for life saving allergic reactions can't get it because other people are getting it to get taller then there is a problem. Thanks for not selling the ozempic except to diabetes patients. Good in your pharmacy for sure.
As a former pharmacy technician, I wholeheartedly agree with you, Stephanie! With COVID came shortages of Zithromax and Plaquenil, an antibiotic and medication commonly used for rheumatoid arthritis, because it was THEORIZED that they could possibly help with the severity of the virus. Turned out to be iffy. But, when our patients needed the Zithromax for sinus infections and bronchitis, and my rheumatoid arthritis patients needed their Plaquenil, we had a heck of a time getting it for them. I'm a SAHM now, but my ex-coworkers text me often about the injection shortage. It's so frustrating, and heartbreaking. Some of those patients have gone through the other injectables and landed on this one because it works with the least amount of side effects. And now it's unavailable because some people wanna drop a few pounds? Ridiculous.
@@EmpressLilith222our comment has absolutely ZERO to do with what she "thinks" COVID was or "who" the mystery people are that you are referring to. your tinfoil wearers comment is the only actually odd part in this section
It is creating a shortage of these types of injections for legitimate users (Type II diabetics). My husband has DMII and is having difficulty getting his Rx in a timely manner due to the shortages. He is someone who truly needs this med to help control his blood glucose.
not the same drug, but i rely on a prescription to help me manage my ADHD, and it took me almost a full week to find a pharmacy that could fill my prescription last month. I was literally driving around the entire state, experiencing painful withdrawal symptoms and missing class, at least in part because my medication is being hoarded for recreational use by people who have power and money to throw around. So yea, the people using these life-saving injectables for a goddamn fashion trend are fcking leeches, I didn't even know i could be this disgusted by celebrities. Up till now I would always say that all body types are worthy and valid, but no. if your body type is purchased at the expense of people trying to manage a serious illness, you have the only disgusting body type in the world, I couldn't give less of a fck how thin it is.
Stephanie Lange is the one of the only “beauty gurus” from the 2010s that I still watch. I find her to be trustworthy, honest in her opinions/biases, and and entertaining. I think she wildly underrated but that seems to be the norm for those who aren’t getting into drama or trend-bending, but she proven she has longevity.

They don't diet. They go to a doctor who sculpts their body into the shape they want. There is NO quick fix. Please learn to be happy in your own body. If you feel you need to diet then understand that it takes a LOT if time to both be healthy and lose weight. No decent human wants you skinnier and injured.
There are absolutely quick fixes (without plastic surgery). If you are able to maintain is a different story. I went on adapex several years ago. I was losing a pound a day. I lost 60 pounds in 60 days. It definitely wasn't healthy, but it was a quick fix.
I’ve been dieting for 10 years. In a healthy way. Haven’t lost all the baby weight. I workout everything. Idk why it’s not working. I keep taking a day at a time. It’s not fair bc I get looks like i eat a lot. I don’t. Never have. Actually puked my entire pregnancies. Something changed in my body and I don’t look like myself. Doing what I can. For me it’s incredibly unfair. Other people will drop weight eating how I eat.
@@mermaiddiyartist8119 Well there insta pics are not usually what they're actually eating. Just sayin'. Arguably the amount of alcohol you drink can have an even higher impact on you.
For reference, I lost 7 kilos in 3 weeks, but I spent most of that time in hospital unable to est and vomiting constantly. That is what state your body has to be in to lose that much in such a short span.
You don’t have to be sick to lose this much weight. Fasting is very healthy for you and your body can go a few days without eating. Now, you have to be mindful to NOT turn fasting into eating disorder. Now, when you break the fasting your body will put half of the weight back, it is just natural.
@@jessy7884fasting for days is not healthy, and the weight you lose and regain is mostly water and stored carbohydrates. Intermittent fasting is fairly healthy.
Bet you gain most of the weight back when you felt better also. When you lose weight in that short of time it is mostly water weight. Also if you are in bed to long you can lose weight because of muscle wasting. Fat weight less then muscle even though the fat take more space.
As a diabetic, I took my first dose of Mounjaro - similar to Ozempic - this week. I can't believe anyone would do this just to be skinnier. I'm so sick to my stomach right now, and it's only been a few days. Living in West Hollywood, my medication was _already_ hard to find and expensive - even with insurance - thanks to the demand from these healthy, rich morons who prioritize thinness over everything else. Thank you, Stephanie, for spreading awareness.
You are so correct! Idk how people Like the Kardashian's are taking these injections & acting like it's simple. The side effects are horrible. I'm usually in bed the day following the injection because I feel so bad. Then there comes the days of constipation followed by the random one day of diarrhea.
I was briefly on a medication that has an appetite-killing side effect, and it was genuinely the most miserable I have ever felt in my whole life. I had no energy and couldn't eat for days at a time. Ended up losing 10kg in a month and having to switch to something else. How could people do this to themselves willingly? Just destroy and cut into their bodies for the sake of looking a certain way in pictures? I swear they live on another planet.
My dad was prescribed it for weight loss because he was 370 lbs and dealing with sky high blood pressure. He has not had a fun time but he has dropped about 70 pounds in the last year. He’s a little skeptical about wether it’s healthy but he hadn’t managed to lose the weight through traditional diet and exercise so it seemed like a reasonable step. I can’t imagine wanting to do that to lose a trivial amount of weight tho….
I’m a master Pilates coach and I can tell FOR A FACT that Pilates SHOULD NEVER be advertised as a weight loss option. If any Pilates instructor promises you weigh loss, run for the hills. When I took Pilates I lost weight and inches off my waist. I wish I could find another class that fits my schedule. I miss it. I was in the best shape of my life.
@@blairg8171 that’s amazing. Pilates changes your body and it’s my favorite for me and my clients. You definitely lose inches and certainly can change your body completely. And I'm not saying you'd have to do it forever, but it could help you get to a healthier weight and blood sugar balance. So I still don't get why my suggestion would warrant a reaction like that.
Just today in the pharmacy (in Germany) a woman before me did not get the drug. The pharmacist said it's out of stock because people take it to lose weight. The patient was visibly upset and helpless. Rich people piss me off! How can they do that. 🤮
All very well said Stephanie. I am a 62-year-old woman and I have spent my entire life working out consistently and trying to eat healthy. I have seen so many of these trends come and go in my lifetime and there really is no magic bullet. You have to make good food choices and you have to move around and keep the body active. The medication‘s to lose weight are never worth the risk.
This is the most sustainable approach! Also majority of our immune system is in our gut - eating well, sleeping well, being hydrating ourselves, working our - the “secret” 😊
I am a type 2 diabetic and have been on this medication for a few years. About six months ago it was impossible to find my medication anywhere. It was terrifying that I could have a heart attack or stroke because celebrities want to be thinner. WTF is wrong with this self-centered, selfish, and self-obsessed world.
well then just take one of the numerous other medicine for diabetic people until ozempic or wegovy is back in stock? they litterally have the exact same ingredient.

Living in Denmark where Novo Nordics headquater is. They have announced the drug is meant for extreme obesity. Docs can loose their licens if they don't follow the strict medication rules here and only perscribe to People in this category. USA must be lagging at medication controle.
Medication is a huge issue in the US. Pharmaceuticals are a good chunky of the lobbyists, so we see results like ads on tv, several types of meds that are under prescription free to buy on any Walmart near you and patients being used as Guinea pigs for new drugs without being fully aware of it and consenting to do so.
Thank you for not naming the medication! My mother has type 2 diabetes and that medication has literally been the only medication that has helped her keep her A1C under control and now she's having to ration it and supplement with other less effective meds bc of the shortages. It's been a nightmare for her, right when she finally found a medication that works.
@@xeracalm2023 I’m in Canada and a lot of pharmacies & medical clinics have had to restrict people purchasing these meds because we are having a difficult time as well. It should be allowed to purchase for diabetics until the products have a surplus. It’s so frustrating for anyone in the medical community. I’m glad it’s helped your mother & I hope she’s able to get her medication regularly. People don’t seem to worry about the long term complications of this medication in Non- Diabetic people. People have to take this for the rest of their lives not just to loose 10pounds & there’s no long term studies showing what damage can occur in Non-Diabetic people. It’s very frustrating
My mom is also a type 2 diabetic and she is on this particular medication. I am also a type 2 diabetic but I take a few other medications in pill form to control my blood sugar. My mom will go all day without eating and I was like I don’t want go lose weight that way.
My mom has type 2 diabetes and overweight. Her doctor would’ve prescribed the O medicine for her instead of undergoing a fat removal surgery. But she can’t get the medication since it’s too expensive😞
@@reemismael5557 that’s so heartbreaking that people who really need it to be healthy and alive can’t access it yet people with money & only need it to loose a small amount of weight can’t access it at all! Do check with the companies that make it because there’s always a plan for people who need medication but can’t afford it where they pay a small amount. I can’t remember the name of the plans but it’s basically a hardship clause so please have your mom try that.
My parents met some people who work in the sales of this drug. They literally said “everyone is going to look like crackheads while we get rich. Plastic surgery to fix the effects is going to sky rocket”
Yep there’s a world wide shortage & diabetics are suffering cause rich people want to lose 10-20lbs! My college in Austrailia said last week the whole country is out of these medications. It’s crazy, meanwhile I have patients needing it but can’t get it because it’s back ordered and there’s been a shortage for almost a year. People who actually need it to help their diabetes can’t get it so now they’re going back weight & increasing their risk for stroke, heart attacks, high glucose and cholesterol while they wait. It’s very sad that people have to be put last because they can’t afford to pay jacked up prices & illegal meds. Some illegal injections have been tested & some of them don’t contain any of the actually meds it’s counterfeit & some contain toxic chemicals so I hope no one is buying these online through non reputable places. It’s a sad realization that we’ve been reduced to this point. The study of these meds also aren’t very long term and we’re not tested on non-diabetics so no one knows the effect it has on a healthy pancreas so buyer beware and it’s not like you can just go buy a new pancreas know matter how rich you are. We know that so far people have to take this medicine for the rest of their lives but since it wasn’t tested on healthy people we do know in studies that people have to take this for the rest of their lives or they gain back all the weight plus more. In people with a pancreas that’s not damaged the long term use most probably they will have to take it forever as well but if you damage your pancreas there’s very little hope at that point.
I’m a type 2 diabetic and in the last 6 months I’ve had such a hard time getting my meds because people taking them solely for weight loss! At most 2lbs is the MAX to lose a week for overweight people. Also the thinner you are the harder it is to lose and KK was already thin. Those 16 lbs sound even more sus.
Makes me wonder how everyone would have reacted if she actually lied about how much she lost and said it was less. But she wanted to brag about the big number and it set off everyone's alarm bells.
While I agree, with the fact that these celebrities are lying and doing unhealthy things, it’s simply untrue that 2 pounds max is the only thing that’s possible or the only thing that’s good. It’s completely possible to lose more than this when you do fasting or other types of dieting but of course the heavier you are the more you can lose in one week. My point is that, it is a natural process of your body’s metabolism, and therefore it will look different on different people
100% and if people lose more than that it’s usually muscle & you don’t want to lose muscle because muscles help to burn fat after exercising they keep burning fat.

I totally get wanting to lose weight ESPECIALLY with the social media trends. All I see are skinny fitness influencers and tiny fashionable girls. But that makes me question my motives for wanting weight loss in the first place. I wasn’t happy when I was tiny. Not saying you can’t be. But I wasn’t happy, I wasn’t confident. But social media gives you the illusion that you will be happier if you’re smaller. It’s hard out here.

As a human biologist I am very glad to see such a good video, that’s also well-researched ! I loved that you clarify that even doctors when prescribing ‘real patients’ they weight in pros and cons - its not blindly prescribing things to everyone. People have no idea what they’re doing XD . Keep up the good work!
I have a feeling the entire Kardashian clan will end up spending all that influencer money in just remedying their health issues later in life. I mean no amount of plastic surgery can make a bunch of teens interested in a 50+ woman. So money would stop flowing in, the majority of which is still coming from endorsement irrespective of what the clan wants you to believe that their merch is doing phenomenal or whatever. All is fake just like Kylie Cosmetics.
My 14 year old niece has a friend who is the same age. Her and her mother both went on it and tried to tell my niece she should go on it as well. This is so messed up!! We should all just try eating healthy, exercising, having a good nigh sleep.
Wow, so weird you mentioned this. Today, there was an article in the New York Post talking about these two drugs. They are finding that it's causing intestinal obstruction and can be deadly... 😬
thank you, Stephanie, you are the fist one, whom i am aware of, who intentionally did not mention the name of the medication. and you are totally right
I lost 45 pounds within 5 months but felt sick a lot. In the end I suffered 10 days of extremely severe diarrhea.....so scary. I have a severe binge eating disorder and I gained 30 of the 45 back. I am trying again with my focus on my health, not being skinny. Be careful on this stuff. Also it's very sad that diabetic sufferers have had a shortage in this semiglutide now.
I'm sorry you had that experience. They say slow change is lasting change, so hopefully your new focus on health will result in slow and steady change in the direction you want.
🙌🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 finally someone speaking on this very unhealthy trend. So many influencers selling lies to impressionable people who are risking their health to achieve unattainable body goal that’s impossible to maintain. It’s sad that as a society some people are so vain to use a drug that some peoples lives depends on and can’t access it. Some of the Physicians also need to be held accountable for the role they’re playing in prescribing it.
thanks for talking about this in a way that doesnt make it into a miracle drug and showing anecdotes of people who got off it and things got worse. i walked a lot in college and was thin and then i got a really sedentary job and gained 80-90 pounds, ive lost 25-30 now but thank you for pointing out the lifestyle/diet issues many people need to overcome
How do these people even get the drug so easily without prescription??? There should be so much more restrictions, this is insane Thanks for covering that and calling out the bs as usual Stephanie, that was a super important video!!
They just get a prescription. They probably have a doctor they keep on call all the time. A lot of celebs do that. The doctors make a lot of money and do whatever their bosses tell them. That’s how really rich people get any drug they want whenever they want. It’s not illegal.
@@emilyanne9513 It's not just celebrities. It is mainstream here in Dallas. I have multiple friends on it and they get a prescription and fill it at a compounding pharmacy and pay out of pocket without going through insurance.
I work in healthcare and ALLEGEDLYYYYY some people, including DOCOTRS, have been using it as well to drop weight quickly. As soon as you go off of it, the weight can come back on. It is sad that this is what we have come to - people with legitimate medical concerns are suffering. I do appreciate Chelsea Handler's honesty. I think that in the near future, it is going to be approved for weight loss. So much for healthy. Thanks for your take on things!!!
Thank you. I have type two diabetes and I am on this medication. I get so upset knowing people take this just to be skinny. I finally have normal A1C numbers after struggling with other meds. People just do not understand how hard it is. I am also not a big person if you look at me before I was a small person. I have lost a little weight but I have gained my life back by controlling my diabetes. Thank you for bringing this awareness.
Thank you for saying this. I have type 2 diabetes and one or both of my life saving medications are always low stocked. I have to switch between Trulicity and Ozaempic....whatever is available at the time. Love your channel ❤😊
Thank you for talking about the medication! One of my friends is one of the people who genuinely needs it and she's had to go on other, less effective medication because of these selfish idiots.
Thank you so much Stephanie, for making the lives of young women so much better. You are honestly making such a impact, on me and many other girls/women. Thank you
THANK YOU FOR TALKING ABOUT THIS!! I have been fuming since hearing about this weeks ago. How is noone talking about this and if so, making excuses for these people! This should be criminal!
Ozempic has been low in stock in Australia since Covid hit. I actually can't believe it's only become a celebrity thing recently considering people have been taking it for weight loss for years. My pharmacy, and I'm sure most in Aus, have been restricting the small supplies of it for diabetic customers so anyone looking to get it for weight loss is going to be out of luck. It seems like the situation in the US is very different and of course celebrities would have easy access to it.
If I'm not misremembering it, this drug has been approved for NHS use in the UK as a "treatment" for obesity. Been hearing a lot about it passively on the radio when I've been out and about. It's so sad to me that people would rather take various medications than adjust their lifestyles to lose weight.
My mom who has osteoarthritis, who also needs a knee replacement was told the other day she needs this medication due to her inactivity and help lower her weight to manage the arthritis as well as a possible replacement in the future. BUT she can't receive it because everyone has jumped on it and now those who need it, can't get it. It also doesn't help that we live in a rural area in the US, so people in the healthcare system are the ones taking advantage of it now and none of them even have diabetes, very frustrating.
I am so sick of this..I have a slim thick body shape and it was so cool to be „on trend“ bc I had so much confidence. And now.. skinny is coming back 🙄 why cant we just make „healthy“ the new beauty standard??
Exactly. Our bodies are not trends that go "out of style" 🙄, hopefully soon we realize our unique differences makes us beautiful so we can get over this obsessively toxic culture
You are amazing for actually getting the word out of what is happening and how it is so damaging! It is so saddening to see woman go through these body issues and take damaging dramatic steps to try to “be like” a celebrity. You are amazing Steph. I’m happy for you and Darren on the new baby. Keep up the great work!
Thank you for speaking up about all this nonsensical talk from these celebrities. Shameful they could careless about young impressionable girls that look up to them and willing to mimic their every step.
WARNING: There's a condition called gastroparesis (delayed emptying of the stomach) which means your stomach retains the food for longer periods IN your stomach causing you not to be hungry. It's a disease that will lead to me needing to have surgery to try and correct it AND later in life needing a feeding tube! The "medication" that Steph is talking about has this condition as a side effect!!!!
Yea…that unedited pic of Khloe pushed her over the edge! She was determined to get super skinny no matter what! Kim not being able to zipper up the Marilyn dress was her nail in the coffin! After these instances they both lost a lot of weight in a fast amount of time! I can tell by the loose skin and deflated breast. My aunt used to be on Wegovy for her high blood sugar and the same happened to her. She didn’t get the droopy face but her butt and breast disappeared. Due to the shortage of the medication, she hasn’t been taking it and feels better! She gained a little bit of weight but says she feels more like herself.
My mom is a diabetic and uses that medication. Yes, it has helped her lose weight, as she was overweight, but the MAIN reason was for her diabetes. It makes me sad to think that the medication could run out for her, or others who suffer from diabetes because rich celebrities who are already thin, want to look thinner and use it all.
It's not even remotely just celebrities taking this. I have multiple friends taking this to drop pounds and we are just regular peeps. They get it from a compounding pharmacy and pay cash/avoid insurance and the diabetes diagnosis (bc they don't have diabetes)
@@Summerdee223 😳😬omg horrible but thanks for sharing. As I tell my patients there’s no long term studies of this med for Non-Diabetics and you can’t just buy a new pancreas. People who are diabetic have chemical & physical damage in their pancreas so giving these meds to Non-Diabetics most likely damage their pancreas so even millionaires can’t buy this organ. Also it has to be taken for the rest of their lives not just temporarily to lose ten pounds. In the studies people gained all the lost weight back and in most cases they gained significantly more weight back once they stopped.
As a type 2 diabetic, i can honestly say that this is upsetting and needs to stop! My dr prescribed me a similar medication to help me lose weight and manage my diabetes because it was difficult for me to lose weight. To think i wouldn't be able to access it knowing that i needed it, just pisses me off. I actually didnt end up taking this medication because i couldn't afford it but its still upsetting that there are people like me out there that need said medication and cannot access it. This type of medication shouldn't even be available to anyone that isnt a diabetic.

Your channel is the only one that makes me feel better about my physical appearances and I really appreciate that you don’t say the drug’s name because any mention of it is basically advertising it 😢 tiktok makes me feel like shit and your channel helps me realize I’m not as worthless as I feel so thank you❤

Interesting! Thankyou for sharing this, especially about the person who went on it and then gained all the weight back. My endocrinologist has been wanting me to go on it for about a year and a half now but I’ve refused, trying to take a holistic approach and lose weight, lower my insulin resistance. It’s not working and I have considered trying it after I’ve had our first child, this has definitely made me think twice about the after affects and asking about that Thankyou ❤
Honestly I am so tired of all these celebs and influencers displaying and promoting their sickening lifestyle. So glad that people are realising this more and more.
Exactly! Like how can a certain shape of a HUMAN BODY be a trend? Sickkk
They are dumb, however people need to start displaying some common sense as well.. doing something harmful because a celebrity does it is equally dumb

Ridiculous.
😮 you still think covid was what THEY said it was? Interesting and odd.

not the same drug, but i rely on a prescription to help me manage my ADHD, and it took me almost a full week to find a pharmacy that could fill my prescription last month.

It definitely wasn't healthy, but it was a quick fix.

why what happened?
You don’t have to be sick to lose this much weight.
Fasting is very healthy for you and your body can go a few days without eating. Now, you have to be mindful to NOT turn fasting into eating disorder. Now, when you break the fasting your body will put half of the weight back, it is just natural.
@@jessy7884 Saying fasting is healthy is a sweeping generalization, it's healthy for some, not most.

I've read before Botox was originally meant to help people with cerebral palsy and look what happened with that...
I’m a type 2 diabetic and in the last 6 months I’ve had such a hard time getting my meds because people taking them solely for weight loss! It’s insanity and it makes me angry because it makes it very difficult for people who actually desperately need it to get it! Celebrities are selfish and doctors are stupid!
AGREED!! Its fucking twisted and sad!!
Commenting to say i appreciate you saying “type 2 diabetes” vs just diabetes. As a type 1, I’m happy to see people making the difference. Nothing wrong with t2d at all but they are veryyyyyy different 🙂
As someone who has been on this medication for almost two years because I am diabetic...this makes me so mad. I recently had to wait 3 weeks for my medication because the pharmacy couldn't get it. And as you mentioned, the side effects when you first start taking it are incredibly painful and downright miserable. I'm having to go through that all over again just to probably detox from it and have my health jeopardized AGAIN.
I'm sorry for you about that. I was in that same predicament this winter, it's awful. Thankfully our area has it in stock again now.
We were just told that stock are back in adequate supply & Im in a African country. We had no stock for the last 5 months. We are just scared that ppl are going to start hording it because they are scared they will run out.
This is horrible to hear! I’m so sorry. Would you mind if I used this comment in a video I’m working on discussing these shortages and it’s affects on people that ACTUALLY need it?
@@empathictimes I don't mind at all! Thank you for bringing this to people's attention because this is a major problem.
@@loyolachick2012 Thank you. And yes, it is a major problem. Still can't believe it and really hope that something can change and reign in this celebrity culture that we are seeing is so devastating on so many levels.
The fact that they’re STILL denying having these procedures is what really gets me. Do what you want if it makes you happy, but to pretend like you’re natural is so harmful to not only their fans but society in general. Especially teens and young adults.
I love how Stephanie constantly calls women beautiful even in pics that they don’t like of themselves. Goes to show that we’re our own worst critics, but she’s so kind-hearted in reminding us that we’re still gorgeous❤️❤️
Word to the wise, if a man calls a woman beautiful, she's beautiful, if a woman calls a woman beautiful, she's fat
hello, i recovered from an ED and wanted to say that your videos are so helpfull and needed at the media, i do recomend you share a little about others that talk/post about body positivity cus the more people see others talking about body positivity and sharing real bodies the better for getting better too. this thing is so harmfull, and worse, so supported by society thank u a lot for these videos. hope everyone find their own ways to be happy with themselves truly, find people who are good at knowing about it, and be yourselves, without wanting to be for others.
They also vomit and have bowel issues. It also costs $1200 to 1700 per month..
I'm a medical coder in the US and I will say even our providers aren't weighing the risk vs reward. They're out here prescribing it like candy and it's a disturbing trend I'm seeing in the medical field as well.
They've never done that before. I'm shocked. 😂
Does it feel a little like trends? I wonder about pharma reps etc..
Thank you for saying this. My gastro doctor asked if I was interested in being put on a semaglutide and I was like absolutely not (I’ve had a binge eating disorder and bulimia in the past and I’m currently trying to get pregnant). I couldn’t believe he would recommend that to me. Truly wild.
@@maryellen9503 it does feel like a trend. I've been doing this for almost 6 years and when I started coding these particular charts, they would sometimes consider something like phentermine or welbutrine, but now every other chart of a patient with obesity they're being offered this drug. It's so frustrating cuz there's nothing I can really do other than do my job and know it's not the best option for weight loss.
@@nikkicrisp8563 that is so crazy, I hate seeing this happening. I just don't understand why everyone is treating it like some miracle drug. And the side effects are awful!
My mom is Type 1 and took this drug to control her glucose levels after her meals and she nearly died from it. Her glucose levels were out of control after each meal so her endocrinologist gave her this drug for short term use until her glucose levels settled. She became even skinnier than she was and it devastated her.
I can’t believe people are taking this for fun 😡😡😡😡
This drug is not indicated for Type 1 diabetes. She should sue her doctor for malpractice if they gave her this drug. Your mom should be on insulin. Is it possible you're confusing this with insulin? (they're both self-administered shots).
sickening. why cant people just workout normally instead of stealing drugs for their own benefit. im on many drugs and if i dont take them i cant even function, if my drugs were out of stock i dont know what i can do
It's not "for fun" though. I would think that if someone is willing to go to such a great length to lose weight then they have a ED, possibly a mental problem too
Or they are shallow af like the Kardashian clan..
It is indicated for diabetics who are obese. I do not understand why a Dr would give it to her if she was not obese.
You are nothing short of a literal queen for making and uploading these videos. Please don’t ever stop. Our society desperately needs more content like this. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Sincerely, a 29 year old with over a decade of disordered & deadly habits that stemmed from growing up in the early 2000’s.
Hello from another 29 year old 👋✨ gosh i remember the early 2000s and the damage it did to how we view our bodies 😳 in 8th grade to sophomore year of high school, I used to do the 8 almonds for breakfast thing, encouraged by my mom, because she was so worried I was gonna be overweight (obesity runs in my dads side, diabetes runs on my moms side). I was beginning to look a bit gaunt, my sister brought it to my attention, and I stopped. I just wished my mom noticed how bad it was. Glad those days are over. I still struggle with loving my body as it is, but i figure as long as im doing my best to actually be healthy, then thats all that matters 💜 hope all is well!

This is your calling!! 🙌✨

Me 5’7 on a appropriate calorie deficient losing 1 pound a week, Kim 5’ losing 16 in 3 weeks 🙄 she’s lying to people who have no idea about weight loss. That’s not how it works.
My point is that, it is a natural process of your body’s metabolism, and therefore it will look different on different people
its 1-1.5% of your bodyfat a week, not 2 lbs.
100% and if people lose more than that it’s usually muscle & you don’t want to lose muscle because muscles help to burn fat after exercising they keep burning fat.
@@EmpressLilith222 I honestly don't think this is possible. Three years ago I had to get my tonsils out and for three weeks straight I did not really eat at all. I did have two or three ice popsicles a day to help me with the pain but was not able to eat because the pain I had was horrible. During those 3 weeks I only lost 3 kg. I was 28 when I got them out and I am 5'3 and my weight was 62 kilograms and I got to 59 kilograms at the end.
I agree with you 100%. There is no quick fix when it comes to weight loss. Slow and steady is the way to go.
10:50 it doesn't change your mindset about food. It just prevents you from wanting food basically. If you don't change your relationship with food, you'll always put it back on and some
So glad you are bringing attention to this "trend" it is so dangerous, I am still struggling with and ED into my 40s but I fear EDs will be on the rise.
I'm 21 and struggling with an ED as well. Getting medication that's also supressing my appetite has been horrible and has messed up my relationship with food real Bad. I honestly hope to be a rare case but I just know that's not the case...
I have been struggling with anorexia for 24 yrs and all I see is an increase in society=it’s horrifying to watch😢
I’ve had anorexia for 35yrs. I’m currently struggling hard not to relapse, and doing a bad job at it. This last time I was out of remission, I had seizures, a mini stroke, lost my hair, developed boils, and more. I feel the trend of dropping weight fast is most certainly going to cause ED relapse. I have a therapist, psychiatrist, general doctor who all help me to stay in recovery. I’m just not doing so well. And now that skinny fast is a thing, it’s triggering me. I’m lucky to have a medical team to help me through it. I shudder to think what may happen to those who don’t.
To everyone that has posted here so far, I’m so sorry to hear about your struggles ❤️ be proud of yourselves though!! EDs are so hard and all we can do is try our best. Be kind to yourselves because you’re all doing amazing!!
What are people going to do when they go off this medication and gain double the weight back???? You guys this is why there is no quick fix without repercussions. Do your absolute best to be healthy through the proper diet and exercise for your abilities at the moment. Be gentle with yourself. Appreciate yourself at every stage.
Exactly
I totally get wanting to lose weight ESPECIALLY with the social media trends. All I see are skinny fitness influencers and tiny fashionable girls. But that makes me question my motives for wanting weight loss in the first place.
I wasn’t happy when I was tiny. Not saying you can’t be. But I wasn’t happy, I wasn’t confident. But social media gives you the illusion that you will be happier if you’re smaller. It’s hard out here.
Or the opposite side of the coin and make skinny girls believe they’re not thick enough for a man. I’ve always got that my whole life. People always laughing saying I should eat a sandwich, that only dogs want bones and blah blah blah. It’s hurtful and I’ve always struggled to gain weight. People should just keep their mouths shut and do what’s best for their life and their body smh. I got rid of my instagram after seeing all these slim thick girls and crying because I know that I’ll never be able to gain weight and I’ll never look like that. It’s all so damaging and they need to stop promoting comparison. It’s the thief of joy 😔
😅😊lol , other girls get a lot of attention and acceptance and jobs and staff like that , black girls not so , you have to have light skin to benefit from these trends , socially trends and racism are moving along together
I love how you just made me feel better about myself tonight
I tell people to follow you all the time… especially my daughter, my nieces all their friends they’re definitely needs to be more women like you to teach these young girls what real is. Because of this my Dad can't get this drug for his diabetes on a regular enough basis. It has side affects that take 6 months for your body to adjust to. My Dad having to continuously change his medication to what he can access, is dramatically affecting his life. I'm in 🇦🇺 this is causing global issues! It is the height of selfishness! 😤

I don't understand why the elder Kardashian sisters still care about body trends. To me that's the beauty of being in your 30's/40's. You tend to start caring less about beauty/body trends, and start to feel more comfortable in your own skin, compared to the pressures teens/20's feel.
Because when you turn 30, you will understand all these body standards are stupid and you start to know what your worth is in.
I guess because of money, to stay trendy and set up trends and so on...everything about money
Because they are worth billions. If your livelihood relied on your brand you would act the same way lol
Because they refuse to accept the fact that they are aging. Look at Kris Kardashian. I don’t know how many face lifts she’s had at this point.
They made their fortunes off of launching new body trends, so obviously this will still be top of mind for them. I’m sure they’re absolutely terrified of aging. They will be nipped and tucked until they die.
As someone with diabetes who was prescribed that drug but couldn’t get it because of the shortages, it’s frustrating.
Hi i just wanna come out and say you’re helping so many women and girls like genuinely have been watching ur videos for over an hour now and i already kind of feel better about myself and am rethinking the way i eat and everything i see on social media. Correction……. Khloe has been treating her body like the mirror of the unhealed trauma she has. [And I say this because it takes one to know one.]
Which is fine but to project her “results” as natural and diet free as she boldly claims is dangerous for so many reasons . I’m not saying this to invalidate your trauma and I applaud your honesty and ability to overcome , but you’re also not preaching and pushing some unattainable body image for the world to see
@@shawnmac7046 Totally agreed and I’m thankfully far enough away from where I had a direct correlation that I see it for what it is. She is still in the thick of it and hasn’t processed the trauma. So it is making her do things to try to grab as much control over what she can control. And sadly then projecting very unhealthy beauty standards. The whole family does. I think of these 20YO girls spending thousands and thousands to get BBLs and injections and Botox. It’s horrible. Especially if now the slim-thick physique is “out”. They can’t just change their body again with a phone call the way the Kardashians can. The younger generation has been influenced so horribly via SM. They will have a lot to overcome.
The Kardashians have all Trauma
Exactly. You're exactly right. It's truma.

This video was eye-opening! The drug in question is promoted in weight loss forums ALL THE TIME and I considered asking for it. Now that I know it's a diabetic medication I'll be avoiding it. Me losing the weight isn't nearly as important as people getting life-saving medications.
Agree, using drugs (and causing scarcity for those who need them) and lying is hypocrisy that need to be expose and condemned
One of my great achievements is that I'm with a weight loss clinic, and they were going to put me on wegovy, but I lost enough weight between visits that they decided not to
Thank God
Thankyou for speaking about this.
I'm a type 2 diabetic. This drug was the only medication that controlled and stabilised my blood sugar. I'm now on 4 injections of insulin a day and things are not going well.
I am not alone. There are many of us who require this drug for health reasons and we are put on lengthy waiting lists .
I share your anger and frustration.
Thank you so much for making these kinds of videos!! I suffer from body dysmorphia since I’m like 5 years old and your videos do help me a lot!! ❤
Well, it is the same celebrities that got a BBL. One in three thousand die within seconds because of the procedure.
thank you, Stephanie, you are the fist one, whom i am aware of, who intentionally did not mention the name of the medication. and you are totally right
I lost 45 pounds within 5 months but felt sick a lot.
It's so sad how after reading the first sentence I wanted to ask how you did it, I'm happy you're focusing on your health ❤️
I'm sorry you had that experience. They say slow change is lasting change, so hopefully your new focus on health will result in slow and steady change in the direction you want.
They change their body for Men instead of for themselves!! Pitiful 😡
There should be so much more restrictions, this is insane
Thanks for covering that and calling out the bs as usual Stephanie, that was a super important video!!
They get it with a prescription! If you can afford to go to an "anti-aging" doctor, they will prescribe it for weight loss, sickening!
Simple, they pay cash for it.
Hollyweird has so many loopholes
Thank you for educating us girl I love coming here and getting a reality check
If I'm not misremembering it, this drug has been approved for NHS use in the UK as a "treatment" for obesity. Been hearing a lot about it passively on the radio when I've been out and about. It's so sad to me that people would rather take various medications than adjust their lifestyles to lose weight.
I get it but it’s also so disappointing people still think there’s a magic quick fix
I 100% agree with you. This is truly insane!
I am so sick of this..I have a slim thick body shape and it was so cool to be „on trend“ bc I had so much confidence. And now.. skinny is coming back 🙄 why cant we just make „healthy“ the new beauty standard??
And why does there only have to be one specific standard at a time? There’s tons of different looks and aesthetics that are absolutely beautiful!
You should just say I have so much confidence saying body types are trends is pure bs
we should start ignoring these influencers
Exactly. Our bodies are not trends that go "out of style" 🙄, hopefully soon we realize our unique differences makes us beautiful so we can get over this obsessively toxic culture

You are amazing Steph. I’m happy for you and Darren on the new baby. Keep up the great work!
I am really really concerned about the people who need this medication.

@@Summerdee223 wow, I thought it was hard to come by!
@@katherinebrown5720 the rest of school is useless either way so I don't need medication for it, teachers genuinely appreciate me just being quiet and staring at a random wall while I daydream about solving the problem of bad airplane food or something like that
@@limpchees gotchya, thank you for your response!
Honestly I applaud you for not naming the drug or handing it to anyone. No name = no hashtag. Unfortunately its too late but if everyone went about this the way that you have im sure this drug would be a lot less viral and a lot less of an issue.
Interesting! Thankyou for sharing this, especially about the person who went on it and then gained all the weight back. My endocrinologist has been wanting me to go on it for about a year and a half now but I’ve refused, trying to take a holistic approach and lose weight, lower my insulin resistance. It’s not working and I have considered trying it after I’ve had our first child, this has definitely made me think twice about the after affects and asking about that
Thankyou ❤
Thank you for creating awareness. I agree with you 100%
