A small addition to your #1 tip about fist-making . . . . I definitely find that the more you tighten down your fist, the harder that fist becomes, and the harder it will hit, and the less it will hurt you. Of course you can't hold it maximally tight at all times, but just as you strike, do your best to make that fist an absolute rock and it will hit like a rock.

This was one of the most memorable parts of the beginners lesson with Shogo. I remember clearly when you demonstrated how positioning your shoulders and punches made a difference upon how a body can be pushed back. Amazing Yusuke!
I engage in a modified version of MMA training particularly for self-defense purposes and scenarios; but I'm not that confident with my punches, so I prefer to use power open-hand or palm strikes, and my kicks are also pretty good.
Sir you are the best 👍💯 sir i am a intermediate level karate player sir please recommend me a playlist of Basics, mistake, tutorials and everything about karate 🥋 explain in that video playlist........ Please sir❤❤❤❤❤
I’ve always been told to keep my wrist straight at all times. The new dojo I’m going to is telling me to bend my wrist when doing a high punch so my knuckles slat flat. Is this a good idea? It just seems like a good way way to break my wrist.
@@KarateDojowaKu We'll be in that region. Maybe I'll come by & we can discuss martial arts. My son is also a Black Belt in Kajukenbo, which is a Tang Soo Do Karate (Ka) Judo & Jujitsu (Ju) Kenpo Karate (Ken) & Chinese Boxing (Bo). My system Bok Fu also includes Kenpo from the same family tree.
Yesterday was my first class in karate ...to be honest it is hard for me to remember the moves...but this really helped me out...hope u soon make a video on kata movement , I'm sorry did u did already?...but , anyway this helped me a lot
Awesome! Have mistakes with almost all the points... My thumb...my wrist (got hurt a lot, especially the left which is the weaker one ) ... The hikite hand : I can't pull back enough I think because of my wide shoulder blade or thick upper arm... It always seems like my elbow stands out... But I can't push it nearer to my body... Or should I force that? Appreciate if you could give some advice! Thank You!
I have a doubt. I started Shotokan and I was taught that the elbow should go behind your torso but due to poor shoulder extension (I'm working on it!) I can't take the elbows all the way back. Is it commonly taught that way?
The thing is i do boxing so today in a friendly 1 v 1 i k.o a guy with 1 2 uper cut combo and my sir shouted at me so i came here to see 😂 and yea it was in my karate class
Bc its only a thing drill to beginners to make sure they move the hips and pull back the hand after you learn how most schools only have advanced people do it in katas but sparring and pads never
Do you know any other tips? Please share it with the community! 👍
Punch in a straight line, not in curves.
@Karate Dojo waKu For example, Bassai dai, Enpi And Jion It's to bad when i record it in my phone

A tip: When you punch, draw your power from the ground. A good, well balanced position determines an effective outcome in your strikes.
Totally agree! A workout to improve that body movement is coming out tomorrow, so please check it out!

I want to learn karate from you but japan is so far from my country.
This is awesome content, the grip is really strong. Any tips on thumb mobility? If it hurts or something
Are you having issues?
@@Horus-Lupercal A little. I feel like I need some stretching in my thumb
@@gomesbandrey do you mean you can’t lock your thumb at the correct position?
@@KarateDojowaKu I couldn't when I first tried, but after a little stretching it became ok. It's just a new move for my body
영상 잘보고 갑니다👍 good

What part of Japan are you in? My family & I are trying to go to Tokyo & Osaka/Kyoto next year. Depending on the Pandemic conditions.

What is the difference between oi zuki and kizami zuki?
I've taken a few shots to the solar plexus. It hurts terribly and you can't breath. I suppose that's why it's one of the main targets in karate.
Karate basic blocking and basic kicking
Wouldn’t it be better to aim attacks to the neck and head?
Thanks for the video iam green belt
I'm more on palm strike. I seldom throw punches hehe
Do you wear gloves in your practice?
I guess that’s an option too!
We do wear gloves and shin guards during sparring. But I prefer not wearing one during pads spar.
I think if you're bareknuckle fighting someone, palms are an option, if in gloves, fists are superior.

Why karatecas keep opening a whole side when punching. I think that it is time to change that. I never saw a karateca doing hikite on a real combat.
