I've came back to this time and time again it's such a nice easy stich with great texture and a very easy video to follow! Thank you for making this
This Canadian gal loves it. I'm starting this now using variegated colors & see how it turns out. If I don't like it with the various colors I'll frog it & do a solid color. I'm making small baby blankets ranging from 12x12" through to 30x30" for IC units for these babies that are hooked up to various machines due to their size & medical conditions. Then I'll make matching beanies
Lovely easy pattern with an affective finish. Thank you for a clear tutorial.
I'm currently working on an afghan in the marshmallow stitch, and loving it. I think I will love the puff shell stitch just as much!
Love the pattern. Always enjoy the shell stitch, goes real fast and always looks great. Started the pattern and extremely happy with it. Love, love, love it. Super easy. Thank you for sharing. Can't wait to try some of your other patterns and stitches!
You made this very easy to do! I’m definitely going to make a blanket with this stitch.
Happened on your channel when searching for baby afghan crochet and found this tutorial. Made this blanket for my grandbaby due in August. Oh how pretty! Used a fan border found on you tube to finish off and I couldn't be happier. Your instructions were very clear and this is a perfect stitch for a baby afghan. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE IT!!! Thank you so much for sharing your talent with us!
That sounds amazing April! 💗

Thank you so much. You’re a great teacher ! I love ❤️ the pattern!
This is so pretty Rebekah. You are so right! I think it is beautiful in the Caron Simply Soft and would make a beautiful baby blanket. And I can see how using a chunkier yarn would make a wonderful scarf! Thanks for another great tutorial!
Thank you Thea! I hope you're well :)
I am! You as well Rebekah!💕
Lovely pattern.
Fab tutorial. Thank you 😊
Hi Thanks for this, I have used shell stitch before but never thought to go into the back loop. It is indeed three D. Thank you for uploading this video. I too get confused with the English and American terminology. I was taught originally by my Mum the English way, I think there are only a couple of you still using English terminology on UA-cam, well done we should not let our craft language disappear. Look forward to more of your videos. Barbara
Thank you for your lovely comments! 💗
Love it, thanks for sharing! 😊
Very nice and will be doing this soon, thank you.
This is so beautiful, I'm definitely going to try this out. I'm finding it extremely difficult to read crochet patterns as I'm still in the beginners stage. Can I put in a request on how to read patterns pretty please 🙏☺️
Thank you for this tutorial. My baby blanket turned out great.

How lovely this is, thank you for helping us to make such pretty blankets, it is also so easy, but at times I look at the end of the rows ha! I am 75 years young and love to crochet. You are the best!!!!!!! . sincerely, Maria from Holland, who lives in the U.S.
I love this pattern! I started working on a blanket using this pattern in Lion Brand Pound of Love and it’s working up very nicely. This is a very simple pattern that is quickly memorized but looks as if it’s very complicated. Thank you for sharing!
I’m so glad you like it 💗

I love this pattern so I decided to start making it this evening. What do you do when you get to the size needed and then you want to put a border on it. Any suggestions for how to make the top scallops a straight line.?
Thanks for your detailed video tutorial. It’s a pretty pattern.
Love this!!
Beautiful pattern now you have a new subscriber
OMG, I love it! I am going to make a baby blanket with this stitch! Thank you for showing me how. You explain everything so nicely! Keep up the good work 👍
Thank you for explaining and going slow
You're welcome! 🌸
Hi, love your patterns! The video was great for the 3D Puffed Shells Blanket. It would be easier for me if I could follow written instructions. Are there any available? Thank you so much!
I am trying to make this baby blanket do you have to make a half a half a fan on every row pls
Thanks for the tutorial, I was just curious as to how you'd end it to make a straight edge for when you're done with your length of the blanket?
I’m not sure how I missed this tutorial but I love it!!!
Beautiful blanket. How many shells would you need across to make a baby blanket and is there an edging for this blanket.
Beautiful design
You are the best!!! I would like to try a border, can you help me? Love this stitch so much!
I have already made one with this pattern thanks to you it was easy than I thought it would be am on my second one of this pattern 💜
This is a beautiful pattern. It is a great tutorial except not very welcoming. I realize American terminology is silly but it exists. I know and approve of UK technology but it would have been nice to have you mention it for persons who are unaware of the difference. I can only assume that you don't care if Americans subscribe or not. In the grand scheme of things it doesn't matter. It is your channel, after all. Thank you so much for sharing this beautiful work and for the video tutorial. ✌🏻🐾🥰🧶🇺🇸
Beautiful pattern
hi 👋 I was wondering if you have any videos of crocheting baby booties or crocheting a baby pacifier? I am having a nephew pretty soon &' would love to learn to make them for his baby shower pls let me know would really appreciate it thank you ! just thought id ask you're always very specific on what you do !
Rebekah - I love your tutorials, very easy to follow for a beginner like me. I'm going to make this as a baby blanket. I want to change colors and think it would be fairly simple just pull up the new color at the end of the row (I hope). What edging would you suggest?
Thanks!
Tammy
Help! I just completed the body of the your puff shell stitch baby blanket and I love the texture of the stitch. As you suggested, I am trying to add your simple frills border. However, I'm struggling with how to add the first row of the border to the top of last row of shell stitches. When I add a US single crochet to each stitch of the shell I lose the puff of the top row of shells. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.
Thank you so much for this stitch, it’s beautiful how much yarn will I need to make Afghan please let me know so I can start making it😊
thank you👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻😘
I just learned how to Crochet a few weeks ago and I never understood how to hold the yarn with ur left hand. Like knitting I hold my yarn and crochet hook all in my right hand. It's Soo much easier 😫
What type of border would work well with this stitch for a baby blanket? Just love this stitch!
That's a good question! I just did a couple of rows of UK doubles and then my Simple Frills border as I wanted to keep it pretty simple to show off the stitches :)

Thank you for your prompt reply...
perhaps I will try that also. I am using your pattern and working on a baby blanket. It looks beautiful and appears to be more intricate than what it is. Again, thank you for a great video and also your quick reply. ☺
So pretty!

Can i use barnet thick yarn fir this ? What needle woyld i use

How many stitches for a baby blanket 👶🏻Beautiful
Do you think this pattern would look good with RED HEART OMBRÉ yarns?
Is there a written pattern?
Beautiful 😘😘😘
I'm a bit confused...you chained 18 + 2, I chained 24 + 2...followed your directions, got towards the end and did a shell, skipped 2 and did my single stitch...but I still have 3 chains left. How do I finish off that row since I've just done the single already? Help! lol
how many chains is good for a baby blanket
Love this stitch. Am pretty new at this.....what dimensions do you use for a baby blanket?
Hi, if I’m doing a basket/pram size then I do approx 26” x 30” but that’s just my personal preference. If it’s for a cot or something then I just look at average cot sizes online 😊
How do you cast off once finished with the blanket.?
Do you have a border to go with this patyern
Was interested in making this blanket, but nowhere can I find the yardage needed.
Can I do this with Baby soft yarn like Yarn Bee Softee
Yes absolutely 🥰
Do you have a border to go with this pattern
or crocheting a baby bottle would also be creative for a baby shower pleasee let me know! !!
I am doing the puff shell blanket, is the a particular edging I could use to finish it off please ?
There's not necessarily a specific one - you can use anything you fancy... I've done a simple Moss Stitch one and one finished with a simple frill border. There's a border playlist on my channel if you need a little inspiration, hopefully this helps.
I love this stitch and have used it to make a toddler blanket which is almost finished. I not sure whether to put a border on the blanket or just leave it as is. What border would you suggest if I decide to do one, I was thinking probably just a plain treble crochet all round? Thanks.
Hi Alison, yes a simple border will be beautiful with this stitch, you could finish it off with my really simple frill border, that would also look lovely! Rebekah
Blossom Crochet Thank you so much Sarah Jane x
Oops, didn't realise your name was Sarah Jane, I went from your screen name, apologies!
Blossom Crochet sorry this is my fault, I thought you were Sarah Jane but I think I’ve got you mixed up with someone else! Not to worry, we all make mistakes x
Oh! Don’t worry at all! I’m so glad you have made something from my tutorial 💗😊
How would you do a straight edging for this?
I love this pattern and your tutorials. I have to just stop getting confused between the UK and US lingo. I keep messing myself up.
That will come, don’t worry... it can get confusing. 💗
I have been doing this with the Flutterby Chenile yarn, but mine does not seam as bumpy as your as suggestions what could be wrong. Any help would be appreciated xx
+heathy720 Hi there, sometimes when using chenille yarn, definition can get lost in the ‘fluffiness’.., that’s all I can think of really that may be causing the issue. I’m sure it still looks lovely though and that yarn is so soft and squishy!
Blossom Crochet thank you, I love your videos, yes it looks nice 😁. I have learnt so much from your tutorials , so thank you xx
Could I use dk wool for this pattern and if so what hook size would u recommend in UK terms. X
Absolutely, any yarn is fine and just use the hook that your yarn recommends. Hope that helps!
How can I download this pattern
Can I do this stitch with a chuncky yarn?
Hi, yes you can :)
What size hook please
How come you never say how many yards of yarn we need for the blanket and what size is the blanket 😊
It's very different to state how much yarn is required. It depends on the size you are making, plus the hook size & your tension
How much woolpls
