Beautiful pattern. I have been crocheting for many years and Crystal is by far the best teacher on all of UA-cam. She never leaves you wondering what??? She always shows her work up close so seeing the stitch she is working in is always clear. The last thing I love about her is her upbeat comments when she says ...see it’s easy and know you can do it!!! Keep up the awesome tutorials.
I'm going to use super saver and make a rug for my bedside. I don't have anyone to make baby blankets for and this would make an awesome rug!!
You could always fonate the blankets , I donate to the homeless.
That's gonna feel so cushiony on your toesies!! 😁
jillibeens57 amazing idea!!!! Use up all the extra yarn I have?!
I am so bad at math. Maybe someone would help me. I want to make this blanket for my daughter. She is 5 feet 9 inches tall. I want it to be able to cover her. If I do 78 inches long (tall) and say 60 (+2) wide (starting chain) How many yards would I need? And I would want enough to do a border.
So 62" X 78" = 4,836 inches
4836 ÷ 603 (yards per 10 oz cake)= 8.02 Cakes???
Did I figure this right? If I buy the same Caron yarn Crystal used for this project.
Thanks in advance.
Great idea! Im quilting a coverlet for Spring. It has green blocks w flowers & butterflies & black patterned sashing. A rug by bed would be awesome.
Thanks for the idea and thanks to C for the tute.🙋
You are a wonderful and beautiful person, for all you do for us. You give us beautiful patterns, and show us all the new yarns, plus give aways. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
A wonderful pattern with such a great finished project! No babies here but will be making some for wheel chair lapghans and regular size too. Thanks so much!
Making this blanket for my nieces ( I refer to ask my #1 adopted daughter ) baby that is due in April.. Crystal I have just within this past year became a gma .. I have came back time after time and looked through your many tutorials for blankets , hats little girl dress , baby doll dresses , what a gem you are ! Thank you for your hard work ... many of my family members reap the rewards of your hard work 🤗.. you taught me to crochet only 2 years ago and now on account of your dedication to your YARNY PEEPS my gbabies will have something from mommamaw... we are expecting my 3 grand baby , little boy, in June.. MY baby is now having a baby .. she is all over Pinterest asking me if I can crochet this or that ... I can saw proudly , again cause of you , yes baby girl I can do that 😌😊😍🥰😉
Catching up on tutorials. My goal is to watch all of your tutorials! This blanket looks like it would be difficult, but it's not! I think it would be nice and warm with those puffs.
It's so pretty! It looks like mossy pebbles. I think it would look amazing as a bath rug, make it out of cotton in those colors and it would be perfect!
This blanket is fabulous and in my favorite colors - - - all greens. A friend’s
mom gave me her entire hoard of yarn when she was downsizing with an entire legal sized tote box crammed full of all sorts of green yarns similar to your puffy blanket colors. I will finally be able to use up this yarn inspired by your puffy baby blanket !!
Such a pretty blanket! It's going on my list to make. So excited, love it! Making blankets is my favorite project. I give them to cancer patients. You rock Crystal!! 😁♥️
I love how both sides are the right side. Thank You. 😊
Awe that's beautiful it's like a mossy knoll for a baby👶 to lay on.
I have just found out that my cousins daughter is having a baby, and was looking for a textured blanket that I thought I could manage as I've only been crocheting for about 6 months, I'm in love with the texture of this blanket and hope to do it justice as soon as I find some wool. Just about everything I'm learning is from Crystal, she is an excellent tutor. I find it so useful that she tells everyone the yarn and amount required plus the needle size that she uses on the project that's being done. Thank you so much for your excellent tuition and yarn talks Crystal, not sure I'd have persisted if I hadn't found your channel.🥰
I actually love it without a border 💝! I agree with you. It is a beautiful Baby Blanket but this pattern would make a beautiful Afghan or a Lap Blanket, Rug, Wall Hanging, etc. Thank you for sharing 😊💝!
Remind me of the rocky road baby blanket, so pretty
Nice. Thank you. I plan to make this for this year's blanket
Lovely, cozy blanket, I did the same stitch only using five dc instead of seven- thank you🌸
Loved this pattern. I made a green and off white blanket with 12 row stipes. It is gorgeous, my husband loves it. It is huge too. Tall men deserve extra long afghans. Thank you
Crystal is how I learned to crochet! All the way back to 2015ish or so! I actually started writing patterns within 2 years of learning to crochet because of the easy way you relay the tutorials.
So happy I found you and learned this awesome skill!
Thank you Crystal!
You’ve done it again! It amazes me how you’re able to come up with these great designs that goes so beautifully with the yarns you select! Thank you for another wonderful tutorial.
The color combo is brilliant. If I squint, I feel like I was looking at a mountain range or hills..... soo pretty
I LOVE THIS BLANKET!!! ❤️ I've had this blanket on my list for the longest time and now I finally have the perfect yarn for it. It's going to be so great! You're the best, Crystal 🙏💗
Doesn't need a border. Georgous as is . Thank you Crystal ❤
Love this pattern so much! Awesome that it's the same on both sides and comes up so soft and squishy.
I was working on knitted afghan for a friend but had to stop due to carpel tunnel. This looks like it will be much easier on the hands. Thank you for showing how to make this.
I love this pattern! I’m making it in pink and white for my great niece’s first birthday
Absolutely beautiful. Think I’ll do this in green & white stripes for St Patrick’s day. Thanks Crystal.
Blanket so pretty love the color of greens.
Now I know how to make different stitches, although it took many years , and computers for this I love that time Flys by and before longer work is done! Thank goodness I have a good reason to ignore people that irritate me
I absolutely love this stitch. Now I just need something to make.
Made 3 of these and plan to make more. Absolutely love them! Made chain 152 and used 5 full Big Cakes. Fits an adult perfectly. Such a fun stitch - thanks
How. Wide did it end up being in inches? Asking for a friend........not.😅😂
Making this now for a baby shower gift. It’s so pretty! Can’t wait to see the mom to be’s reaction!
As soon as I saw the thumbnail...I jumped on over...the stitch and colorway compliments each other perfectly!!! I'm absolutely loving this
Absolutely love this pattern Crystal! Will definitely make a baby blanket and maybe a throw. Thank you so much 🤗
I just love this pattern I have made at least 20 baby blankets and I have made at least 30 adult blankets ❤️❤️👍👍👍
I just started this, i'm only on row two... but i'm leaving a review now because of how simple this pattern is, and how easy it is to follow. I can't wait to finish it. I'm just using some pretty half skeins to make a baby blanket, so i'll be creating my own color stripes. Thank you :)
You said you LIKE it but I say I ADORE your blanket. SUBLIME gorgeous STUNNING amazing SPECTACULAR. I fell in love with your blanket. The 3D effect is so beautiful. I wanna perhaps make this for my darling daughter in laws birthday. She loves everything I make for her. She names it, she has it. Thanks for sharing and caring 👍👍👍👌👌👌🙏🙏🙏😃😃
Thank you soo much! You are great at showing us how to make what we choose! You make it seem so much easier than it looks and I LOVE THE LOOK OF SHELL STITICH ON BOTH SIDES AS IT MAKES IT LOOK AND FEEL SOO WARM AND KUSHY! Lol
I am making a bed blanket for my adult daughter and I know she will LOVE IT! !
Thank you Chrystal! Take care & Stay Well! 😃🙏🦋
I'll be making this blanket soon. I love the puffed she'll stitch.
Crystal comes through once again. That is beautiful. You came through again for me. I'm in the middle of doing some baby blankets. Got two going now, still need a few more. Your tutorials rock. Thank you for sharing
This stitch is new to me and your colours are beautiful. Thanks Crystal
I started this blanket today and I love how it’s turning out. I’m making a full size one in purple
Hi Mariann is the stich a nice and warm one to do please, my mum is wanting a warm bed cape do I'm searching for a nice stich to do for her
Thank you for this tutorial; I’m new to crocheting and decided to make a lovey to start with.
Iam enjoying my self making this blanket. Thank you
It looks like a field of broccoli or maybe Brussels sprouts! Lovely!
Vraiment très belle cette couverture , j'aime beaucoup !!!! Merci pour ce beau tuto !!!!
I’m so happy I finished it! I’m dreaming the count in my sleep! Mine is 38 x 46 some how! My daughter love it she picked out the color. And
Have small migraine this morning - you seem to always have something for me! My news years resolution not going very well I promised myself no more new yarn/patterns until I finished what I started - I will never catch up! Just beautiful I need one for myself now.
I just don't know how you keep coming up with such amazing designs! I'm going to put this on my list for a full size blanket. I love it so much.
I love it! Looks so cuddly... Definitely doing the head math for full size lol
Edit to add: when giving a mommy and me gift at baby showers this would be great for baby and a throw size one for mommy.
Do you remember the measurements for the throw sized one? 😅
What a beautiful pattern. I will be using it to make 3 baby blankets for my nieces, (2 due April, boys, 1 due May, unknown) Thank you Crystal.
Thank you for your shell-y crochet Afghan pattern! You are an excellent instructor.
Even though I haven’t crocheted in over ten years, this looks like a great project to start up again.🙂
Thank you so much, I really love it, tomorrow I'm going to buy the wool even though it's heavily raining but I can't wait until I start making it. Im gonna gift it to my friend she's expecting her first baby in June. So excited
The baby blanket is beautiful.
WOW! This baby blanket is beautiful!!!
Thank you Crystal! Finally found the pattern I think will work for the blanket my son requested in orange, gray and white! I had already done a C2C blanket for him and was trying to find a pattern to use to make his latest request of colors. This is pretty, but yet masculine I think!
Such a beautiful blanket. I was looking for a unique baby blanket pattern and now i have one! Seriously. Beatiful.
My next afgan to crochet!!
Love the Mint Chocolate blend!!
I love to make blankets. Definitely making this one. I love it. Thank you, Crystal.
Lol, I also use the”pinch method” when I have to do several stitches together
And I have not done a puff like this before..can’t wait to try it
Yep, love that pinch. 😀
I've only done a 5 stitch shell pattern. This looks so different!! I'm loving it! 😁
I like the fact that both sides match too.
I love 💜 love this. I probably will make this bigger for a door prize for my family reunion. They'll love 💜 it too. 🤗
This is so beautiful, I will really need to try this Afghan. Thank you Crystal xx
I love that pattern. I’m going to have to make this for my second grandchild who will be born this June. Thank you Crystal, it’s just beautiful.
That's real pretty. I think it looks perfect without a border. Thanks for the pattern.
Loving the green color way.
Very pretty 😊
Love the colours in this blanket, I’m waiting a few more weeks to find out if my new grandchild is going to be a girl or boy ❤️😘
CONGRATS Carole Hastings. 👶👶👶
I've been looking for inspiration for the temperature blanket I have planned for this year and I've found it. This will make a beautiful birth year temperature blanket. Its a yarn eater but thats ok. I'll have to buy more yarn because my foundation chain is 242 chains so it's big enough for my bed. I love shell stitches so this is perfect. Thank you Crystal, once again, for a great tutorial.
This is my favorite baby blanket pattern.
The colors 👍🏼 good choice thank you. Definitely on save list .
so pretty I will remember this for up coming babies
Hi Crystal! I've started this as a lapghan/throw for myself in three colors, and oh my, it's awesome!! AND, the "front" & "back" are different! - like a reversible lapghan/throw!! Thanks, for such a wonderful design to crochet!💝😊
I'm almost done with my blanket for my son I will be here in a few weeks I cannot find a way to make a border for this and I really want to just a very simple border but I can't find any video that can break it down to how to fit this blanket with the border that's not complicated. I love how you break things down.
Thank you so much! I think you’re great and you have a lovely family!🌹🌹🌹🌹
I made a throw using this pattern. It turned out beautiful!. Thank you for posting it!
Crystal ,love that stitch and thinking about doing it in the near future. Thank you much for this one.
Love this stitch! Will try it as soon as I get some yarn 🧶.
That is pretty, love those colors.on my to-do list. Crystal you're amazing.
I love this stich, making a baby blanket for my niece's 1st baby. Trying to decide if I should put a border. Thank you!
That blanket is really pretty.
I made this blanket- it came out so nice:) Thank you.
What size did you make? Baby blanket size or bigger? I just got a great deal on some yarn and want to make this, just trying to figure a starting chain number for a bigger blanket.
Hi Crystal, love the colors in this puff shell blanket. Thank you !!
"AMAZING" I am definitely going to put this on my do list.
As usual thank you.
I just made this for my granddaughter and I loved making it. It’s absolutely beautiful. Thank you so much.
I love the puff stich! Just beautiful.
i love this shell stitch! but not puff-style! will def. do this when i make another afghan! Thank you Crystal for this simple but gosh darn cute tutorial! happy crocheting!
LOVE this!! It’s a must do, both in a baby blanket and a larger one for me!
I must have missed this pattern. I loved the swatch I made. Definitely, turning this into a blanket. 🌺
I finally found a pattern for a baby blanket. Thanks Crystal ❤
Beautiful!!! I gotta make this for my sweet little ones! My 2 month old grandson and my granddaughter due in April must have this!!
Great tutorial! I’ve never watched anyone else do this stitch & felt confident I could do this pattern. Thank you, Crystal! Love, from the Great State of Oklahoma, USA 🤍
This baby blanket is soooo beautiful!!🤗❤️
Love this stitch! I'm thinking of making a scarf instead of blanket though.
I just started this blanket Crystal it was requested by my husband he loves it 🤗 thank u for sharing this with us !
Can't wait to make this blanket! Thank you for this.
Love the 3D effect. What a super pattern. Love the way you are so close that it really defines how the stitch is made. It almost looks like l am doing the crocheting. This makes it easy to copy (or duplicate) your movements. Great teaching video as usual. Thanks Crystal.
Made one similar to this one..love the puff stitch and the yarn you used
Supporting the bag o day crochet 😊
THIS WOULD MAKE A COOL PILLOW, TOO!!!
Just tried this stitch out on a washcloth. Definitely much more suited for a scarf or blanket but very easy and straight edges. Anytime I don’t need a border, it’s a great design. Thanks Crystal. Happy new year to you and your family.
