I am so bad at math. Maybe someone would help me. I want to make this blanket for my daughter. She is 5 feet 9 inches tall. I want it to be able to cover her. If I do 78 inches long (tall) and say 60 (+2) wide (starting chain) How many yards would I need? And I would want enough to do a border. So 62" X 78" = 4,836 inches 4836 ÷ 603 (yards per 10 oz cake)= 8.02 Cakes??? Did I figure this right? If I buy the same Caron yarn Crystal used for this project. Thanks in advance.
Great idea! Im quilting a coverlet for Spring. It has green blocks w flowers & butterflies & black patterned sashing. A rug by bed would be awesome. Thanks for the idea and thanks to C for the tute.🙋
You are a wonderful and beautiful person, for all you do for us. You give us beautiful patterns, and show us all the new yarns, plus give aways. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Beautiful pattern. I have been crocheting for many years and Crystal is by far the best teacher on all of UA-cam. She never leaves you wondering what??? She always shows her work up close so seeing the stitch she is working in is always clear. The last thing I love about her is her upbeat comments when she says ...see it’s easy and know you can do it!!! Keep up the awesome tutorials.
You said you LIKE it but I say I ADORE your blanket. SUBLIME gorgeous STUNNING amazing SPECTACULAR. I fell in love with your blanket. The 3D effect is so beautiful. I wanna perhaps make this for my darling daughter in laws birthday. She loves everything I make for her. She names it, she has it. Thanks for sharing and caring 👍👍👍👌👌👌🙏🙏🙏😃😃
I LOVE THIS BLANKET!!! ❤️ I've had this blanket on my list for the longest time and now I finally have the perfect yarn for it. It's going to be so great! You're the best, Crystal 🙏💗
It's so pretty! It looks like mossy pebbles. I think it would look amazing as a bath rug, make it out of cotton in those colors and it would be perfect!
A wonderful pattern with such a great finished project! No babies here but will be making some for wheel chair lapghans and regular size too. Thanks so much!
I have just found out that my cousins daughter is having a baby, and was looking for a textured blanket that I thought I could manage as I've only been crocheting for about 6 months, I'm in love with the texture of this blanket and hope to do it justice as soon as I find some wool. Just about everything I'm learning is from Crystal, she is an excellent tutor. I find it so useful that she tells everyone the yarn and amount required plus the needle size that she uses on the project that's being done. Thank you so much for your excellent tuition and yarn talks Crystal, not sure I'd have persisted if I hadn't found your channel.🥰
Loved this pattern. I made a green and off white blanket with 12 row stipes. It is gorgeous, my husband loves it. It is huge too. Tall men deserve extra long afghans. Thank you
Now I know how to make different stitches, although it took many years , and computers for this I love that time Flys by and before longer work is done! Thank goodness I have a good reason to ignore people that irritate me
What size did you make? Baby blanket size or bigger? I just got a great deal on some yarn and want to make this, just trying to figure a starting chain number for a bigger blanket.
I was working on knitted afghan for a friend but had to stop due to carpel tunnel. This looks like it will be much easier on the hands. Thank you for showing how to make this.
Ms Crystal, I was looking for you tonight! I am not disappointed at all. I like it! This is awesome! You do great tutorials! I wish I could meet you and sit with you and get some tips! This was just awesome!
Thank you for your shell-y crochet Afghan pattern! You are an excellent instructor. Even though I haven’t crocheted in over ten years, this looks like a great project to start up again.🙂
Catching up on tutorials. My goal is to watch all of your tutorials! This blanket looks like it would be difficult, but it's not! I think it would be nice and warm with those puffs.
Great tutorial! I’ve never watched anyone else do this stitch & felt confident I could do this pattern. Thank you, Crystal! Love, from the Great State of Oklahoma, USA 🤍
I've been looking for inspiration for the temperature blanket I have planned for this year and I've found it. This will make a beautiful birth year temperature blanket. Its a yarn eater but thats ok. I'll have to buy more yarn because my foundation chain is 242 chains so it's big enough for my bed. I love shell stitches so this is perfect. Thank you Crystal, once again, for a great tutorial.
This blanket is fabulous and in my favorite colors - - - all greens. A friend’s mom gave me her entire hoard of yarn when she was downsizing with an entire legal sized tote box crammed full of all sorts of green yarns similar to your puffy blanket colors. I will finally be able to use up this yarn inspired by your puffy baby blanket !!
Crystal is how I learned to crochet! All the way back to 2015ish or so! I actually started writing patterns within 2 years of learning to crochet because of the easy way you relay the tutorials. So happy I found you and learned this awesome skill! Thank you Crystal!
Hi Bag-O-Day, I’m still working on the one row repeat (three’s). Once I’m complete, I’ll figure out how to take picture and send to you. Just wanted to let you know I’m still crocheting. I love your & demonstrations.. When I complete, I’ll do a search on adding a Border.
Thank you Crystal....just want to tell you I make your patterns all the time, but every time I try posting a pic it gets declined. So I will just tell you your patterns are lovely, easily followed and make wonderful gifts!!! Thank you thank you thank you....
I wouldn't this stitch make a beautiful triangle shawl? I did the blanket before but would like to make a triangle but I can't figure it out. Very, very warm blanket. I like your pattern better. You choose great colors. It's really a yarn eater. Thank you!!
I actually love it without a border 💝! I agree with you. It is a beautiful Baby Blanket but this pattern would make a beautiful Afghan or a Lap Blanket, Rug, Wall Hanging, etc. Thank you for sharing 😊💝!
Made 3 of these and plan to make more. Absolutely love them! Made chain 152 and used 5 full Big Cakes. Fits an adult perfectly. Such a fun stitch - thanks
Have small migraine this morning - you seem to always have something for me! My news years resolution not going very well I promised myself no more new yarn/patterns until I finished what I started - I will never catch up! Just beautiful I need one for myself now.
Thank you soo much! You are great at showing us how to make what we choose! You make it seem so much easier than it looks and I LOVE THE LOOK OF SHELL STITICH ON BOTH SIDES AS IT MAKES IT LOOK AND FEEL SOO WARM AND KUSHY! Lol I am making a bed blanket for my adult daughter and I know she will LOVE IT! ! Thank you Chrystal! Take care & Stay Well! 😃🙏🦋
I'm almost done with my blanket for my son I will be here in a few weeks I cannot find a way to make a border for this and I really want to just a very simple border but I can't find any video that can break it down to how to fit this blanket with the border that's not complicated. I love how you break things down.
You’ve done it again! It amazes me how you’re able to come up with these great designs that goes so beautifully with the yarns you select! Thank you for another wonderful tutorial.
