Sir I have a question right now I hv a pt age 27 male with the history of olecranon process fracture n he gone through internal fixation surgery n he came to me after 2 months of surgery with restricted elbow flexion(90°) and extension(50°). He's not regular it's been 15 days so I got flexon(110°) but facing difficulty for extension n while trying to extend actively, he's lifting his shoulder or coming anterior. Sir please help me out like where I'm going wrong or what should do.
Hi Fatima , really glad to help you all. Talking about your patient. It seems you should start with vigorous mobilization alternate days and start with functional activity more in rehabilitation to improve ROM in extension. It is lil frustrating to bring elbow range back post surgery but again it depends on how much patient is putting effort along with you. And what is the functional status of the patient.
