An enemy I really enjoy to give me out of world scares no pun intended is THE MOLD CREATURES because they pop out of dark unannounced corners!!!

I remember when you defeat Marguerite she turns into a spider creature, but the most disgusting thing about her transformation is she carries a hive of insects
To me that was the best part of the game her turning into a giant spider
Even crazier and more disgusting is the fact that she managed to absorb her special lantern whilst Ethan was chasing her down.
I feel bad for Evelin sure she's not human but she's just a child that only wanted a normal life and a loving family like any child would. The saddest part is when you fight her, and she asks why does everyone hate me? Truly a tragic villain.

Yeah, she was created and abandoned in quick succession. Just used for experiments and deemed an "unsuitable vessel". I'd say she got her revenge, though, after killing most of the Connections researchers. I still really hate what happened to the Bakers, the Daughters DLC and the scene where Jack talks to Ethan through the mutamycete connection really got me. They were very kind people and were turned into monsters as a result of that kindness.

RE7 was the most genius game ever with the way they changed the series and dynamic into a real 1st person horror game it was a hell of a gamble but it sure payed off
Really wish they had stuck with it in RE8, but that game felt like they were trying too hard to emulate RE4.

Resident evil 7 isn't known for its enemy variety to say the least 😂. I think the mold could be done better, like either it gets combined with a virus or something or it causes more variety of changes in humans and regular wildlife. I think they could still do something like that in a story. I'm curious what a molded dog would look like honestly.
This really is my only complaint for the game. The molded stops being scary after a while
For real, molded dogs should have been what the four legged crawlers were, and have the fat molded be a mish mash of cows and something else, as well as infected gators and molded made out of infected insects that have been fused together by the e-mold. Would have been cooler and made things more interesting.

*Not gonna lie, still don't care for the mold 😅.* I think there interesting in concept, but lackluster in design and just didn't come off threatening like the Baker family or Evelin. They're just boring fodder enemies that I can't take them seriously lol

Playing yesterday I was in Lucas's attic and was looking at the renovation contract and noticed the. Paper says the date is 1971 but when you click the inspect and the writing appear s it says 1991

Evelin is such a weak character compared to the Baker family. I really wish they'd gone some other direction with her beyond "evil little girl with black hair". The rest of the game is fantastic though so it's not really a dealbreaker.
Yeah, I think the game is sooo good, but compared to the other RE villains, Eveline didn't even put up a real fight. I get that the idea was probably for her to be a more fragile character, fighting her was almost easier than fighting the bakers
Yeah, one thing about the game I noticed is that the boss fights get easier the further you go. The first Jack fight was the hardest in the game for me. Eveline was a joke in comparison on every difficulty. She was pretty anticlimactic.
I am at the start of the video (yes it’s weird to ask a question when you haven’t watched the whole thing) but is Zoe talked about? If she’s not part of the family then where did she come from? She not a timestamp in the video so don’t know if she’s spoken about but don’t get where she came from? I’m assuming she’s not infected cause we never had to fight her but we also had to give her the serum so maybe she was? Very confused I have watched about 4 play throughs so like jacksepticeye, callmekevin and ltcustard for the Mia ending ans daz games for the Zoe ending just never understood the lore behind Zoe
So I just checked out the resident evil wiki for her lore and apparently she was able to resist the mind control due to her knowledge about evenline

We still after RE8 have no canon confirmation since the file detailing Eveline's failed predecessors was datamined from the game's files and not used in the base game or DLC, unless it's still not been found after 7 years...

7 was more like a Silent Hill game than an RE game. The mold is a lame mechanic/biological danger that doesn't have the same impact that the T-virus did, and Eveline's ghostly psychic powers are dumb mystical nonsense. RE 9 needs to drop whatever 'the connection' is, and go back to corrupt, neglectful corporations accidentally unleashing somewhat realistic BOW attempts.
Apparently you never finished 7 or 8, both are well connected and established in the resident evil universe, if you’d like I can spoil 7 & 8 for you so yk the lore and story. Without resident evil 8 and the characters in it, there’d never be resident evil 1. There’d be no Spencer mansion without resident evil 8’s villains. Umbrella literally got their logo from the village in re8.
While yes I will agree gameplay wise 7 may play like silent hill. But 8 is almost a resident evil 4 clone. And the story of 7 and 8 are literally so essential to resident evil. You may not like change but don’t go and say they have nothing to do with the rest of the games. Go back and play them bud.
@@ymh.smokespot An Umbrella name drop in a file somewhere is hardly a good way to connect events in the series. Besides, I didn't say they weren't connected, I said the main driving force and narrative mechanic of 7 and 8 is dumb and goes against what the best RE's are narratively known for.
RE2 and 3 (and to a lesser extent 1) told the tale all the way back in 1998 of a large pharma corporation carelessly breaking ethics, mishandling their products, relentlessly pursuing profits, and destroying an entire small-ish American town in the process. The Sacklers several years later would literally do essentially the same thing with the opioid epidemic. A virus that killed millions of people and altered people's bodies in strange, sometimes hard to define ways literally shut the world down in 2022. Part of the reason RE2 and 3 and somewhat 1 are the best RE stories is that they're commentaries on real world attitudes and tragedies that aren't that far removed from the events of the game. Hell, RE4 is less a horror game and more an action game and it's still a commentary on how dangerous cults are and how they consume your personality. (The original zombie movies that RE1 were based on were commentaries on capitalism).
RE7 and 8 aren't commenting on anything. Nothing in those games mirrors anything in the real world. They're over the top, fantastical and mystical. The Bakers are just immortal, psycho hillbillies. Werewolves or whatever are just feral people. Psychic dolls don't represent a real threat that might destroy your life, it's just spooky. "The Mold" is just creepy black goo that can be whatever gross monster thing they want in order to have something cool to shoot, it has no real world counterpart that makes you think of something that could actually happen to you unless like you have a terrible landlord that won't deal with a moisture problem.
There are ten million real world problems that can be mixed with a little body horror to make a compelling new RE game, and none of it involves magic black goo that can make superhuman mimics.
New mechanic is lame, but the one used over and over again is not? I swear some of you can’t stand new things.
