Do you think that this type of vent door hinders and allows the lint to block it up more than the hood type with a large flap. I think the loovers on this system helps to block the lint and create a clog.
Next time, put down a drop cloth or tarp to catch the lint. Also I use a handheld leaf vac to vacuum up when I am done. Not an expert but have done a few. The first time I did one, I used a leaf blower from the inside and blew through. Was not pretty. Somone asked, "How come the duct has so much lint?" The walls of the duct get charged with static electricity from the air blowing through it and that attracts the lint. Also. Some folks forget to put the filter back.
Oh, if it's all flex, it has to be replaced! First, it isn't up to current building code, second, my brush would rip it to shreds! Actually, when the company started, we didn't clean vents... We only did retrofit jobs or new construction homes... Finally got into the cleaning side bc it's fairly lucrative. GREAT QUESTION!!!!!
Great movie, Steve! You look like Ben Foster from "Mechanic" (with Jason Stratham).Take care of your hands and knees - maybe, gloves and knee pads help you. Thanks!
There's way to prevent the buildup of lint in the duct... Only true way to be safe is to have to vent cleaned every 1-2 years. ESPECIALLY with the length of duct current building codes allow... Thx for watching as well as your comment!!!
Hi, Wow that was a bit full. Wish when tradesmen put things in they would take pride in their work and do it properly. Great job fixing it up. Stay Safe from a Tasmanian Fan ❤️🙏👍🤗

HAHAHAHAHA! Unfortunately, I was knife-less for the remainder of the day... I did let the homeowner I left it and made sure it was safe and out of the hands of little ones! Great question though!
Great job , but honestly you shouldn’t have crimped that piece , should have crimped the dryer vent itself going downward , now you have created a slight restriction and also the lint is going to be catching on your crimped in and is going to get clogged faster..And you never put screws in dryer vents..They catch lint also..
I’m sure he appreciates all y’all comments and suggestions on what to do. But maybe he’s from Missouri (the show me state) and maybe y’all could call him up and he will let you go to the job with him so y’all can show him.😂
Could this also be the reason why a dryer won't be heating up when drying clothes? A new motor was put in a used dryer for me last year but now the thing hasnt been getting hot anymore. Let alone I never touched the vent as long as I had the dryer. This is new to me while I am trying to be an educated tenant and possibly homeowner some day. But inflation is a mother fucker these days
I don't understand why you're crimping the Doctor work and the hole in the floor I thought the goal was to have no rough edges to snag lint on its way out of the house
Wow, that thing was PACKED for being such a short vent!
Wow, wasn’t expecting that much of a plug.
Good Job😀an old toothbrush will easier to clean the inside flap and around the outside vent!! just a thought!!!
HA! That's a great idea! See, I learn something everyday!!!
Wow 😳 insane how much those lint systems hold!
Absolutely! Although it does keep me in business.. LOL

Normally I think its ok. But when there is already a problem and its comes in chunks it will definitely catch better wit these small louvers.
Just watched this one again! I can't believe this happens so many times! Or are you a magnet to insanely dirty dryer vents, LOL?
They don't call him when their dryer is working...
My hayfever and allergies were screaming at me.
It's lint not pollen
@@B-ch6uk i still get hayfever

I can dig it!!! Thx for watching and for your thoughts!!
A drop cloth? How would that help? HAHAHA!
@@CLTAccBCit would catch all of the lint that comes out on the ground and would be easy to just pick up the tarp to clean up outside.
The duct is connected to the dryer which is grounded. How can static electricity build up on a grounded metal duct?
Wow ! What would you do if the vent was flexible and not metal ? Thanks

If you put 1 ft markers on your cleaning line, it would help give reference of how far the cleaning brushes are from the opening.
That's a great idea! Thanks!
I live in a senior community and every fall I have the maintenance man get up on the roof and clean the dryer vent.
Everybody owes you a big thanks for that!
Great movie, Steve! You look like Ben Foster from "Mechanic" (with Jason Stratham).Take care of your hands and knees - maybe, gloves and knee pads help you. Thanks!
Hopefully that's a compliment, LOL!!! I really appreciate you watching!
We appliance service technicians thank you for your service!
Great job
Regardless what others say, Great job!
Why does the lint stay in the pipe? GREAT VIDEO!!!

Did you remember to pick up your knife that was in the leaves?

What rod and brush kit are you using?
It's a prototype I'm currently working on getting to mass production... Thx for watching!
Do you have the dryer running inside to help blow the lint out as your running your brush?
💥💥💥
🤩
I have a question as a new home owner when a vent is moved to another spot how should the old whole be filled ?
❤❤❤
If the dryer is on an exterior wall or is that cloae to one, why did they run the vent thru the floor?

Idk why but when he reached around the camera to hit record I just lost it 😂😂😂
Hi iv just found your channel very interesting 😊
WOW!
My favorite part in your videos is the way you show us how to remove the louvers on the outside of the vent. I would be afraid they'd snap.
Why do people say no bueno instead of no good
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!
Why you guys still clean up?

Thar house is not a split. A split is a ranch which has 2 levels and a middle entrance. This house is a full cape.
I would love to see you wear gloves of some type. 😊

How does this happen so often?
Son you need a sheep herder on some of these cleaning jobs!
Sorry from London England 😊

Gloves, mask, and eye protection for you. You need to care for yourself😂
Useless people who can't do a little home maintenance but would rather throw money away.,
