I just bought these from Argos (in UK) to arrive today (pack of 2, but will need 1 more which I'll invest in next month). I know the software/quality is behind for 2022. But I just wanted a pretty cheap plug in option to monitor my three hamsters. Sounds insane, I know, but a lot of the hamster community add security cameras now because of being paranoid of escapes... And I have two cats, which can't get in my room but hamsters can squeeze out and under my door. So I'm happy with what I purchased and can't wait to have it arrive this afternoon.
That Saver option makes it look ready for a TV Crime show where they have video of the bad guy in a convenience store and you can hardly tell anything about them. If that isn't your goal, yeah it is a horrible option then. Wish that IR light was dynamic. Medium looked the best but high could see the whole room. However, you turned into a white ghost at close range.
Just in case anyone is wondering....All existing customers who have an account created on or BEFORE 4/15/2020 will receive free cloud storage on all devices added to their account going forward - this includes Mini, and Blink Indoor and Outdoor. Separately, any XT2 or 1st generation Indoor cameras added to an account created AFTER 4/15/2020 will receive free cloud storage on those devices, but any Mini and the new Blink Indoor and Outdoor cameras added to that same account will require either local storage via the Sync Module 2 or a subscription for cloud storage to save videos.
Mr Huron It’s confirmed by blink. You don’t need the cloud subscription if you are existing customer. I think he didn’t know that that’s why didn’t mention in the video
Is this possible to use via a double glazed window with outside source light (PIR porch ligths)? is the motion sensor triggered by body heat? you mentioned something about pixel based... perhaps you can make a video.
Its an ok camera but the biggest issue i have with it its that after 6am every morning the camera stops detection & until I do a live view it doesn't works. Customer care still hasn't responded to me on that as yet. I think I'll make the switch to a different camera cause this isn't reliable 24/7
Great review! I just this camera and was thinking of getting it. So now I think I’ll hold off. Also thank you for letting us know that service will be $10 a month next year wasn’t notified that yet. But $10 a month is worth knowing what is going on around your house when nobody is there. Thank you for your channel. Richard goodall Indiana
blink vs ring for 10 a month ring is a better product if blink was 4k with AI and ptz ill be down for 10 a month...i had blink for 2 years and no issues....they need a solar product , 4k, PTZ, and AI...and lights.. then it will be a bargain product... all the camera companies in a year will be charging for storage unless you get a DVR system.. cough cough...
This mini Blink looks like they rushed it to market ahead of better cameras coming soon. I pre ordered the new Eufy indoor camera that is coming next month....with local storage. I have 5 of the original Blink cameras,( before Amazon bought them out)..... both indoor & outdoor, which are much better.
I have 7 XT/2 cams. This thing is a fail for me. 30 second max clips and no continuous live view without hitting "ok" are 2 big deal breakers. Battery cam options on a cable powered cam. Fail.
@@LifeHackster it's too bad I had high hopes when they announced the doorbell. But we see how that went. Even when I seen the sync 2 local storage. But no continuous recording and battery options on a powered cam no good. I think they're late now that wyze is getting huge.
I just got one; it's decent for what I use it for. My car keeps getting broken into, and I plug it in and point at my parking spot. (the only downside I didn't realize is over 100 different cars pass in front of my home, heavy foot traffic, and people cross my yard to get thru the neighbor. So, be prepared for additional anxiety.
Hackster, can you tell me the best camera with the best battery life? I’ve had an Arlo system for a couple years and the battery life as I’m sure everyone knows SUCKS ASS!!!
I’m planning to buy this but when I saw your review I’m thinking about it now . Can you suggest what’s the best security camera with reasonable price . I’m planning to put one on our patio and inside our house in the hallway . By the way we have Alexa that we got for Christmas and my 7 years old daughter just using it to watch UA-cam . I hope I can get an answer . Thanks so much and you got a subscriber
I really like your videos, although you should add somewhere in your description of video or maybe a pop up that you are not a youtube fake review person...like so many others are,. In the first video I watched..I was worried you were and was a minute or two in and then you described what you are doing :) Thank you so much , so many other reviews just look like going to the advertisers page! Not you tho, you actually point out flaws. Thank you for your video, I notice Seattle on your screen saver...I am originally from there (and my grandfather actually helped build the Space Needle not even kidding, he was one of the engineers that built how it revolves)..long before starbucks, amazon and microsoft lol...who knows maybe i went to school with you or your pretty wife :) I lived first in Medina, then Redmond other side of lake when it was the cow only boonies and then Alki, and then other parts of West Seattle..I miss home. My heart goes out to Seattle right now. Another small suggestion ..if you are there..you should add in how stuff records in bad weather like huge wet storms and fog which is never covered in videos that I watched today. Everyone always shows videos of sunny days and audio when they are the only one talking..perhaps a noisy video when stuff is crazy busy might be nice...like audio recordings differ a lot depending on ambient nose or some dont do well with say a dog barking or music playing,.
so i have 1 question. I am thinking of getting this but idk how much data it will use. I have xfinity and we are capped at 1.2tb. Most of the time we get to like 700 to 900 or even sometimes 1tb of data. So can i have it so that it only turns on when it senses motion? and will that use less data
Okay awesome that’s great to hear just wanted to see how it was working for you because I heard a lot of people complaining about the lock losing calibration and failing to function. Thanks for the quick response!

Saver is meant for people using local storage who want to save storage space
The "saver" mode started with their Blink XT camera and the main purpose of it is to save battery life.. -> ua-cam.com/video/gmgRhDIjWCM/v-deo.html
Will blink release a doorbell anytime soon? When the new module is released, will the XT2 camera package come with it?
I'm not sure about the doorbell...
Well they have a doorbell now
