August in Fear and Hunger 2 Termina is the most mysterious and capable among the 14 contestants in the game. It is heavily implied he is the descendent of Ragnvaldr the Outlander from the first Fear & Hunger game due to them possessing the same Tormented Soul, both of them being skilled with a bow and arrow, and how they are friendly with Moonless the cave wolf. August also knows much about the Old Gods, New Gods, and the games Eldritch events as he reveals what happened to Le'garde after he ascended to become the Yellow King and then the Kaiser, and August tells how his mission is to stop him. He is ultimately unsuccessful in doing so and is one of 2 characters to not have a moonscorched form as he takes matters into his own hands before Rher's influence can overtake him.

It's more like an homage to Castlevania, which iirc was an inspiration for JoJo. He's more akin to Julius Belmont, as they have similar facial hair, as well as similar lineage and a collective multi-generational familial mission (Rag is based in part on Simon Belmont)

Its implied to is related to Ragnvaldr to his family hunt monsters for generations, talked to Ragnvaldr and Moonless know him but each character soul type is just like the zodiac signs in owr world.

Imagine in 15-20 years if this evolved into a huge franchise with an awesome anime/other adaptations just like Castlevania has that also started out as a simple game. Would be awesome.

I didn't know that you could save Samarie. I accidently got thru the church on day one and she was off to the left hand side of where shes supposed to be, cowering in the corner and you can send her to the train and not have to fight her. Just found that out today XD

He's not easily the strangest and most capable contestant when O'saa exists. There's a reason August felt that he had to drain O'saa of his magic. He already survived the funger dungeon and out of all characters O'saa is probably the most likely to be able to solo Kaiser.

most of the creature there is like dead maybe only the strongest suvived or some of those blue guys because probably canonically rag killed most of them in there he is him
I would at the very least put O'saa on the same 'tier' in the sense they are both characters with familiarity with fighting occult forces, and know (roughly) what they are getting into in regards to the festival, and are more at east navigating the town. The fact that O'saa is one of the only characters to interact with August later in the story also sorta cements them as 'peers.'
He also have Nas'rah who is one of the most knowledgeable about this sort of thing
It will be very interesting to see what his moonscorched form will be. I think it will either be something that references Ragnvald... or the most monstrous of all the characters. I wouldn’t be surprised if we can catch him in the guise of a monster while he eats someone’s corpse.

Honestly August looks a lot like Ragnvauldr in his more detailed look. His hair color is similar and his face is also similar. He’s also trying to stop The Kaiser like how Ragnvauldr tried to stop/kill Legarde.
I mean. if he remains alive and had his moonscorched form, try and imagine him wiping out the whole party💀

I always thought if rag went to the dungeon after cahara helped the girl reach the depth could he have killed her in her god form like he does with the other gods in his s canon ending? We know he has that dawg in him to kill gods.
Ragnvaldr may be a badass and all but he's not beating a god that rivals the old gods bro, that's way above his league
The GOFAH is far stronger than the new gods, she rivals the old gods like groh and silvian, rag is capable but not THAT capable.
He managed to survive in my first sucessful run of the game.
Gets killed by la guard, offs himself before he gets Moon scorched or get shot by a Karen that panics and doesn't want to listen.

I like to think that Rag and Auguste are the same person, my own headcannon is that Enki did unlocked immortality for him and let him pursue his revenge but he also took time to enjoy his immortality. Founding a new family, earning new skills and wealth, preparing slowly his revenge. Overall, enjoying life and learning more since Rag is a very knowledgeable, adventurous and above all a man who love life. Im led to this conclusion mainly because of read mind spell but...
Im fine if he is a descendant. Its a sound explaination and also because Auguste mentions his grandfather from Öldegrad.
There is so much mystery around this character, cant wait for Miro to release more about it.
Btw, Ragnvaldr is a "royal"/noble name in Norwegian (?) and it also links with Auguste which is also associated with the First Emperor of Rome. Many connections to be made !!

I wouldn’t play fear and hunger because it doesn’t pop on steam, I don’t have the patience for game like it and don’t want to get walked in when fighting an “exposed” enemy.

I hope there’s a third game. I’d rather it somehow go back in time than it continue. Not necessarily a prequel but maybe an alternate new timeline perhaps? I mean the game is already dealing with a whole bunch of cosmic incomprehensible Eldritch God stuff lol I just can picture fear and hunger getting a lot bigger than it is. And I personally like medieval fantasy horror more than any other horror. That genre is far more niche than it deserves lol it’d be cool for a more modern RPG. Cell shaded 3D but the kind of cool cell shading that one dragon ball z game has to where it simultaneously looks 2D and 3D at the same time. Staying completely faithful to the art style yet being higher resolution. I’d love to see this world come to life for a lack of a better phrase

Yes, in his own end, Rag remarried and have a child.
It was never confirmed, but it's most likely he started a new family and potentially a new tribe after his S ending.

Yes, he became a badass monster slayer for a while, but essentially he's just a toy of the Ancient Gods and will end up locked in the Hall like the other new gods.
That only applies for those who sat on the throne of ascension. Ragnvaldr never sat on the throne so he won't be toyed by the old gods
I always thought "God of Ultraviolence" as more of a title than him actually becoming a god
The throne gives you the power and title of a New God
However ragnavaldr is unique as the "god of Ultraviolence" because he basically ascended to the power of a New god without the requirement of him sitting down on the throne

Everybody knows that we won't ever able to play with him. He's too op and he's unlock the easy mode for the game.
He wouldn't be any more OP than O'saa, who is arguably stronger than him. Fundamentally NPC August is functionally just a character controlled by a player familiar with the game who has a bit more gear and skills going into things, which is just like NPC O'saa.
The main question is if they could incorporate his parkour/sequence breaking or not.
