Your outfit is lovely and you can see how confident and comfortable you feel in it ❤
Thank you so much!
I definitely would like to see more of your Curated Closet venture. I am doing something very similar to you and have recently donated all clothes that I am not wearing. It was hard to see all those hand made garments go!!! I am trying to develop my style for my life now, retired, in late 60’s, loving life. I really like your look and am an ardent follower of yours. Keep going Alex you are an inspiration to me. Xxx
Thanks so much! I agree it's very hard to say goodbye to things you've made, my Mum takes some but she's smaller than me so there's a limit to what I can send her. xxx
I need more dresses too, maxi especially!!!❤
Love the fabric.
Please continue, I am looking forward to every update
Well, I love what you’re doing with that dress. I hope you don’t mind me mentioning how gorgeous your hair looks today.
ahh thanks, it's driving me nuts at the moment as it's overdue a cut x
You look fabulous, great style for you!
Oh thank you!
I love this look! It's inspiring! Thanks!
Love your style thanks for sharing
Stash hub is a game changer 😊
Once it's all done 😬
I think your slip dress is gorgeous and it allows you/a person not wanting to show midriff to wear a crop top and show no skin or feel any drafts. Yay, that’s a winner in my book. You look great wearing black up close to your face. 😊🇨🇦❤️
Thank you! I love being back in black 🖤🖤
Alex I couldn't find the poll (probably because I'm technically challenged) so I'm leaving my comment here. I would LOVE for you to continue showing us your wardrobe evaluation. I'm a pretty analytical person but in your videos you've brought up points I hadn't thought of. I like that! thanks, linda
Well it's at 95% for the Yes Please vote, so it looks like I'll be going ahead with a video Linda 😀❤
The best part of dresses with layering is that you never get the midriff gap and let the crazy cold in.
Yes, or things coming untucked ! ❤
I truly enjoy your channel and would love to hear the conclusions you have for your curated closet! Thank you! Love the slip dress on you and your cropped jumper. Looks great on you! 😊
Thanks so much!
Great review of the slip dress patterns and helpful hints as ever. Your new slip dress is brilliant and so you too - really suits your new figure too! Xx
Thanks Marilyn ❤️❤️❤️
Yes please. I’m on the same type of journey and mix me made and purchased.
Will do!!
Yes please more of the curated closet I am finding it very interesting xxx
That dress is so you!!!!!!! Looks awesome xxxxxx
Yes please continue with the Curated Closet. I have the book and am slowly working my way through the chapters. I would be interested in your experience of each stage.
Absolutely love your dress, your outfit & your attitude, Alex! I thoroughly enjoy your channel, thanks so much for the time & effort you spend in keeping it coming. All the very best to you & yours :)
Ooh thank you 🙏🏻❤️
Fabulous dress right up my street I’ve made the dress but it’s a bit big and doesn’t fit well (wrong fabric too) but think I might try again Having seen yours Couldn’t agree more about Black Friday
You look gorgeous in that slip dress! I think making it in a print was a good idea, the fact that you can layer it is awesome! 👗🪡🧵🥰
Oh thank you!
Love the outfit of dress and jumper think I’ll “borrow” that idea. I have the Astoria cut out so now need to check my stash for a co-ordinating dress fabric. I enjoy your vlogs so much but the inspiration you give sends me off in new directions 🤣. I’m just hoping it will end up in a balanced wardrobe of interchangeable outfits something I’ve not yet achieved.
Thanks so much, I'm not sure we'll ever really achieve the perfect wardrobe, but 80% would be great xx
Really like this slip dress and crop top combo. I noticed All Saints had a knitted dress and cropped jumper combo, which would have come home with me if it wasn't for the price tag 😬 I am following along with the curated wardrobe journey you are on. Finding it really interesting and helpful, many thanks for the inspiration
Yes, I've spotted the All Saints knitted dress/top combo too, I'm on the hunt for good sweater knit fabric. I'd like to wait and see how the one I used for the cropped sweater washes etc first.
I love your dress. It’s really flattering and looks brilliant with the short jumper ❤️
Loving this combo on you Alex 👌💖. Totally agree about black Friday 🥴. Added my vote for more curated closet 🙏💖😘
Alex, your dress/ jumper combo really works. I love the fabric, and I'm not a big fan of flowery prints all the time, so that's really different too.
Love the dress and crop jumper combo, Alex. Can I just say that (with a smiley face) anyone needing an app to log their stash, has far too much fabric!!
You're absolutely right 😂
Thanks for doing all the hard work… this is exactly the type of slip dress I have been looking for! Yours looks fantastic. Thank you for sharing 😊
You are so welcome!
Love the print, fit is spot on. Beautiful job.
Impeccable timing. My daughter just sent me a photo of a slip dress worn over a t-shirt and asked if I could make her a replica. I have shared your video so she can look at the pattern options.
Hooray!
Well, here I am at last catching up! Great minds think alike, I have started wearing jumpers over dresses. Something that I never thought that I would do, I have been wearing one over shirt dress and feel really comfortable. I don't think that a dress emphasises my tummy like a skirt does. I am really interested in this slip dress. Take care,x
Great review Alex, your dress looks lovely and versatile too, with the short jumper, looks great, Deb 🪡🧵💕🎄
Oh thank you!
Your dress is gorgeous, much prefer in print not keen in satin and like the combo with the jumper.
The outfit looks fantastic. I actually made a dress last week, I never ever wear dresses, I felt so pretty in it so I see more in my future. ❤
Brilliant!
I love your slip dress and cropped top... it looks so so so comfortable versus skirts and tops which can separate, or require tucking in... love it...
Thank you, thank you ❤❤
Alex I absolutely love your Sadie slip! gorgeous fabric and looks great. and love the idea of using it as a layering piece - I have, ahem, a few sadies in my wardrobe and I can now see how I can get even more use out of them with cropped tops
I'm wondering how many is a 'few' 😂
Loving the slip dress and crop jumper, I agree it’s definitely you Alex. Exactly what the curated process is about, realising your true style. You’re setting a great example of working through the process and being honest with ourselves and what we will actually wear no matter how much we love the look. Thanks for the tip on stash hub, as im watching this I’m in my sewing room sorting, folding and labelling my stash using the new KATM label tape. What I’ve found is a few duplicate pieces which wouldn’t have happened had I an app I could check before buying 🤷♀️ might give that a go. I’m with you though, I’m not putting the cost in there! Agree the Black Friday emails are overwhelming at present, we don’t even have thanksgiving in Australia!!!! Have a great week 🌼🌼
Great minds ... I started off with the Kylie tape and then thought, well if I'm doing this I might as well do Stashhub too 😂
Gorgeous slip dress Alex very you 🥰xx
Thank you! 😊
The look suits you❤. Just ordered a recycled (used, lol)copy of the book…. I now need a slip dress!!
Super dress many outfits, love it.
Thank you so much
The slip dress is so good and what a fantastic tip re the zig zag on the bias seams. Presumably Maraflex would also work. I just love the overall look you have created and agree with your comments re the satin not feeling as “daytime” as the viscose print. I do love Tessuti patterns.
Thanks, so much. I still haven't tried Maraflex! but I would have thought so.
Hello Alex, I love the look and will be doing the same thing with my regular dresses. I find it more versatile than a skirt.
Perfect! If they're not restrictive to wear really you're just wearing a nightie 😂
Great outfit . Very curated xx
Thank you! 😊
Cute combo!
🐯
Loved the dress, looks really stylish with your jumper. Love Lamaze fabrics, and did a hack of two patterns to make your Peony dress in their Aztec Tiles viscose. Is that ethical to ‘borrow’ someone’s pattern but make the garment using other makes?
Yeah, of course you’re being creative 😁❤️❤️
As always Alex, your makes are inspiring. Thank you for all the information on making the slip dress...always helpful. Apologies in advance if you mentioned this. Could you please tell me what size you made? 😀
I made a small, I'm in between small and medium but in my experience bias cut dresses tend to come up bigger so took a punt.
Thank you 😇
I've gotten off a lot of email lists. Other than like candy and oranges for stockings, stuff is done for Christmas. Even then I've had so many companies in my email multiple times a day. It is definitely stressful.
It's awful, we don't even have thanksgiving in the UK !
Love the video about your slip dress. It’s encouraging. But I wonder how tall are you? I’m 5’ 3” and am wary of long skirt lengths but think the shape of the bias cut is so stylish it may work for me. Think I’ll make a toile. I also love the crop top and like others say no drafty gap. Thank you 😊
I'm 5'7" and completely height blind, I honestly never notice how tall or short other people are, which is just as well as my Husband isn't the tallest. ❤
Ah I forgot - in a recent past video you mentioned you had gotten some beautiful fabric from Lamaze so I checked out their site & found 2 blouse patterns by Cousette; the Hariette Blouse & the Blondinette Blouse which I would really like to get. I emailed them to ask if those patterns came with cup sizes since doing a Full Bust Adjustment on suck detailed blouses would be quite complicated. I have yet to receive a reply. I was hoping since you buy from them maybe you'd know??? Cousette Patterns seems to be Lamazi's own pattern brand since I can't find it anywhere else. Help please.
I don't think they're Lamazi's own brand, but they only sell through a few outlets. I haven't made any ... yet, it's only a matter of time 😀 have you tried typing Cousette patterns into youtube and seeing if someone's done a review?
I'm interested in your conclusions
What do you think is the best way to stay stitch bias seams, Alex? 😊
I just use my regular stitch length within the seam allowance, it usually does the trick Becky xx
@@AlexJudgeSewsThanks, Alex. I was just concerned that putting them through the sewing machine might stretch them before I've even started. xx 😁
xXX👍👍👍
