I'm 74. I refuse to be taken care of. I bought an acre, and started an olive tree farm. I'm on social security, but can't stand the forced socialism of it, and getting away from it as soon as possible since the country is bankrupt, and will even be broke broke bankrupt in a short while, I believe on purpose, has anyone seen the budgetary pie lately? Unsustainable. Socialism is a failure, even in a country that pretends there is none. When you're old and allow yourself to be taken care of with decent health, you are the problem.
Good for you. I hate to think it's a conspiracy but I have to admit that when you get over 50 you are really set to the sidelines. So, yes, I think you did a good move there.
Wow! I grew up rough and with nothing in rural Kentucky. Having said that, I guess I have to thank God. I never hung out with any of the types of people you described. It’s called life choices. You can make good ones even though you don’t have much.
Yep. I live in NC now and have slowed down considerably but then I am 69 and have lived enough crazy life so fishing seems to fit for me. Thanks for the comment!
During the depression, people were willing to work and yet starved. Now, they're not willing to work and are eating plenty
Life is a conveyer belt. The new ones at one end and the old ones just fall off.
Never thought of it like that but man, that's for real real.
