Love this! Grateful for having Eric, in our community such a wonderful person, thanks man!
great information
Can you do a video on behind the scenes stuff like contracts, subcontracts, LLC vs Scorp, mechanics lien, all the paperwork lol.
Maybe. I’ll make a note
What would you want to know about those things
Quick question, how do you deal with customers who tell you "My budget is $2000" when you know the job will be ATLEAST $4000? Is it still worth going to these customers in person for the estimate? Or should I give them a ballpark first?
I don’t worry much since it shouldn’t happen often. I’ll try to help them get a paint job that fits their budget and meets their needs. If I can’t, that’s ok. Won’t win them all
Awesome video, love your sales content! Quick question, how do you deal with customers on the initial call who keep insisting on getting a ballpark over the phone?
We let them know how big of a range it can be… $2k-$10k depending on what we are painting and prep and materials. Then explain our estimate process
Erick, how can I, as a COMPLETE beginner in the painting business, educate my self on what are high end paints. What are the low quality ect?
Wouod you be able yo make a “mock” interview video on how you do your walk through, and how you talk to the customer? Maybe sit down and have a live estimate interview
I don’t think we will do that. But we have detailed training in the pbp program on sales
30 seconds into number one and I don’t really do that either. I don’t give estimates to people that may not actually paint their house. That’s why I charge for estimates and that weeds out the dreamers
I think you’re also missing out on business. We sell a lot of jobs to people who aren’t quite sure if or when they’ll paint. I think our customers are busy and don’t get estimates for fun. If you’re happy with your results don’t change a thing though!
This is amazing. Such good content! What would you say is the average close rate on quoted jobs?
It varies a LOT company to company. Good companies selling at healthy prices… like 35-40%
Do you have seminars in NJ?
Everything we do is online and zoom. Then we have our member events in Colorado. We don’t do traveling seminars or anything like that
Before I even watch number 1. I can already say I disagree about number 4. Who cares about what their price expectations are, most people haven’t a clue as to what my business needs to charge to actually turn a good profit
It matters. We have trained thousands of people in sales and managing price expectations will help sell more jobs
