Get aggressive, "find business and NOT wait for it to find you." If you take anything from this video that should be it. This industry just like any other is a jungle and only the smart, efficient, and proactive contractors survive and thrive. Great video Eric, keep up the excellent work chief.
Hi Eric, ive been watching your videos since January. I had 0 entrepreneurial experience. I quit a ten year job at a corporate giant to start my own painting & drywall company. In the 6 months I've been open I've averaged 6k a month in sales. Thank you Eric. Truly.
Awesome man. Gotta start somewhere. All up from here!

How much do you recommending spending on lead services and do you try to get your profit margins to a certain percent before paying for lead services? Also how important do you think ranking on google is?
Ranking on google is super valuable. Spend as much as you possibly can on lead services (or any marketing) as long as it's profitable (I want my marketing spend under 10% of revenue generated). And, in general, you want your gross profit margins around 50%. This is a simple answer. But it's not the whole answer. This question fits into the full business strategy, business financials, etc... Which I cover in a ton of depth in my full training course here: www.paintingbusinesspro.com/course
another important thing is Social Media Facebook, Instangram!
Are you getting a lot of estimates that way?
Next time use a different color sharpie on the white board
Will do
Hi Eric!
Not related to the video but how do you keep track guys that work for you? How do you keep track of their hours and what job they worked??
We pay people based on performance. We don't really care how many hours they work - we care about the results they produce. Basically, if they aren't getting results, they will lose their job - no matter how many hours they work. And if they are getting results, we don't care how many hours they work. So we don't really track hours.
The exception would be if we used employee painters. In that case, we would use some kind of software or phone app or tool to track hours. ExactTime (or something like that) I've heard works well.
Have you checked out TSheets?
@@steveburnett984 Thanks Steve!
people doesn't like when you knock their doors

Is door to door considered solicitation? Have quite a bit of neighborhoods full of no solicitation on the doors
Yes, it would be considered solicitation.
So how would you go about sales of getting aggressive
@@9vikings7 Go to other neighborhoods or other houses.
Or hit those houses anyways if you want to.
