My Grandparents had almost this same Palm Harbor home they bought new in 94.The fireplace and surround was in a different spot. It was along the outside of the back wall. THe stone work and the cabinets were exactly like this one and original to the house. It had the exact same bump outs. My granddad put on a large front and rear deck with cover when new .He bought this particular brand because of how it was built with real plywood and real 2x4 and 2x6's. He even paid extra for the roof to be decked in plywood also. He paid 55k for it cash delivered and set up in 94. Grandmother passed in 2003 and He passed away in 2008.We sold it to his best friend and neighbor who still lives in it and it is still in great shape.
I love the style and layout of this home. It's been mistreated. I live in my mobile home for 10 years and it looked as good as day I moved out. Because i take pride in my home and things
We need to hear Brother Donnie's wisdom! If he says something is 6", it probably is! You guys are a lot of fun to watch. You definitely know your stuff!!
I have a 98 -28x 60 palm harbor built with 3/4 tong & groove plywood floors & 1/2 OSB all the way around perimeter & vinyl siding.bought it new in 98 . still looks great very well built home. Cost 54,000 in 98
Isn't that nuts! Even my 2008 has more then doubled, glad I bought it, I own it taxes are cheaper ,even if it depreciated its mine and with care For willing it will last till I die I'm 74
Lol there are even mobile homes that have plywood sheathing around the exterior. Here in Phoenix AZ brand new million plus dollar houses only have a few sheets of osb around the exterior on corners and the rest is sheathed with literal styrofoam lol. Then the entire house is stuccoed and looks like a sturdy block built house even though underneath it’s just styrofoam. You could send a screwdriver through the thin layer of stucco and foam if you pushed hard enough.
This was a nice home. The extensive damage really make you wonder what happened. It would be interesting to see the remodeled too see how they do it. And the value afterwards.
I had a Fleetwood, purchased in 1986 and it was as grand as this one. It did have a huge Stone face fireplace. We sold it and its still setting there just as lovely as the day we first lived in it. I dont know what the new homeowners have done on the inside but I still ride by occasionally, look at the landscaping I did many years ago, the huge brick front porch and underpinning, huge deck on back, split rail fencing, it was a beautiful home and still is. It was a top of the line back then and very comparable to this one in the architecture 😂❤
The fireplace looks a lot like what came with the 88 or 89 model I grew up in. We also originally had carpet in the bathrooms, including around the big, round, garden tub. The main thing I notice different from our house and all the ones I've seen you guys look at is that we had fairly sturdy wooden shelves built into the closets, and "closet rods" made out of pvc pipe.
i house sat a really fancy new mobilehome once, and it was so nice. My brother rented a MH when he got out of the army, they always fascinated me, i almost bought one a few years ago, but bought a small 1,100 sq ft vintage 1927 dutch colonial with the old wood work, fancy fire place, built in book cases.
I worked for almost 10 years at Southridge Homes (Patriot Homes now), Stone Fireplaces was a thing in the 90's. We would build them normal, and frame around the fireplace, a third party mason service was hired to install the real or fake stones depending on the customer order.
Yes, I agree, back in the day this was a "top of the line model". But I hafta admit, I'm not a big fan of green. Or, carpet in the bath. Or, 'Graceland windows'. Or 'bumpouts' (which seem like a recipe for disaster to me, especially that weird reverse bumpout on the back.) And there is so much water damage to the ceilings, it makes me wonder if the metal roof wasn't a last ditch effort to repair it. There was so much water damage on the ceiling that I wondered if maybe a tree had fallen on this home and the metal roof was a stopgap. Anyway, if you guys take this one on, I salute you!
It has to be a 1995, because the 94 & 96 Models had different shaped headlights & grille, plus the 95 was the only year that had no tail fins or radial tires.🤪
Damn I need that falcon stereo this built-in I have a home in South Carolina that has one of these stereos in the kitchen and it’s got speakers of the house radio still works great I can’t get the tape player to work
Nice video guys you 2 are very informative. Yuck carpet in the bathroom!! I think this is a nice home to remodel then you sell it with the property and make a huge profit. I really hate skylights the first thing to destroy a roof then the inside. Keep an eye on this I’d like to see there remodel on this one
Often times you can find the spec sheet with roof load, wind zone, model number, manufacturer and year UNDER THE SINK or inside the breaker box usually when it has the nice oak door. Furnace spec sheet should have the date the furnace was manufactured. Hope that helps.
I come for the Donnie"isms" and stay for the not affiliated! LOL Me and hubby used to love looking at these. I would'a lived in one but he refused. Especially in those nice parks that have amenities. The only down draw to those is the ever increasing lot rents though. Oh no! Did I miss the crawl in? Next thing I know he was standing there! I could not have gotten in there to save my stink'n butt life! LOL. Can't wait to hear what year it was. I said '91.
Look in the cabinet below the sink or above the stove. There's usually a "build sheet" taped in that has the mobile home's year, wind zone rating, and furnace type. Especially from mobile homes from the 2000's and earlier.
Ok, Donnie, let's go find that free tin. Lol. This was a really nice home when it was new, but all that mold!!! For my taste, some of these older mobile homes have some character. The new ones today just seem so plain/ cookie cutterish, just my 2 cents. But yes, keep us updated on this one!!! Great video guys!!!
Cool home, shame it has all that damage. Could be a good project for someone, but with that much mold I personally wouldn’t want to mess with it unless it was a free house
Lol I'm gonna say 94 to 98 deer valley or palm harbor. My parents got one just about alike. Theirs is a palm harbor theirs is a 96 same walls green carpet and yes carpet in both bathrooms. This was the year they started calling them modular homes. Yes they came with that stone work my parents did. They still live in theirs. The roof has recently started leaking but it was only after they had a porch attached to it. They all came woth a family room and a living room kitchen dining room. My folks bought one that had 4 beds but they had them make the 3 beds into 2 bigger rooms woth walk in closets for my brothers.
I HAVE A 1999 FLEETWOOD WITH A ORIGINAL STONE FIREPLACE, I CONVERTED IT TO PROPANE AND ELIMINATED AND COVERED THE EXHAUST PIPE. MY SETUP IS NEARLY IDENTICAL TO THIS MODEL, EXCEPT MY FIREPLACE IS IN A CORNER. SAME SETUP. THE FLOOR STONEWORK IS AN UPGRADE. FLEETWOOD HOMES HAVE POPCORN PLASTER CEILINGS. THIS IS DEFINITELY A HIGH PRICED HOME. THIS MODEL IS A MODIFIED LAKEPOINT SERIES UNIT. I HAVE A DIFFERENT FRONT THAT IS STRAIGHT, NO OFFSETS. FINIS PAX
Maybe it came with a deck/porch? Some homes have a deck but usually it's like at the end with a room on one side then a deck or covered porch. Idk very strange
I love watching these videos, but it also kinda hurts… I grew up in a mobile home park (a nice one - well kept, in a wealthy town) between 1990 and 2002; my parents would occasionally drag my sister and I to the new home dealers on a Saturday to check out what was available; they had plans of replacing our 1972 Champion 2 bedroom with a new three-bed doublewide. I remember seeing these homes on display when they were new (this one by the way SCREAMS 1995/96 based on the overall design and features). We almost pulled the trigger on a new Titan in 1997 or so, but ended up in a new Liberty, delivered and set up (on a bigger lot) in October 1998. My parents upgraded the windows (double pane single hung), front entry door (house-type vs trailer door), sliding glass door off the back, skylites in kitchen and baths, porcelain sinks and upgraded tubs (better than those awful acrylic trailer tubs that turn yellow), and chose the carpeting and wallboard finish. That home still exists, but it’s on its third or fourth owner already - and beginning to look its age. From day one, it had issues - roofline wasn’t straight, lots of fit and finish issues, my bedroom outside corner was drafty, and the clearcoat started peeling on ALL the “brass” doorknobs within a few months. I still miss that home though… so, a few details I remember - in 1998, they were still using MDF flooring and roof decking (the entire industry has since switched to OSB). The exterior sheathing was a Homosote-like product; basically compressed cellulose with a water resistant finish. The dealer showed my parents a swatch of wallcovering that was improperly cropped, which hid much of the pattern, resulting in the master bedroom being fitted with KITCHEN wallpaper, an issue that was never resolved. The lot was improperly prepped, so the home always racked and groaned during freeze/thaw cycles and is likely out of plumb now.
The fireplace and built in are original. They did make stone fireplaces. My parents have one in their double wide. Maybe the stone at the bottom might not be
That stone at the bottom, on the floor, looked like someone went to Home Depot and got pavers. They were lined up as well as the laminated floor in the kitchen.

I bet when it was new it was a dream home. It’s a shame it wasn’t cared for, I think it has potential.
Nice house but it’s tour all the hell now
That one's a moldy mess, probably a real nice home when new. I'd hate to be on the road behind it when the tin roof blew off. Enjoyed the video guys!

Yep
We got a brand new double wide in 1994 and it had a massive corner stone fireplace that look like the stone in this one.

The dishwasher full of dishes was interesting in an otherwise empty trailer.
Yep
Our 1997 doublewide had a GE dishwasher like the one in this video. It worked until around 7 years ago.
They don’t make them like that anymore
I always figured when they transport these they wrap them in plastic. Had me thinking whey you said the ruff flowed off.. 😅
I don’t put plastic on the top mobile. When are used, they only put them on the sides in between.
Donnie…free tin? I love it, I, too am a born scavenger.

Carpet on the tub , a very nice touch lol

Underneath the kitchen sink where the serial number is, should have a date or on the windows.
