Hey all, thanks for watching. This race was honestly one of the most memorable experiences I’ve had on a bike. If you'd like to participate in K2N check out www.k2nstage.com. Code BCPOV will get you $500 off for teams and $300 off for solo entries. I'm not making commission on this, just trying to help Brett and his philanthropic work. 50% of all profits from the race goto good causes.
Watching day one here is the first time in all your videos where I was actually really scared for you guys. That cold looked like no joke! Fantastic video and can’t wait to see what you guys do next!
This is the best mountain bike documentary I have ever watched, never once lost interest! among the different shots, background music, showing all the raw footage with locals and wildlife including facts and knowledge, truly shows off Africa as a beautiful country as well!!! Big massive congratulations to both you and Yuka!!!
Eric and Yuka, it was such a pleasure hosting you in Tanzania, and being able to share some of our favorite trails with you. You've done a remarkable job showing our race course to the world -- as challenging, rough, and ungroomed as it may be. But we appreciate even more the way you've highlighted your greater experience. Taking the time to experience a new culture, spend time with local people, and learn some of their language makes every adventure experience all the richer. You two are the best kinds of cyclists and travelers, and we thank you for sharing that with the world. Karibuni tena Tanzania!
I totally agree with everything written here; you guys showed us mere mortals a fabulous culture and landscape with such good humour throughout what must have been a gruelling event. Many thanks for letting us venture with you both, albeit vicariously 🙏
This video deserves many awards. It made me tear up and is one of the best documentary style videos I have watched in a long time. You both should seriously consider submitting this video to film festivals.
Great effort in this amazing adventure to both of you! I agree with others - submit to film festivals. In my opinion, the video wasn't long enough, like you two I wanted the adventure to continue - your adventure reminded me of climbing Kilimanjaro years ago - everyday was a different adventure entering a new climatic daily during the ascent. I remember not wanting it to end on my last day down the mountain. Even though I slowed my pace to enjoy it more, it ended too soon. Thanks for triggering those memories for me and inspiring me to consider a new adventure!@@BCpov
It's very true. I was wondering if it was just me, maybe I was feeling emotional at the time but I didn't think I was. it really affected me in a big way. Very very wonderful video and by far the best BCPOV video I've ever seen, even as a fan of the channel. I never would have thought they had this in them, and I really don't mean that as an insult! This is just fantastic in a different way than their other videos are. I think it could hang at film festivals for sure. very affecting.
I am out of words after watching this. This isn't just a UA-cam video. It's a film. A film of high quality. Your kindness, love for the sport, for the community, and for the people is amazing. It is well filmed, and the storytelling is beautiful. This is by far your best creation so far. Keeping creating and doing what you love.
I was hesitant to watch this because of the length of the video. This is one of the best videos I've watched in quite some time. You have a real talent, Eric. Thank you for documenting such an amazing adventure.
Man you two have really transcended being just another “mountain biking youtube channel” with all of the people you meet and places you go, especially with the storytelling and filmmaking
This is one of the greatest mountain biking videos ever produced. You two are amazing human beings and this absolutely needs to be shared to a wider audience. Definitely submit this to a film festival or something.
Eric and Yuka, As an avid mountain biker, I have been watching your channels for a couple of years now, through many of your ups and downs as you journey around the world with your bikes. This video is special, not only for the wonderful shots of the riding, but of the people you meet along the way as well. I’m a professor of sociology and anthropology at a small college, and I will use this video to show to my students (many of whom have never travelled out of the area, much less the state or country) your interactions with the Masai and others along the way. We all belong to such a small world, and to bring it together in this way and show how people just want to live their lives, happily if possible, is beautiful. Thank you so much for sharing! Stay well, and keep sharing your adventures on the trails!
Thanks for this Eric and Yuka! The editing in this video is top notch. The scenes selected and how you pulled the story together and captured your emotions was top notch.
Armin from Germany is touched when Eric from Canada and Yuka from Japan meet Sibor and Silah from Tanzania (at 34:34)- Thank you for this wonderful adventure mit elephants and giraffes! ❤
Just watched the whole video. Amazing. Especially the local kids, animals and nature. Proud of both of you. You're both ready for Survivor now. Yuka is some tough girl!
That's a documentary! It's amazing! Thank you to share with us. It's so emotional, I cried a couple of time hahaha. This world is full of injustices, but you take it the love part. That you guys so much. And yes, everybody wants to be your friends hahaha
I was a little put off when Eric told me how long this video was going to be. But you guys really pulled this off! I was enthralled from beginning to end! I laughed, I cried, it was an all around amazing documentary....that's exactly what it felt like, a great nature adventure documentary! The editing was great, the content was great, and Eric and I were almost convinced to do a stage race ourselves! Ha, kind of kidding! This looked tough, and you two are so awesome for completing it! I am not a huge mtb video lover/watcher.....but you now have a fan in me! I give it a 10 out of 10! A must watch!!
Thank you for being the kind, appreciative two-wheeled ambassadors that we should all strive to be. The moments shared are not yours alone, and your impact on those you had met along the way are measured in the smiles you left behind. Amazing video. Thanks for sharing!!
Standing ovation. As everyone is saying, this is truly such a beautiful, inspiring, and wholesome film, documentary and much more than a UA-cam video. This has left I along side many other viewers emotional and inspired. The wholesomeness to stop to say high, to interact, feed, and befriend the locals even during the heat of the race is incredible. Outstanding work Yuka and Eric.
Bravo, Eric and Yuka. I’m watching from my hotel room in Krakow after a 5-day assignment in Ukraine filming interviews with pastors. Watching your journey through this intense race was a welcome respite and time to decompress. It was a joy to observe your perseverance through stage 1 and all the joyful encounters with the people along the way during the rest of the race. I especially enjoyed watching the boys getting to see their land from the drone-view. You took time to shift their perspective on life, showing them kindness and respect. Those life-intersections can have lasting and significant impact. It’s been a while since I’ve watched a BC video, but I really enjoyed this adventure. Thank you for creating this excellent content.
That was an Epic adventure. Your video exceeds anything the CBC has generated in years. Eric's narration is spectacular. You are amazing ambassadors for Canada. Two genuine and interesting people. Bravo.
This is the best UA-cam video I have seen in a very long time! The comments below are absolutely correct, you guys should enter this in the film festivals. This film touched my very heart. Keep up the good work!
This is not just a UA-cam video. This is worthy of an award-winning and beautiful documentary! Thank you so much for sharing this work of art. Thanks Eric, thanks Yuka.
An amazing video Eric and Yuka! Thanks for letting us experience it with you. I loved see the connections you made with the locals, especially the idea that just being in the same place at the same time is a cause for celebration. Your music pairings really amped up the emotional aspects, made me tear up!
Dude this video captivated me from start to finish. Great job Eric. You and yuka made an amazing adventure and video. Bravo for accomplishing this goal and sharing it with us. 🙏
I stopped 10 minutes into the video and comments exactly what I was thinking. Inspirational. Emotional. You 2are lucky to have each other.Thank you for taking me halfway across the world with you, Best youtube video I have ever seen..
This is a tremendous achievement - the bike racing, the scenery, the heartwarming interactions with the locals and the wildlife. And the production quality - this could be a documentary film. Obviously a labor of love, congratulations!
This was so nice to watch! I ride the Vermont 50 every year. Some people race it, I just try to finish it. Getting passed by the runners always makes me smile and the hours in the saddle, grinding the climbs, is both painful and euphoric.
I've followed you guys since forever.. Eric is a very, very lucky man. I admire Yuka greatly..hard not to love her attitude and world view.. Well done you guys!
This footage is spectacular. Amazing editing. The music was perfect. The wildlife sightings had me tearing up. Can't imagine how moving it was in person. I am so happy that you two that you were able to experience such a wonderful journey together. This event is on my bucket list for sure. Hoping they allow some pedal assist bikes for the first stage in the future. 😁
By letting them ride on a bike Eric is giving these kids a day to remember forever. The experience of being there and riding your bikes is more valuable than winning.
This was beautiful, an emotional rollercoaster, the animals, all the kids. Incredible story and the length was not a chore at all. It really did feel like I was watching a documentary. Incredible job and can’t wait to see you both again!
The edit quality of this video is just outstanding! The scenery, the drone shots, the background music... All of that brings awesome experience just by watching it! Thank you Eric and Yuka! Great, great work!
Godbless you guys! greetings from philippines!!!! been a fun of you both eric and yuka since pandemic! I always watch your videos! take care you both always! Ride safe! shred safe!
Great storytelling. And you're right it wouldn't be the same at all without Yuka. So much joy in her presence even when she is suffering through misery.
I wish I could like this video multiple times that is how much I enjoyed it. You and Yuka got to experience something most people will never experience in their lives. Thank you for taking us all on the journey with you. Best hour and 25 minutes I've spent in a long time.
By far one of the best videos I’ve watched. The animals, families, children and environment took me on so many emotional levels, this will remain with me for a long time. Thanks for taking us on your journey.
Eric and Yuka, Congratulations to you both for completing the K2N race. My wife and I started the video and couldn’t stop watching! It’s so well done! Thank you for sharing your experience and allowing my wife and I to tag along via your video. Bravo! 👏👏👏💯
This was a beautiful journey, the interactions with the kids and the locals were some of the best parts of the video. Their hesitant curiosity of things we take for granted really gives a different perspective. Thanks for sharing this experience.
Such Beautiful journey and I’m extremely happy y’all shared so much!! The amount of emotions expressed is beyond like any other UA-cam videos. This should be a film!!
Wow guys, this is one of the most beautiful things I have ever watched. The filming, the scenery, the cycling. the people, Yuka's ultra expressive faces. Well done! I definitely need a ride like this in my life.
This video was next level story telling ,it was beautifully put together. You and Yuka are so kind and real and the interactions that allows are really exceptional . Well done and thank you
Thank you both for filming all of this & sharing so much of your trek with us! What an intense & unforgettable experience this entire trip must have been. I think my favourite part (haven't finished yet, writing this after the group of kids swarmed for high fives!) was when you were letting those 2 *ride your bike showing them how & filming it so they could see it played back. Such a precious moment!
What an absolutely awesome film guys and an incredible adventure. Its been a roller-coaster of emotions from seeing you struggle day one to watching the children so happy to meet you. You are both truly an inspiration. Well done on creating such unique content 👏👏👏
That was amazing. I was just wondering why you hadn't posted for a while. Now I know why. Great job editing. I loved the drone shot of the valley. Just WOW~~~
Kudos to you and Yuka - Africa is a beautiful place. I could literally smell all the fragrances from the video. Love the kids just running up to say hello, so friendly.
Words won't be enough to express how awesome this video is. What an absolute epic adventure! I can only imagine the feelings while editing. Thank you for sharing and all your effort.
This was truly fantastic to watch. The first 15 minutes I felt for you guys. The emotion, the tiredness, being wet and cold. The story telling is amazing, the montage is simple but yet so captivating. Lovely ride of your life. Thanks for sharing it with us.
