are you team Pico or team Meta?
Team Meta (RIP Oculus) in general for the company itself, but the Pico 4 shows that Meta needs to step up their game with the Quest 3
Meta, because #1 If you bought either Meta headsets *both 256 GB and 128 GB* and you filled up your storage or even *bought* 4 games or somethin yeah I wouldn't recommend *buying* them again. #2 Ok we can all agree Pico is just copying Meta and nothing beats the original, Plus, many people don't trust Chinese products. But I do, but some people won't care and might start copying Meta. #3 Many people don't know about Pico because Oculus/Meta has higher population of people using their headsets and now Meta is doing good stuff it's another downside for Pico and even if they make the price cheaper. Some dude is gonna think it's a fake and once they do start getting more people their gonna have to raise the price AGAIN and kinda lose it's popularity.
For Pico however #1 They have a slight clearer vision in their lenses. #2 It has a cheaper price... Yeah nothing much
NOTE: ALSO THESE ARE ALL JUST WHAT I THINK OF IT, IF YOU WANT BUY A PICO HEADSET CUZ BOTH ARE COOL :)
I will tell you after the Meta Connect
What we need in order to actually compete with meta is not just a bunch of devices with their own exclusive software stores, what we need is the mobile equivalent of SteamVR, which ensures that no matter what hardware is made to compete with Meta, there WILL be a library of games. The OpenXR exists for a reason.
Unless any other headset can natively play a similar number of games and apps, they don't have a chance of competing properly, even with major hardware improvements. Software sells long term.
I strongly agree, but I'm not sure what incentive they would have to lead to this. A company like Meta explicitly seeks to claim a userbase by showcasing popular exclusives to owners of their HMDs and offering financial support to developers who want to make VR content for their platform. They don't grow their walled garden effectively if everyone can buy and use the apps/games from their storefront on competitor's devices because they are the market leader right now. To shift this, Pico and other companies would need to bring in the big guns and solidify a fair chunk of the market to make cooperative marketing financially useful to them. This is how I see it, anyway.
I am hoping that sidequest with is recent Google investment will aim to fill the open store for standalone headsets nich.
Yea I wish it's possible, but the whole marketing strategy of VR atm is to sell headsets at a huge loss so that they can reap profits from selling games and software. If something like Sidequest becomes the main library for VR games, we might see headsets selling closer to PCVR headset prices or higher
Agree - long as Pico listens to us - its going to be smooth sailing compare to what meta was trying to pull over and over again to wall garden their projects. Stay open and allow other headsets to come online. While you might be compared - they will always still come back for their games and that still means more sells long term then short term gains. Plus I dont think it really matters. Pico remove many doors that was hurting Meta like having to have a phone to setup the device or working with IDP. So long as they keep making it easy to get into VR they are always going to get a better positive view. I wouldnt fear if they bring up the cost... while it suck... the hardware is a one time purchase and it can last a strong while. Granted they can't go crazy - but so long as the features and price match up I dont think people are going to fus too much about it. Also, before someone points it out - yes Quest Pro doesnt really match up to its features as in it doesnt have a future for Quest 3. While the price isnt something easy to swallow, its all the native issues you have ot deal with on being on Meta's platform. Along with the fact that Eye and FAce tracking being the biggest features wont be seen on Quest 3 and will be another 4 yearsbefore we might see it come to customer product in geneal. If they knew this.. they could've just release another headset with upgraded specs + new controllers for more instead that would've had a better future.
Valve Deckard
So far pico seems really good and a lot of the points quest got are because it’s been out for longer so this really makes it exiting for the future of pico
Exactly how I see it, the library, the UI, software, mods etc will all get better with times with the Pico 4 so I think for people new to VR I'd say that the Pico 4 is the perfect entry level headset
@@Dr.MorsIcatis Good points and yes I agree, but a lot of the points for Pico 4 is because it is newer tech. Meta is a more established company that has put years and years of software deveoptment into The Quest 2 and a lot will carry over to the The Quest 2 Pro and 3. We have to wait and see if Pico also can do the same for their VR headset software wise which at the moment looks like is emulating Meta's software. It's too early to tell but I am routing for both as it is good for the VR community. It is also about time that Meta had a real competitor.
@@rionz1986 This tbh. We're comparing a 2 yo hardware to a brand new one. A lot of the software-related points are super important, such as ease of modding and game support. The quest 2 has so many users so game developers will likely spend more resources making sure their game runs well on the quest 2. Hardware stuff are actually easier to "upgrade" by simply releasing a new model. If Meta can listen to the feedback over the past 2 years and bring these features to the Quest 3, it'll likely remain the dominant headset for the next few years at least
Whenever I go to chipotle I get their pico it’s so good I agree I’m excited for the future of pico
Pico just copying meta
and my god the pancake lenses with great edge to edge clarity is a massive improvement to the little annoying sweet spot you find yourself adjusting to get right all the time in the q2
Another plus is the light weight, your neck will thank you
100% my issues with the quest 2 too heavy and blurry on the sides and ofc the goggles effect.
The ability to reduce head movement due to the ability to 'eye scan' across that 105 degrees FOV. That's the game changer for me. I experienced it before. It makes for a massive reduction to head movement. Reactions in games are measurably faster.
For me it was a no brainer as I bought the quest 2 back in late 2020. I sold my q2 for only 80EUR less than what I purchased it for almost 2 years ago thanks to the price increase. I just had to add another 120EUR for a brand new pico 4. (I dont have many quest standalone games I use it for PCVR)
Don't forget the quest 2 has better libary and demanding games thanks to its optimaztion technology that pico 4 dont have like ASW 2.0
@@ForceInEvHorizon notice they said they use it for pcvr
@@thebush6077 pcvr but not native on the headset...
@@ForceInEvHorizon native quest games sucks anyway so the pico is 10x better even with ur comment
@@PeanutLover11 so games like bonelab or Resident evil 4 or even beat saber (all 3 are the most popular games on quest including pcvr except of course resident evil) sucks? Pfft okay
what Tyriel says here kind of sums up a very important aspect:
"that's the headset I'm using the most right now (pico 4), because it's just that great to actually have something comfortable [on] your head all the time, instead of something heavy (quest 2) that you can't wait to take [off]."
ua-cam.com/video/DynWo08d2bg/v-deo.html
Agreed. I have a fully modded quest 2 but its still uncomfortable after an hour.
Well said, I picked up on that as well. So given Quest 2 or Pico, you choose Pico all the time, that certainly says something!
I can wear my quest 2 all day long with the bobo battery head strap..
When you mentioned that PICO 4 does not have a headphone jack, that killed it for me. Gonna go quest 2 I'm afraid
Great show and some interesting discussions.
I think we need to step back away from raw specs and look at the Quest Pro as a tool for developers to work on essential AR / VR software upgrades. Quest Pro us essential for the development of these areas and if we want to see that whole integrated VR and AR super HMD this stage needs to happen. VR's evolution won't always be super exciting but devices like the Quest Pro is vital for the future of that path.
Great video, thank you! Based on that, I think I'll hold off. I was hoping to see less screen door in those through-the-lens shots - maybe Quest Pro, but really hoping Pimax comes out swinging with a great experience on Crystal 🤞🤞
Super informational and clear thanks! Hard to find a good comparison between these two!
Another great video - you always have amazing energy and info, it's really apprecaited!
Great review, I liked the categories you used to measure against.
How about a side-by-side graphics comparison on non-PCVR games to see how much the extra pixels help if at all?
Great to see more content coming from you :-)
Great video. More comparison videos please. I have to decide what my first headset will be :)
I can't even weigh in on this till tomorrows Meta Connect event. Even if I didn't have my Quest 2(and all the software) I think I'd like to see what they have coming out. Pico 4 verses Quest 2, probably results in the Pico having the edge. But the Quest 2 was released 2 years ago with something new coming down the pipe. We'll have to see what the new Meta options are, and how long we have to wait.
Yep, I haven’t gotten a vr headset at all or a pc and I think I’m going to make a decision to buy it after the meta event
Yap, for fair : Pico 4 must versus Quest Pro
Aahah £1500 quest pro sure..pico won.
@@BalintGulyas hey do you know if it’s possible to play roblox in vr with the pico?
@@MaskedBaji I don't have pico yet...so sorry don't know. But i guess xbox cloud games will come to that platform too just a browser needed...
Great video!
Know the pico 4 does have hand tracking. You need to enable it in developer settings!
Hi Tyrell.
if you have a modded quest 2:
great headstrap,
battery bank,
controller covers (knuckles style)
facial interface thats thinner so i get better fov (about 15%)
Would you use that modded quest 2 or would you use a pico 4 as your daily driver?
I would still get the pico 4 as it has 2x the res and higher fov by default, plus the fact its way lighter and more balanced its a no brainer but sucks that you gotta pay extra to get it delivered to the USA lmao
I use my unmodded Quest 2 for PCVR. If the Pico 4 comes to the US, I'll probably wait a little longer until they iron out everything for the PCVR side of things. After that, goodbye bad strap and red VR face, hello balanced head strap and beautiful 105 degree 4K display!
So, help me my dear friend. Im planning on doing a full PCVR with steam library, should i wait for pico 4 to get better compatibility functions or what? Is Valve Index still a good choice for it's price and the cable behind it? Well, i of course want some nice display without frensel lens, but a god tier hand tracking is something im looking into also, what do you suggest, wait, or go for something specific?
I currently live at Germany, and Pico 4 sells at a store close to me, called Saturn, it's like a Walmart here, a trustable place. But, im not sure what to do with so much options available.

Really really great video thank you!!
Great vid comparison Tyriel, thank you, very comprehensive . . . . . . . but, more of your lovely doggy please 😁👍🎉🐕
I have a hp reverb G2 since I play mostly pcvr games. Is there any point getting Pico 4 instead? Any thoughts?
Would this headset be better if I intend to use it wirelessly connected to my pc?
Hey Tyriel!! Excluding the controllers, does the software (stream ass.) and virtual desktop work correctly? I would only use pcvr.
Big question please answer: does the Pico 4 discharge faster than the Quest2 on a wired connection experience? Or can it remain charged while gaming on a wired experience indefinitely?
Thanks quite helpful when deciding.
"I took alot of screenshits"
Best line in the whole video
Is Virtual Desktop going to be there from the start? And does it work better than the built in Wifi, do I have to rebuy the VDesktop App?
It's pretty tempting to get one. Pcvr feels like it need a bit more clarity and I've not spent much money on the oculus store so I wouldn't feel too bad about buying a couple games again. I'm more focused on upgrading my pc currently though so will probably wait.
My next headset will definitely be pancake lenses and better ipd adjustment. I honestly dislike the Q2 lenses and feel my eyes straining if I'm not staring straight in the sweet spot.
Yeah, I also heard from different Pico 4 testers, that they never had a headset on their head where they have that less problems with eye strain.
@blizado3675 Yeah the eyes are nice and relaxed in the PIco4 just like your looking around the real world is how it feels. The weight distribution helps alot aswell for comfort. The quest 2 made the eyes work a bit yeah, it don't help all the weight being on the front of your face aswell.l often found i couldn't tell if i had eye strain or face ache.
Hello, as first VR headset which one should I consider ? Pico4 or quest2 (can’t wait for quest 3 😅)
Mostly for standalone VR (old gtx 970…)
I feel like, if you have anything less than the original Quest (the first one), get the Pico. If you have the Quest 2, just keep it and wait for the next best thing.
For most yes, but there are maybe some usecases where it is ok to sell the Quest 2 for the Pico 4. I also read that some already sold their Quest 2 for the Pico 4. If you are not happy with the Quest 2 hardware (for example your IPD is in between / the headset is to (front) heavy), then it also can be a reason to switch. But if you bought already many Quest 2 apps and can't not sell it with that apps for a good price, then maybe it is better to stay on the Quest 2.
Yeah. I am selling my quest 2 plus Bobo strap for more than Pico costs. For me the visual clarity for watching video was a major disappointment with Quest so Pico makes more sense for my use case.
For PCVR, how does it compare to HP G2? Does it still suffer because of compression like the Quest 2?
Thanks for explaining. I was doubting between the two devices. But I really really want to use Google Earth on the PICO4. They don't support that, do they?
Thanks! What about productivity - can it be used for it?
I saw Nathies review and he actually used an usb-c to audio + usb-C adaptor (capable of charging at the same time). Not sure though if the audio quality would suffer anything from having that adapter with earphones plugged and power through the usb-c to charge at the same time.
I ordered two of these USB C plus 3.5 audio adaptors, I hope at least one is compatible (both cheap sub $5)
Wow nice video pico looks nice 👍🏽 hey wath s that on your quest near the power button 😳??? Tanks just curious 🧐
Thanks for another great video. A couple of questions: on quest 2 you can resize web browser and video windows, I find smaller windows more comfortable to view. Is this possible with the Pico 4? Also, can you lay down in bed with the hard plastic head strap? I much prefer the fabric strap of the quest for this reason as it is very comfortable for wearing in bed (when watching videos, catch up TV etc). I have very little interest in VR gaming as I find gaming in VR causes too much eye fatigue/strain and nausea - is the Pico any different in this regard? Thanks.
Hey Tyriel, Regarding the Headphone jack... Wont a simple USB-C to Headphone jack adapter do the trick for 3rd party Headphones? Or a good pair of USB-C headphones... If you can test this, it will be very helpful information.
Personally I'm still waiting for the 3dhead
For me I'm just waiting for the quest 3 or whatever the name is. I just fecking hope the headstrap will be a basic one, without the battery integrated.
I have a stock strap on the quest 2 and i added a small padding on the back, it's so comfortable but also so thin. To play games, sleep in VR it's incredible (i spend about 10-12h in VRchat everyday, sleep included)
Perfectly summed up video and this is exactly how I feel about it. As a quest user for a few years I’ve built up over 100 games in the quest’s ecosystem so software wise I’d be at a huge disadvantage if I got the pico 4 if I wanted to rely on software as it’s still in its infancy and I’d have to buy all my games again which in the end will considerably be pricier than just spending £450. I do have access to PCVR as well but I’m in the rare minority who actually uses and plays the quest standalone more just for the convenience. What I do love about the pico as you rightly mentioned is the hardware, it’s very very nice, looks so light, comfortable and those lenses must be a dream but again not sure how much I would actually enjoy it considering software isn’t established and anything can happen with it. I’ll be sticking with my quest 2 for that reason and will likely wait for the quest 3.
Most of your Quest store games are Rift PCVR cross-buys. Certainly the better ones. All Rift PCVR games can be played perfectly fine on the Pico 4. So you wouldn't have to rebuy anything of note.
Walled garden is a really good reason not to buy Meta headsets. You're in now and there's no way out even if superior headset comes along.
I am also staying on Quest 2 for now, but wouldn't you just have to buy those games that you actually want to play again? I also have a large library, but I will probably never again bother installing Moss, Vader, Red Matter etc. ... a 100$ software budget will likely fix any holes that aren't available on PCVR anyways
Exactly the ecosystem-lock-in I avoided because of the possibility another manufacturer comes with better headsets. Bought most games on SteamVR to keep my options open.
@@megakoirakoira Alright but when you buy games on the Pico store (for those that don't have or want to invest on a VR ready PC + an headset) on what account do you buy them ? If you want to buy a standalone VR headset that will outclass the Pico in the futur how will you play your games from the Pico store ? Isn't it the same problem ?
Thanks for the comparison, very detailed. I'll be sticking with my Quest 2 for now. But if I was new to all this, then it would be a tougher decision (if the Pico was sold in the US.) I'm just glad to see the competition.
As much as the Pico 4 seems like a great step up, being unable to buy it kinda sucks. The software and storefront aren't exactly premier either. Hopefully the Quest 3 or Valve's headset can compete.
@@Qwahchees I'm sure when the Quest 3 comes out it will definitely "beat" the Pico 4, as it will have at least another year over it. Then later the Pico 5 will beat it a year later.
Just happy to see the competition and them pushing each other. That way we fans win.
I'd like to see what 3rd party options will be coming out for the Pico. I'm fine with the games available, but I'm not sure if I would need glasses insert like what VR Wave offers for other headsets. I'd also like a battery option where I can swap out an external battery to make sure I don't run out of power.
You can always do what im doing, i need glasses to see so ill just be buying some vr prescription lenses for the pico for 50$, as for the battery check the bobovr battery accessory, you can add it to the back of the pico4 and have a magnetic swappable battery and extend its battery life for an extra 2-3h
Can you charge both or one of them while playing with a battery bank?
Something to consider now is that meta has teamed up with Microsoft. This means a lot of Xbox games are going to be playabe in vr soon which is a massive win for Meta
when did meta team with microsoft if u dont mind me asking? never heard about that and am deciding which vr to potentially get at christmas
After some consideration I've decided to get a second hand Meta. I'm hanging on for the psvr 2 for games and will use a stand alone for traveling and apps, like watching movies.
I've already seen some good prices on hardly used metas, after pico drops it will be even better.
Where did you buy it from
That's what I did got it with bobo vr pro2 and 2 batteries and charger which does the headset as well as battery door £280 off eBay
7:15 the buttons on the pico neo 4 are capacitive?? I have heard otherwise and that made it a dealbreaker to me, are they actually capacitive or did I understand incorrectly?
This definitely feels like a better version hardware wise BUT a lot of people (myself included) won't be interested to have a slightly better version than the headset we already bought 2 years ago. I would much rather stick with it and get a much better version down the line.
if someone was buying either the quest 2 or pico 4 as their first vr headset which would you suggest
@@jsh2246 Does this hypothetical person have a gaming PC to play SteamVR games with?

I use the Quest 1 with Vive Deluxe Audio Strap and original Oculus account which expires in 2023. Using it only for PCVR with VDesktop and the Pico looks like the perfect upgrade! I also packed a thick power bank at the back of the Quest 1, so decent weight, carrying more than 45min in one sesh is hardly possible. Too bad that I have to buy Virtual Desktop again, but hey, if it really works even better then I'll gladly pay 20euro for it! Headset is already ordered on Amazon. Nice to have month to test extensively, if I should decide to send it back, I'm already curious!
Hey, I also have the same situation because I bought the quest 1 right before the quest 2 released, and mainly only use it for pcvr. I'm already sold on the PICO 4, but tell me how it goes!
How it has been so far?
Biggest killer for the Pico for me is no Headphone jack for audio passthrough (I've used bluetooth with other headsets, latency on beatsaber audio makes it bad). Also from others I've talked too, the Pico 4 has some light bleed issues around the edges. Otherwise the headset looks Incredible. I was considering picking one up and selling my quest, but where it's not available in the US yet anyway, I'll hold off, and wait to see what else comes out in the near future.
pico 4 on pre order after the quest pro reveal. Cant wait for better lens and far superior comfort. Sold my Quest 2 after the price increase.
fair video.. I guess it's not really worth it to upgrade, but if you are looking to buy one and don't have a quest 2, maybe pico is the way to go.. especially if you're using your PC cause then can't you just play any Oculus games anyway?

Nice review! How inferior is the controller tracking on Pico 4? Very noticeable?
Not much, but I had to mention it
@@Tyrielwood ok thank you very much
I've been using my quest 2 daily, usually until the batteries are done, for close to two years now. It's held up extremely well, but over AirLink I can get about 80 minutes of playtime before its done. Was really hoping the Pico would have more robust batteries. Yes, I got myself a 10k mah battery bank and have it attached to the quest, but I can't imagine that's good for the quests battery and its hella inefficient.
Hi everybody, would you suggest for PCVR Pico 4 or Quest 2? I don't play standalone games on VR.
I currently own the Rift S although the quality of the lenses and resolution isn't satisfying me anymore.
I would go for the Index or Quest Pro although I don't want to spend 1K as i will be gaming in weekends.
Get older and due to full time job don't want to commit too many money on something I won't be using very often.
Thanks in advance for any advice 😊
Have the Q2, ordered the Pico 4. Will see if it's a good hold over for PCVR waiting for the Q3.
Tracking is extremely important! That's why the HP reverb series didn't break the market as a PCVR headset.
Is your version Chinese version or global one? If it is chinese version, when you changed the language, did you have any problem with language in other apps?
which camera are you using to record?
Are those colors on pico 4 really that faded compared to quest 2? There is a huge difference in that formula one comparison.

It confort my choice for the pico 4 even if i ca found quest 2 at 200€ in occasion market
after that i dnont think its a good comparaision too maybe compare the comparasion between pico 4 and quest 3 will be more acurate especialy for the confort
I choose the pico to play PC VR in replacement of my HTC Vive first édition that i use for years
I have an other question that iis not in the comparasion, the batteries of the controler it look like pico and quest have both exchangable normals batteries How easy is it to change it?
I have a question, is the pico 4 made by quest? Because I don’t want all of my games to just go to waste
The question i have is simple Which has the best lenses and fov and which one immerses you in the content more.
I'm amazed on how ppl got absolutely turned off by facebook acquiring oculus, but are ok in buying a headset owned by tiktok parent company.
Need Advice here,, I'm planning to buy a vr headset to replace my broken Rift S, I only use it for PC VR like sim racing, which one should I choose Quest 2 or Pico 4 only for PC VR
Same dilemma here. I am leaning towards pico 4. But the obvious choice is quest 2 as i hear it has the best software and also has official link cable to connect to a pc. Pico 4 doesnt have such link cable.
Or we could go with hp reverb g2. But tracking and controllers are worse than shit. I just cant decide man.

@@idontknowman3344 ok bro, let me know later
I wonder how the pico 4 compares to Reverb G2 also in performance because of the streaming vs display port.
The question I have is how long can you play on them.
I'm play on PC's which means that the googles are linked to the PC and the game can run 2 hours or more, it's not uncommon to spend 5-15 minutes just setting up and going through the pre-flight before you even get into the air, followed by 15-45 minutes (100-300 miles) to the target, 5-10 minutes of combat then 15-45 minutes back.
I am hoping a headset that is two years newer than the Q2 would have better specs. If you are in the market to upgrade, I would just wait until Quest 3 comes out.
Excellent comparison
Well, I already sold my left kidney for a Pico 4 so now I guess I'm committed.
For me the Pico just wins because of the IPD Adjustment up to 72mm. I'm still with my Quest 1 because it just hits 72mm - the Quest 2 doesn't and the picture looked blurry. So let's wait for it to arrive and see if the Pico 4 will be my new main headset.
I would like something more in depth about PCVR
Thats my only goal when buying a VR headset, and all you did was mention it a little bit.
I had heard that the pico would have direct displayport to plug on the PC, so it doesn't have to relly on streaming (wich even on USB is not perfect)
Nice breakdown, but the way I see it, this really a win to Meta. The Quest 2 with its older hardware has been able to keep up in what I think is an important area, that's software and developer support. The Pico doesn't use a new processor, but makes sense as it would keep their hardware price down and can match Quest 2 for existing compatibility and easy porting. But at the end of the day Quest 2 is an aging device, the failure for Meta would be if they released a newer device in the next year or so and not exceed Pico on all aspects of the hardware. Hands down Meta have the developer talent on their side, and to me that means a lot when you're investing in hardware to be functional for years down the line. If you like to replace hardware often and try new things, sure try a Pico.
The Q3 does not exceed pico in all aspects unfortunately..
@@vrglcomhow do you know that?
@@vrglcom Well, now we know, the Quest 3 does exceed the Pico 4 in all aspects. The GPU is more than twice as fast. Screen density is higher. Way better pass through. The software and game library has always been better, also for PCVR. The lenses have always had less screen door effect and been clearer.
Soooo, I currently use a Quest 2, having upgraded from a Q1 when the Q2 came out. I pretty much exclusively use it for PC Flight Sims in a simpit, MSFS, DCS, War Thunder, etc. My IPD is 71, so the Q2 always seems a hair off in the sweet spot. Lens size and clarity looks great. Seems like this hits all my requirements, BUT how is the transfer/Bitrate from the PC? The compression? I wish it had a direct display port, this USB connection for PC's seems to always suck! :(
It's a complete gamble that UA-camrs like this fail to mention.
So many things unknown about this device. Until it's in the hands of millions of consumers.
what game is the one played in thr battery life segment? the storm trooper?
so pico 4 will have trouble of support for pcvr games? im htc vive pcvr user, but i hate the cable n stuff, so look forward to pico4 now...
As a VR enthusiast who currently owns Quest 1 and 2, and Pico 2 4K, if this is your first time buying a VR headset, I would recommend Pico 4 for strictly for comfort and clarity. If you already have Quest 2, or even Quest 1, however, I would not recommend making upgrade to the Pico 4. I would just wait for the Quest 3 next year, or perhaps, PlayStation VR 2.
My first Vr is quest 2, and I just bought, so I believe that I will wait :D
Who says the Pico is even an upgrade?
Hi i want to ask if anyone has any problems connecting the pico 4 to steam wirelessly, i downloaded the pico software on steam and also steamvr, but it does not detect my vr headset
Unity now has an OpenXR profile for pico. So they can now work better with pico link
I have also a really nice modded quest 2 everything works fine. The changes are too minor for an upgrade. 2.3 or 2.5k resolution would be great or at least display port. But I really like the competition and would I habe a Quest one or no headset I would definitely go with the pico 4
When you look through those pancake (aspheric) lenses, you'll quickly see why. Right now the only other consumer headset with aspheric lenses, is the £2000 Varjo Aero. "If' the Quest 3 has them + some other extras, you won't be able to buy it for anything like £379 GBP. Of that I'm certain. Having looked through aspheric lenses, I can tell you, these UA-camrs can't do justice to the experience by telling you. You have to see it.
@@flybers would you recommend the PICO 4 over the quest 2? I have a pc so I don't care about anything stand alone
@@npn3pxk727 In that case, definitely.
Will i be able to play quest exclusives like beatsaber through steam and virtual desktop on pico 4?
Yep!
Does anyone know how much processor power is the pico 4 using since the quest 2 is capped at 50%
can you please rate quest 2 when it new out f box with no updates no new games etc with Pico 4 ?
My biggest question is if the Pico lens are better to read small text in peripheral areas. I'm a programmer and I would love to code using immersed but that's impossible on Quest 2 unless I keep moving my head to center the text.
Yes P4 has better clarity edge to edge, I'm also looking forward to use Immersed on it.
use pico 4.
can you play oculus quest games with pico? and if yes then how?
Sold my quest 2 about 2 weeks ago & pre ordered the pico 4 immediately !! No brainer folks
Idk about it being a no brainer. In his review the pico 4 only won by a single point. Meta has a ton of exclusive games and their software is better. Also quest 3 could be just around the corner. As much as I want the lighter more comfortable pico 4...software/content matters much more.
Better clarity and lighter ! Only one winner for me,the games will come it will take time as its just new out
Thanks for the comparison! I've been on the fence since the Pico announcement and you've helped me decide to hold out for quest 3. I really like the quest software and tracking, and don't think I'd want to downgrade either. Still so hyped for pancake though, argh being patient sucks ;D.
I must say he is the first one who struggle with the tracking on the Pico 4, so far I only heard it is on paar with the Quest 2 and when you hold one controller behind the other it is even better (the other tracking "ring" makes the different).
What is the screen door effect like on the Pico?
Which one should i get ?
pico 4 if you dont have vr still but if you do wait for oculus quest 3
and having glasses which is better?
You can purchase a 2 in 1 usb c to usb c and 3.5 mm headphone adapter. Amazon £16.99. That means you can plug headphones and a spare battery pack into the pico 4.
What do you think about Google offering a vr store?
Today I received my Pico 4, but so far it's a huge disappointment...
The most annoying bug is regarding head tracking: if I shake my head quickly, the screen content shakes with my head, it doesn't stay in one place like on the Quest 2. It seems that the Pico 4's head tracking can't keep up with quick movements. Could you please test it for me? Just shake your head quickly left-right, like you were nodding "NO", and the screen will also shake like an earthquake. Then try it with the Quest 2 - the screen stays in place.
Here is the complete list of my disappointments:
- the face cushion is really hard and stiff, and hurts my head (it also left an ugly mark)
- the face cushion lets in light on the sides (it doesn't follow the shape of my head)
- if I attach the extra rubber piece around the nose, the lenses get humid quickly
- during the initial setup there was no head tracking until I set up the boundary
- head tracking gets lost during quick head movements
- wireless PCVR streaming had a decent audio delay (also with Virtual Desktop) - maybe I could correct the delay somehow, I'm not sure yet
- the color pass-through is very bad, objects are distorted, some tall objects appear as they were flat on the floor
Here is a video of the shaking head bug of the Pico 4: ua-cam.com/users/shortsjWEsAROhJXs
Thanks for an honest consumer review. More believable than UA-camrs..
Have they added vr chat on the pico yet if it doesn’t get vrc I’m not gonna get the pico
Do you need a pc for the pico 4?
nope
You didn’t have pass through as a category. I think that is an important one and a point to pico! Piano vision etc will be great on pico.
or to the quest, 'cos pico's is only 2D
Where the hell can you even buy this at the u.s? This is still an issue and the quest 2 the to go to budget vr headset over here.
