How does Microdermabrasion Affect your Skin? | Before & After and Explanations!

  • Microdermabrasion and microdermabrasion facials are one of if not the best thing you can do for your skin. Chemical peels and other invasive/non-natural means of removing skin can do the same thing but leave nasty scars and unwanted side effects.
Microdermabrasion is something that has been around for years, but recently has become more popular with the advent of "microdermabrasion creams" and "dermabrasion products" for use at home or in the shower. Make no mistake when you read or buy these things, they are not microdermabrasion. What they are is essentially just a finely ground exfoliant renamed to hit the buzzword of the day. Microdermabrasion is a process that removes a few layers of the skin, or the callous layer, to bring up healthy and fresh skin hiding beneath the surface. This is a healthy, beneficial, and most of all, natural way of getting to the healthy skin on your face.
It's something that many people know of, but not many people take advantage of. Why this happens, we'll never know. If you're all in on skin care and you're already buying microderm creams, washes, and products anyway, why not go the extra step and actually get the process performed on your skin! Just like you go to the gym to work on your body, you should be going to a facialist to take care of your skin.

Good day Lisa 👋 I am new to your Channel. I really like how you explain everything so simple and straight to the point. I am 52 and a week ago I had my first ever microdermabrasion and I like it. So my question is: How many sessions does it take to see truly visible results? I actually have decent skin but you're right, we cause damage to our skin at early age and I know I used to love getting tanned when going to the beach. I don't have big sun damage but I can see few sports. Also I have a tired look because I don't sleep all that well, I dream alot and that doesn't help. So does micro help with this issue too? Thank you and much appreciation from Panamá 🤗

      Panama!! Wow!
Yes micro dermabrasion will help to get rid of the old tissue that is damaged and bring up healthy new tissue. I recommend clients do Microdermabrasion and a facial ( should be included together) monthly. If everything is done properly, you should see results instantly!! Be sure to always wear a wide brimmed hat outside!!
      Did I answer everything?

Hi Lisa. I loved this video and your skin is gorgeous! I have a question. Are use Retin-A at the .05% strength. I have been told that I cannot get micro dermabrasions. Is that correct? By the way, I think if you hit the heart and then write your reply I will receive that by email. Not sure about that but I always hit the heart when I respond in my comments as somehow I think this hitting the heart notifies people better.

Retin -A thins the skin and believe it or not it isn’t the best form of vitmain A for your skin. There are just to many side effects and issues that can occur. In the 80s and 90s It was very popular but so
Many studies have been done in recent years regarding retinol ( more natural) Vs Retin A ( synthetic). Retinol in a buffered form of vitamin A that is non synthetic, not pharmaceutical, so not a chemical. This is the best way to give your skin vitamin A. It’s gentler to the skin and the skin drinks it in to its deepest layers causing change and collagen to form. Also Repairing the fibers the skin needs to stay young. Your doctor might not Agee because many doctors are intimidated by esthetician’s, because we can heal the skin and care for it naturally. We can’t just give you a pill or something invasive. Doctors we work with love medicine and holistic🙌🏻
I’m all about changing the skin naturally, and we do it everyday. I feel strongly that many of the things men and women do to their skin or take in internally harm us. We know things get in our bloodstream.
As far as doing dermabrasion with Retin A, I would do it on you but I would need to see your skin. So with that said, find a master esthetician and have him or her see the condition of your skin. When dermabrasion is done correctly it’s non invasive and amazing for the skin!
As I said in the last comment I would love to send you some skin care? Night serum is our retinol. Although I don’t believe in foundation 😉I think we could find a happy medium😊
Have an amazing day!! Love we have connected.
I’m in Southern California by the way.

Thank you Lisa for the video. This video was extremely helpful. How I wish if I could get the microdermabrasion from you. Recently, I bought a chemical peel product from Amazon. I had absolutely no idea what that means when I bought it. I really thought it could be a serum/ cream just like any other skincare product. After applying it, I got a reaction on my skin. My cheek almost got burned and left a big dark scar/ hyperpigmentation on my face. I am wondering if you could suggest any product or treatment for that. Thanks in advance!

I assume you were doing an at home machine? I would never recommend that and I suggest you be very, very careful. The bacteria infections and fungal infections I see are numerous when people do these at home machines.
The reason many aestheticians don’t use crystals is because it is very expensive. Using a tip is dangerous plain and simple. Our machines are from the gentleman who created micro dermabrasion over 30 years ago he has the patent.

    • @PeachesSkinCare
      @PeachesSkinCare  3 роки тому +1

      Tommy,
Yes. However it absolutely matters who is doing the service, and that the microdermabrasion is done with crystals. NOT the new files that are being used be because they are cheap. Also that when the esthetician does the micro dermabrasion she includes a full facial. Cleaning, masking, nurturing the skin. Many times people have not taken care of their skin properly for years and so the callous layer and the damage is deep. Being consistent for a good amount of time can be key to getting your skin in shape.
Hope this answers the why. 🙌🏻🍑Lisa

Also, I've been using milk of mag at night and my face feels really dry and tight after too long... do you put on a moisturizer and let it sink in before applying the milk of mag?
