If you're no good WITHOUT a pocket, you're no good WITH a pocket ...
Amen to that
"Please Mr. Stark I'm nothing without the Mercy pocket"
"If you're nothing without the Mercy pocket then you shouldn't have it"
“WITHOUT MY MERCY POCKET I AM NOTHING 😔😔”
The only time you should force it is when the DPS they are facing is also pocketed, If they can't win without a pocket against a pocket, that's simply losing a 2v1, which is understandable
_The only time you should force it is when the DPS they are facing is also pocketed, If they can't win without a pocket against a pocket, that's simply losing a 2v1, which is_ _understandable_
Indeed, but pocketing can take another form as well. There was a game on Circuit Royale where this here player tanked and we were running a torbjörn, with the opposing team running a pharmercy.
This was not looking good at all. So this here player switched to Winston, and hoped that our torb didn't place his turret on some horrible spot.
He didn't. The turret was on the payload, and the payload was a few meters beyond first point near the second hairpin turn.
This here player reported himself to that payload and waited for the pharmercy to come. When the pharmercy was sighted, this here player immediately dropped a shield on the turret, and dived to the first hairpin at first point, and tried to keep the opposing team busy by holding the corner.
While their Phara was doing shield-break, she got the undivided attention of our Ana, with the torb helping this here player at the first point. At first the team did not understand what this here player was doing, but when they did, it became great fun. The tactic was repeated quite a few times.
In the end that game was won, and quite a few endorsements were received. To this day this here player regrets never recording that game and posting it on his channel.
In another game on Shamballa, one of the most poignant things this here player ever saw, was a Mei gunning in a straight line towards a shielded torb turret, only to get mown down. This here player was playing a Winston there as well.
Sincerely yours.
Null.

Remember, chat. In order to get a mercy pocket, you must court them. Use anything in your arsenal. Displays of power. Fashion sense. Alluring voice lines. Witty usernames. Dank memes. You must attract the mercy by being irresistible
I’m an ashe main and my name is literally mercyegirl with cute dances and voice lines equipped I make sure to always acquire the pocket
i had dps spraying hearts and emoting me to get a pocket lmfao (ngl, most of the time it did convince me into boosting them). i also don't expect dps to hit shots perfectly because i find that role hard to play anyway. i just want them to be appreciative of the pocket.
as a mercy main, this is true
i mean i just pocket whoever is best for me too pocket. Just like im not gonna be petty and stop healing someone whos rude, im also not going to give special attention just because you were nice. Like it doesnt matter how nice you wanna be to me on reaper or tracer, I am just gonna die if I try to pocket you and im better off sticking with a Cassidy or whatever.

A little blue beam, as a treat
Stands in front of the enemy team and wastes resources: "We lost because of our Mercy!"
The refusal to take high ground is driving me crazy 😭
Right
It's because they're compensating for bad aim. You can't miss if the total amount of distance between you and your target is less than a foot.
@@akkikoand yet they sill miss lolll
You want the Mercy to LOOK in your direction? Wait for them outside of spawn so they can fly back into the fight faster
You're welcome.
Yes, oh my gosh, as a mercy main, the players who actually realize that I exist by watching for my pings, keeping people from picking me off, and not abandoning me, make me want to worship them.
or just be nice :)
@ShashouXue Most times I am pretty nice to any of my support. But I've seen Mercy's stick by me a lot when I'm able to run back to spawn and pick them up. The sooner they can get back in the fight the better chances we may have. Same goes with Kiri. If I see Kiri is at spawn and teleporting distance I stand close enough for them to teleport and instantly get back in
In fact, during the games I am the other support and I do this to help whoever is playing as mercy, precisely bc I understand how important it is 😭
thats also just how you play with mercy
Man, I forget just how allergic to high ground bronze is 😂
Rly just metal ranks in general except maybe high Plat
@@Alex_Aramayo nah they may not utilize it ideally in silver but they at least aren’t allergic to it from what I’ve seen. My dps is only high gold so 🤷♂️
@assimilater-quicktips from my experience its pretty rare when my whole team takes high ground especially for Defense,(Gold console) I literally stopped holding it as Dps bc im isolated, Im a support main so its painfully noticeable when my supports don't know how to support high ground or an offangle etc
@@Alex_Aramayo well that’s what I mean by “utilize it ideally”. It’s rare for whole teams to be on the same page about anything ever in my games which go up to mid Diamond.
lmao I have a friend like this. They are bronze dps player and I'm supp plat/diamond. Playing QP with them is awful because they take it WAY too seriously. I've been yelled at for pulling them on high ground to shoot. They will actively jump down to snipe from the ground instead. Complains when I make call outs, about not getting healed etc. They watch high rank content and talk about it a lot but don't try to execute it. Told me the other day they get angry at me and have to control themselves from being toxic to me because I have an "ego" and am too good at the game. I'm literally just playing how you're supposed to. Wish I never showed them the game tbh.
Time to stop playing the game with that friend then. Plat/diamond is very middle of the road and a fairly easily achievable rank. If your bronze friend can’t even take advice from you as a plat/diamond player I’m afraid they’re long gone
yeah no dude you just need to stop playing w/ them. like, are you even enjoying playing with them? because it REALLY doesn't sound like you are
Sounds like you're trying to get blood out of a rock and either you stop playing with them or you play the game as dumb as possible and never win
@@yalldveyaint4647 It's rough to avoid because it's a group of friends who casually play QP together so I'm probably going to have to eventually. I'm the highest rank in our group too and no one else has a problem with me. ah, they're playing Ashe. yeah, they're just throwing a tantrum because they didn't get an exclusive pocket. I'm calling it right now -- the Mercy stopped damage boosting them because they weren't getting anything done and decided to invest resources in a teammate who was doing something. OR they never damage boosted them in the first place because they recognized that widow had good positioning and ashe had bad positioning
As an Ashe player, I definitely throw a tantrum when mercy stops pocketing me 😛 (I just do it off mic, out of chat, in other words to myself)

Positioning is so important in this game. Like most players, totally unaware of their surroundings and never check flanks.
A minute and a half in and it looks like some Goldeneye N64 gameplay.
It looks like goldeneye N64 gameplay from someone who has never played goldeneye N64
thats an insult to goldeneye 64
I’m a gold dps. My aim is terrible. But I’ve literally climbed by keeping 3 things in mind.
Always take high ground in team fights
Try to play around health packs to limit the stress on my supports
And shoot try to kill the enemy supports first
I’m only gold, but with those things, even if I’m not hitting my shots, it helps the team win in most situations.
It is absolutely hilarious when people play like this, yet they have the AUDACITY to blame their teammates. Refuses to take high ground, gets in the enemy's face AS A SNIPER... and this was Mercy's fault??? 😂😂😂
The ashe is trash, but it would definitely help if that person wasnt playing mercy and weighing the team down by playing an already trash character that depends on dps doing the bare minimum. But as always, mercy’s are one tricks and are too much of a pussy to switch on to any other character
@Megggazap I'm a Mercy player, and I can assure you, your baseless comment of Mercy players are one tricks is utter, utter bollocks. I play Lucio, Moira, Kiriko and Illari as well. I'd consider myself a flex player, in fact cos I play most tanks and dps. I'm definitely not a pussy 😂
@@aquilanusUKcongratulations, you are an anomaly. However that doesn’t make their Statement any less true just because it doesn’t apply to yoy
@israelsmith6122 show me the evidence then. You can't say something is true without it. Otherwise it's your opinion. And your opinion only.
I'm going to chime in on this conversation and say that, as a Support main, I am a Baptiste/Mercy main myself. It is absolutely baseless to say that all Mercy players/mains are one-tricks (look at Somnus or Eskay as examples, too).
That said, again, we can have this argument all day about whether or not they should have switched. The bottom line is that they were a more valuable player this match than the Hanzo/Ashe.
EDIT: Can we end this pointless argument and go back to agreeing that this Ashe/Hanzo belongs in Bronze?
Good thing this mythic makes blaster sounds, because Ashe is aiming like a Stormtrooper.
22:29 Been there. This one time, I was playing a 1k damage game, just goofing off jumping around sleeping people as Ana, and a Widowmaker shot a venom mine nearby and I went to shoot it. I missed twice and the Widow stopped attacking me to watch me miss 5 shots in a row on the venom mine. I just stopped shooting at it and jumped off the edge at that point. It was hilarious
I'll say one thing about "high ground positioning" in bronze beyond just having trouble aiming. When you're up there, you're only really safe from Reinhardt. And in bronze, when you're ALONE up there, you're the first thing the enemy sees and often everybody and their dog will start shooting at you. And the supports are often low ground too, so you're "out of position" for heals.
Just saying, the bronze experience sometimes requires flexibility seeing as a SURPRISING number of bronzes can actually aim pretty good, and doing the "right" thing can ironically get you killed, at least until you climb to silver or higher. It's a weird place.
Same thing in gold actually. I'm generally high plat/low diamond, but once in a while i'll get on a really bad losing streak and drop to gold, and literally nothing makes sense to me. They tell me I'm bad and whatever and I'm just sitting there like.... "but YOU were out of position, not me!" but because they play differently, my technically "right" positioning becomes wrong. It's really confusing.
@@pennywenny01 My experience exactly. I've only climbed to high gold so far myself, but my friend was high diamond before getting sick of the grind and settled into a "casual" plat, especially as many of his friends are sub gold scrubs like me! But it's just like you said, I know he's good, his ranking is right there, and I've seen him play in plat-diamond lobby's, he's a menace. But I've also seen him get absolutely rolled in silver lobby's, or times I played with him in QP when I was still bronze and I was like "dude what are you doing?" I know he's doing the "right" thing, but it doesn't always translate.
‘High ground positioning’ doesn’t mean ‘I have the high ground now so I’m suddenly superglued to it’.
If the enemy team start pressuring you, they are using cooldowns and focusing attention on you. Thats cooldown and focus that’s not directed to your team. That’s a resource you can exploit if you then adjust your positioning to make a little distance AND THEN return to the high ground once they’re dead or forced away.
You also need to learn how to play around cover, around health packs, in places you can plan an escape route.
@@seaottar25 Sure, as noted I was talking about the "bronze experience" though. I'm now gold and most everyone makes at least descent use of high grounds/cover/etc. And of course "good" high ground use had value in bronze, but it added to the learning curve if you spent time/cooldowns getting up there, only to get immediately chased off or risk near instant death before you managed to learn what "good" high ground usage was. That was my point I was trying to make.
@@DarthSpock1 I understand it is hard to even get onto high ground when inexperienced with the game but you don’t tell a child to continue crawling just because it’s easier than falling over learning to walk.
There is no better way to improve than getting whooped and learning from it. Taking high ground is sound advice, trying and failing at a new skill/concept does not lengthen the learning curve, rather it gives you better insight on why certain actions are rewarding and others are punishing. Building that gamesense and independent mindset / trial & error approach is insanely beneficial for going up the ranks in the future.

Emongg is WAAAY too nice. “Your positioning is just a little bit off sometimes!” I’ve seen people flamed in any metal rank for far less than the positioning mistakes this Ashe makes.
Is this the Overwatch equivalent to a flat-earther? I think the player thinks the map is flat...
Man this Ashe need to watch Revenge of The Sith. Maybe then they'll know how important high ground is
I have gold players try to flame me cuz my numbers arnt crazy high but they like to run dva into Zar and don’t change till there’s 30 sec left
Dva can totally work vs Zar obviously not ideal but the biggest problem I see is people with NO idea how Zarya works and just missile the fuck out of bubble and then get rolled. When she doesn’t have her laser at a high dmg and if people actually don’t shoot her bubble dva can definitely out damage once her cooldowns are up, OR people who just go for Zar when their back line is sitting right there defenseless. Sometimes shooting bubble happens but anytime I play tank if I’m DVA and they swap Zarya I just try to be really annoying and avoid her and dive her team constantly so she can’t dive mine
I don't know man, going double snipers where one is diving right into the enemy team each fight sounds like a formula for an easy victory. If only that darn mercy wasn't pocketing the safer playing dps😠
Basically they couldn’t land their shots unless they were right up to the target so they were playing flat on the floor and then blaming the pocket that they were dying lmao typical. Mercy mains always gravitate to whoever is killing the most, if they are ignoring you, you should get the message that you aren’t playing well.
As a switch player, I prefer using the handheld because having it on a smaller screen just helps more than having a big screen takes up a wide area of sight. Also did you know you can play overwatch like splatoon? There are options for gyro controls and it's so goofy
YOOOO SAME LOL. I, too, use motion controls due to splatoon and it drives my friends insane, it's awesome. I'm always the last person to choose a character tho (because the loading times are silly). Can't believe I found one of the remaining 10 gamers who play ow on switch, my condolences
Same here! I rely on gyro so much, I struggle to adapt to PS4 sometimes with only the sticks. I got POTG while playing with my friend (he plays ps5 and pc) and he always mentions how wobbly and shaky the camera is in my gameplay due to the gyro but I hardly notice it haha
As a mercy main I’ll pocket you if
1. You’re getting most of the kills.
2. Your positioning is good.
3. You play a character that has the most mobility so I can use you to get around.
As support in bronze 2 (I also suck so I deserve it), my Hanzos and all the ranged DPS are ALWAYS on the ground behind tank 😂 some widows know positioning. A high amount of bronze soldiers also know to go high ground. Reaper and genji I know will flank and get insta killed. I realized all these mistakes playing support, then I started playing Sojourn always taking high ground and doing way better than my bronze DPS. Not sure whether to continue support or DPS now. I’m still a pretty shitty Sojourn just have pretty ok survivability, maybe aim or not knowing who to kill, not sure. Whenever I get a soldier taking high ground in my bronze game, I just pocket them and pray to god that will be enough. We ALWAYS win hahah.
i'm a bronze 3 soldier and the only reason I go on highground so much is because I have to make up for a lit of shitty aiming lmfao
Once you climb more to Gold/Plat, Tanks become an issue. They usually go in alone, and then cry "dps???".
I'm in the middle of Plat 5, using Soldier 76/Sojourn/Cassidy as my mains.
But, you have to adapt against the enemy team to even win games. Bad positioning will throw a game completely.
Unfortunately, there's teammates that don't adapt and run in by themselves. Not saying that I'm perfect, but damn are people unaware who counters who.
i'm getting anxiety from him not using the sonic arrow at all ever
In the words of the great Tony Stark, "If you're nothing without the pocket, then you shouldn't have it."
Both their supports seem pretty good, the Mercy had the right instincts for who to pocket and the Kiriko cleansed every Junker Queen ult
I like how someone in ur chat said you don’t have to play to be good, just play to have fun… even tho the point of these videos is for people to ask how to improve and increase their win rates 😃🙏🏼
I don't like that point of view tbh. If someone wants to play for fun, play QP. Most people in comp are playing to improve and see the funny number go up (hopefully lol).
@@ShadowOfEntropy exactly! If you play to have fun then there’s game modes like qp, arcade, and and custom. But people like to actually play serious during comp games considering comp depends on how good of a player you are. If you’re playing to slack off then it’s pretty much just pointless to call it comp anymore lol
Did anyone else notice what the player was saying in chat? "No high ground in sight" when they were literally STANDING UNDERNEATH THE BRIDGE as Hanzo. Who can wall climb. 12:28
As a mercy I make decisions based off of KDR; if one of the dps is doing really bad I’m going to switch to primarily taking care of the dps that’s putting in work and the tank

Honestly, the supports played pretty ok. The Kiri died a lot, but she used cleanse at least, they'll probably both climb.
The tank was also just kinda standing in the middle not doing anything.
Fun to watch a switch vod too, I tried it a long time ago in handheld, it's not actually that bad minus the graphical downgrade.
does emongg review high elo gameplays too or just whatever was selected to submit?
As a Mercy main, I can confirm the Mercy always gets the blame when we lose xD No matter how much I heal, no matter how much I dmg boost! I get the blame!
I play this game with my BF who is an Ashe main, we are both in Plat ( around plat 3-2 ) I know he can hit his shots so I am often with him, But I make sure my whole team gets healed! cuz it is a team game! but always in the end, It is my fault for 'pocketing' the Ashe =_=
Being an healer in OW is rough!
Editor do the intro as ''ALLL-SO! Right''
If they dont like or want to play from a distance then maybe consider switching to dive like heros or heros that go in close to fight more like reaper, mei, and geni
Perhaps another reason this dps is habitually in the enemy team’s faces is for the aim assist. The aim assist helps more when you’re a short to medium distance away, the effect isn’t at noticeable if you’re a bit further
sir these are the people we be losing to.. men i hate my isp
I also noticed that he seemed very hesitant to use his cooldowns. You get storm arrow back in 8 seconds. Not using it for 20 or 30 is just a waste.
Use the terrain as your shield, it has infinite health. The enemy team will move on you, the more open space between you and the next 'shield',the earlier you need to start moving.
Only you can protect you from getting one shotted.
I have too many hours in Arma 3. I have very deep rooted issues with the high ground.
Watching them play Hanzo is so painful
Whenever I play Hanzo and start missing all my shots I always shoot the sonic arrow for my team lmao but they need to fully charge their arrows at a base level
and thats fine honestly, a nice sonic provides information

it is so hard to climb in low elo as mercy. everybody is suicidal and they all love to away behind walls so i cant fly to them, then flame me for not healing. line of sight bronzies.... line of sight
Please can someone tell me what is he saying about pink mercy ?
The fact he was in chat making some excuses for his playing like do you want his advice or not my man????
Brains of people playing OW work different after some time because I could never understand how getting dmg boost would translate into hitting more shots and getting elims. Unless it's a defense mechanism to not admit to being salty that mercy picked the right person to pocket. I have a lot hours on mercy and the longer you play her the quicker you notice who is worthy of the blue beam. And playing her is basically 1/3 just watching everything and everybody so as mercy you just KNOW. Btw there are quite a few cassidys I run into that are oblivious to their own bad positioning or that medkits exist and always blame supports. It's like I'm running into clones sometimes. Before every fight I make bet that they will take huge unnecessery dmg or get eliminated first and I win that bet every time. It just makes me laugh so hard that it's ALWAYS cass.
it kind of does sometimes translate pretty directly, they can take a more aggressive position with better angles if they can rely on getting healed instantly, and the better breakpoints dmg boost gives help a lot in duels. You're right tho, usually you can just tell when they wont do jack shit
She may be hard to play but I recommend picking up Tracer in scenarios like this. This makes it so that Mercy and your other healer doesn't have to worry about healing you because how self-sustaining Tracer is as she should be prioritizing health packs.
But yeah watching this gameplay, you need to position more safely. A lot of times I see this player positioning like they're frontlining. I say play into your other supports los and use like high grounds as Emongg emphasizes a lot.
Anyone cant type in the discord?? Trying to submit a replay and cant😭
Does switch OW not have gyroscope support? Watching a switch player not use their only built-in advantage over other consoles is killing me
If you are in bronze you have no reason to blame anybody but yourself
How do Bronze players actually...Improve? Like unless you're a literal child, it should be common sense to use high ground/find a good position to shoot from as a sniper. Like even if you've never played a FPS, sniper positioning should literally be the easiest thing to figure out. Maybe I'm being harsh?
From my experience:
- learn positioning. Luckily I was used to looking at replays (fighting game background) and in like 70% of cases, I died early because I unintentionally fed. Positioning alone can be the biggest climbing aid
- actually learn the characters and explore the maps
- understand the basics of value. in bronze this is mainly just learning when a team fight isn't worth dying over and learning what can increase your value (ult charge, passives, and not feeding)
- start learning how to use high ground. This will help but bronze isn't' big on high ground and being the only person on high ground can really limit your LOS so it's a case by case thing.
To be clear, high-ground isn't common sense and it takes getting used to . OW was my first FPS and OW2 was the first one I took seriously. I couldn't tell you what sniper positioning was. I have never met a sniper. it just makes way more intuitive sense to get to the fight faster and position in a place where it's easier to hit the opponent (when they take up more of your screen real estate). High ground requires better aim and takes longer to get to. not intuitive but necessary to learn at some point. don't know how a baby would know about high-ground but maybe I missed that lesson at daycare...
They have the smoothest of brains.
1:10 am surprised u didn't say anything about his positioning maybe cuz he's still low tier?
you know i have never played ranked but when i see games like these i am pretty certain i am not a bronze player, if i were to play ranked, not sure which but def not bronze.
idk how qp hidden mmr works but i have encountered some notable streamers before in qp, like fareeha for example... idk if that's just random chance or not.... kinda confuses me... and im 100% certain it was them btw lol.
(before anyone asked, my team got fkin rolled by her's )
if you cant aim good on high ground go to qp and practice there. over time you will start hitting shots and it will help you climb. practice makes perfect. imo if you play rank you want to climb and get better so do the things to get better.
as a mercy main what that mercy did was right... Now i dont endorse pocketing a widow BUT if the widow has alot better positioning then the other DPS uhh hell yeah imma be pocketing the widow. Also when Mercy rezzes you why the hell did you stay in the same position to where you died? you died there if you stay there you will die again. Move to another area move to the high ground.
i feel sorry for that mercy, playing support in bronze sounds like hell 😭
Playing mercy, let alone any support, in metal ranks IS hell. I used to be masters but after the rank reset I got put into plat. Fair enough, it’s better than bronze.
Playing support in comp, you can only be as good as your teammates. If they aren’t getting kills, are over aggressive/not aggressive enough, not following up on the space their tank makes/not making space or utilising their supports ults/pockets etc, you’re pretty much useless. You can support a bin bag as much as you want, but at the end of the day it’s still a bin bag 😭
Metal players, especially plat players, have insane egos. There have been plenty of times I’ve had to dps WHILE maintaining top heals, and I’ve out dpsed the dpses (I play mercy, Ana, moira, kiri and lifeweaver but typically play Ana in comp.) They don’t listen to comms or pings, don’t peel, refuse to swap if they’re hard countered and you WILL get blamed somehow for their faults.
I’ve had times as mercy where the dps on my team will say something like “0-5.” Bro, I’m mercy?? It’s not my job to get kills, it’s to make sure YOU get them, and you’re doing sweet fuck all despite my blue beam up your ass, literally what more do you want from me 😭
I nearly got out of plat by finding a group to play with before going solo and going on a major losing streak. I went from plat 1 to plat 5, and when I DO win, it’s only 20% progression. It only takes one loss to undo all of that. I have some bad games, sure-everyone does. But I know I’m a good support and I do everything in my power to keep my team going. I know rank doesn’t indicate how good you are, and the ow rank system is absolute balls at the best of times, but it sure is disheartening to see a rank that doesn’t reflect how you play.
@@talah6651 hope you climb out of plat soon :( it seems like the group was working great, maybe you should try just playing comp with them and never solo? for me, playing comp solo never goes well 😂
Is this person allergic to high ground?
If im playing on xbox will someone on switch possibly get in my game?
Yes
@@RedPandaReal damn
He has decent aiming for a bronze player but he needs to work a lot on his awareness/positioning in order to climb.
nintendo switch? I remember how miserable it was. Couldnt climb past diamonds 4. Even with my masters/gm game sense. Bought a ps5 for the frames and instantly got back where i belong.
Was it just me or he was aiming at their feet the entire time?
it seemed like the mercy was on them a lot so I don't understand the blame
