so basically the web apps are BETTER than the mobile apps so if you're on a chromebook u should use the web apps rather than the mobile apps?

Not necessarily. On the web application of Word, for example, you cannot insert shapes, equations, or text boxes--all of those things you can do on the mobile application of Word. However, Word Online has more advanced formatting options for bullets, numbered lists, etc. I haven't compared the other Office web applications to their mobile counterparts yet, though; just Word.

I installed from the Playstore the Word app but still have avery basic editing toolbar on my chromebook. How do i get a desktop type view or even a more detailed editing toolbar?

Hi Rachel. I take it you mean in regards to chromebook or android tablet? With those, the mobile apps are more basic versions of the desktop downloads, which are only available on Windows & Mac. We have a video covering Office on Chromebook on this channel!
The web apps are a great alternative as they have a lot more of the features you're used to seeing in the desktop versions.

@@MicrosoftExpertZoneUKI Hi, thanks for replying. Yes I meant I have Microsoft Word on my chromebooks. I guess that's why I'm having the limited view toolbar. Is there any way around it apart from having to buy a Windows or Apple computer? Or is there an app I can use on chromebook instead of Word?

Is the office downloaded to chrome a full office?

The Office apps for chrome may not be pre installed. You can download them from the play store, and they will be the mobile versions of the apps, specifically OneNote, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Hope that helps :)
