Thanks for looking at todays video. I found a couple of nice Tri-ang Hornby R.251 0-6-0 3F locos. In this video I see if I can get one out of long term storage and up and running on the Super 4 mainlines. Thanks for watching

Be careful with the wasp nest...

@@MrSnooze Lucky they didn't sting anything important then, eh?...lol...I tell people my mother told me if I fell over I should always to try and land on my head. That way I wouldn't damage anything useful...
The 3F tender locomotives in maroon look great on you railway, Transfer on the cab side was very delicate on those and seems to be very susceptible to damage. Very impressive wasps nest..

Cowardice is the better part of valour where bugs with stingers are concerned! I walked over a nest in the ground as a kid, they gave chase? & were inside my clothes! 8 stings! on top of 3 the week before! Another good informative Vid. Mr S🤤👏👏👍👍
That's far too many stings for my liking, I'm still observing the nest but I think it's safe to have a go at it now. All the best to you

Fantastic looking locomotive Mr Snooze, your not going to get much closer to brand new condition than that and it’s around 5 years older than me. It’s also good to see your not afraid to give it a run.
I was going to suggest a bit of cleaning fluid on a piece of paper for the pickups and you mention the method yourself.

The modern day Hornby Railroad boxes seem to echo these old Tri-ang/Hornby ones...

Such an attractive loco and to see it in as-new condition is a treat. Quite interesting to see the lovely packing and the pre-painted crew as well, a nice touch. The peeling decal made me nervous. I was thinking that a drop of Humbrol decal fix (or similar) on a fine paint brush to soften it would lay it flat again and revive the decal adhesive. Nice running session at the end. 😊

Quite a lot of the time yes, even more so if over oiled and it gets on the commutator. Best regards to you

I’ve noticed that you’ve got the south end of the hump yard connected back to the mainline. Is it operational now ?
There was a video some weeks ago showing a bit of hump shunting action, there is some functionality now and I'm hoping to sort the rest soon. Best regards to you
