You missed an important point, Arthur has a kid with a lady before Jack is born, he never leaves the gang but tried to take care of the boy. One day he finds the lady and his son murdered. This changed Arthur, made him meaner. Then Jack is born and john leaves, when John returns Arthur cannot forgive him, he is jealous John has his boy, and it angers him that he lost his. This is an important emotional piece of Arthur Morgan.

His son's name was Isaac and be was a good kid! Arthur cannot forgive John, not because of jealousy - it is because he abandoned his family, where Arthur has none. Arthur knows how it feels like to have lost his own family, that's why he is angry at John for abandoning his family.
Actually, Jack brings the Marston family legacy to great heights. In GTA V, you can see a book on the shelf in Franklin’s new house titled “The American Dream” by Jack Marston. Jack wrote about Arthur and John’s lives and explained their bravery throughout the years. A perfect ending to the Red Dead Redemption Series.

I really want a Red Dead Redemption 3 where you play as Dutch, rescuing and recruiting the members of the gang, and building Dutch's mystique and reputation. Ends with the Blackwater Ferry job.
It'd be interesting to see the old Dutch who lived the ideals he preached, and inspired such loyalty in those around him.
It’d be nice to see the kindhearted part of Dutch that we learned about, we barely saw glimpses of him 😂😂 it was always corrupted Dutch, in either game despite his “redemption” in RDR2 he went back and gaslit all those young natives

You forgot the most important part. Jack Marston presumably tells the stories of his family and his life to someone who then writes a book about it. The title of the book is Red Dead Redemption and it can be found as an Easter egg in GTA 5 Franklin's apartment on a bookshelf.
it's just an easter egg, i doubt it ties into the RDR story, since RDR and GTA V aren't in the same universe

I doubt they’ll do Jack Marston since that’s basically the end of the Wild West but I feel like they’re either going to start a new arc or continue on with the Van Der Linde gang by going back further and having Dutch as the protagonist recruiting all the gang members.
A Sadie/Charles team up type thing would be awesome. It wouldn't necessarily have to be years later, more like months later after they parted ways with John and before RDR.

@@erikallen3804 really shows the strength of Hosea. Imagine being what some would call elderly in the old west in one of the most infamous gangs. I remember this camp interaction where Bill is drunk and isn't doing anything, Hosea steps in and bosses him around in the most badass of ways.
@@erikallen3804 not seen as old. Only reason why live expectancy back then was about 47-50 years olds is due to how often a child would die at birth. If you made it past 2 years old there was still a good chance of hitting 65-70. Hitting 60 was not at all unheard of back thing and 20-29 is still a young person even back then

we NEED a prequel to rdr2. I've heard people wanting rdr3 to be about jack during a ww1 or prohibition era and I think thats a pretty cool idea to play as jack in a flashback to ww1 and maybe see him deserting but I think a prequel where you play as dutch or hosea about the early years of the gang leading up to the blackwater massacre would be better.

I really wouldn't mind a game about the native americans in the mid-late 19th century. Watching your tribe be betrayed and massacred by the Americans, losing hope year by year, day by day. Your way of life being forced out of existence, your culture being attacked and what else? you decide.

I kept the shire you steal after burning the tobacco fields and called her Guinevere. Cried like a baby when she dies at the end of the game. Cried again when Jack was talking about King Arthur and lady Guinevere in the epilogue. My little role play came full circle

Maybe this was intended, rockstar maybe implemented these small things (like Arthur’s coat) into the prequel to act as an analogy. Jack grew up around the gang and took an example of every single one of them: Arthur’s fashion sense, Dutch’s Wisdom, Hosea’s love of literature, John & Arthur’s shooting skill etc.

1914-1918 Jack Marston was drafted in 1917 to fight on the eastern front where he met a German private infantry named Adolf Schicklgruber.
I couldn’t help but feel for Dutch, it’s like his whole world crumbled around him. The man who he called his son slowly dying. His father figure dying in front of his eyes. I just could understand his pain, I never even viewed him as a villain until he was ready to leave Arthur and John for dead.

Now that we aren’t confused with which game goes first, play RDR2 first and then RDR1 so you can keep track of the story all in order
Depending on how the player plays the characters. I would think they're could be alternate timelines for Arthur and John too.
Like, one universe, Arthur was an asshole who got shot in the head at the top of the mountain, or an asshole who went for the money and got stabbed by Micah. Or a good guy who went for the money and died after his fight with Micah.
Or in one universe, John catches Javier but kills bill. Or in another universe he kills Javier but allows the Spanish guy to kill bill after Bill goes for a gun when he gets up off the ground.

I don't do it as much. I roleplay like John, so he would do the lawful things.
The Good Ending:
It was all Lenny and Arthur's Imagination while they where drunk and none of those deaths ever happened.

i used a mod that lets me use weapons in camp then made it so that micah isnt invincible in camp and then made it so that if micah dies the screen fades into the credits

Canon means it actually happened in the story line. If something is not canon, it means it doesn't exist inside the storyline. For example, if something is canon, it impacts the storyline. If something is not canon, you can imagine it inside the storyline, but it does not impact it in anyway.

I just started story mode and now I don’t want to finish it knowing my two favorite characters, Hosea and Lenny, are gonna die. I mean, the amount of betrayal and deaths that I already knew were gonna happen, is gonna but me so hard.
I hate the ending of the first one. Especially now that the second game clearly shows that John became a farmer.
There was no need to kill John. I wish high or low honor would determine his death like it does with Arthur since with high honor Arthur is left to die from his sickness in peace by Micha but with low honor Micha will either stab him in the chest and back or shoot him in the face. He only lives for a few more hours in the high honor ending but him dying from sickness is way less infuriating than him dying by the hands of a rat named Micha. Exact same thing applies to Ross.

John had to die he had to pay his consequences for being a outlaw and John dies getting redemption becoming a hero and sacrificing himself finally accomplishing his mission which is saving his family Ross wanted to kill John because he was the last piece of the puzzle and John didn’t deserve to die but had to my guess is jack kills Ross trying to get revenge and after killing him he looks down at his gun probably regretting his choice realizing that revenge doesn’t do anything so he writes a book called red dead redemption which is in gta 5 and the story probably is the story of his father and his redemption
You just dont like Greek tragedies, its fine, the ending of rdr1 was fine, depressive, but fine.
Best endings that you will keep remembering are the ones with classic Greek tragedies , you won't be remembering the ending if they live happily ever after

He probably remembered how to use it in 1907 because of Arthur’s memory. He might’ve forgotten about it between 1907 and 1911 because he was so focused on the ranch.
People here thinking like philosophists, real reason is to not remove the dead eye altogether, I mean they didn't remove Arthur's entire arsenal too they'd just need to slightly alter it I guess.

I have to tell this story because it's too funny 😂 So, I've been playing RDR2 non-stop ever since it came out (I like to complete my games to the fullest and discover everything I can). Anyways, during my first playthrough I finally managed to hogtie the Vampire from Saint Denise, and I decided I wanted to see what would happen when morning came about to see if the sun would burn him. I put him on the back of my horse and I rode out of the city to a more secluded area... At least I tried to because when I was going over a bridge a bunch of raiders ambushed me and kept shooting. I ran as fast as I could and somehow the Vampire was still alive (I checked on him once I was safe). I went a little further up the road because I was still in an suburban areas and I wanted to be away from people... As I got towards a more foresty area, I decided it would be good to go off the road and stop, but just than I heard some shouting coming from the trees and this wagon that was on fire came out of nowhere! My horse reared up from fear (this horse spooked very easily, I was still bonding level 1 with this horse, but I think the horse reared because his stamina was low from him running non stop without a break) and I fell off of him and the horse took off.... straight towards the wagon. As my horse was getting closer to the wagon it exploded killing my horse and the vampire with him 😭😂 I was so sad but at the same time laughing like crazy. Thankfully I had a save I could reload but the vampire was gone... So I can only assume he's still wandering around the world somewhere. Anyways thanks for reading and have a great day 😁

1886- John leaves for a year shortly after Jack was born? (But that would make Jack 13 in the beginning of RDR2 when he’s clearly, like, four. Also John was only 12-13 at this time?)

Exactly. That could fix the endings. Low honor-John gets killed since he is obviously an outlaw if his honor is low.
High honor-John is left to live in peace as promised.
That dlc would also cover remaster which a lot of people probably would want.

@@santaria19 With those you can pick a canon ending yourself until a next one comes. As if we know canon endings with rpgs until second game comes out so its a poor argument that it should be in rpgs but wouldn't work in other games.
Also it seems to be its pretty obvious that high honor would be canon because the game is about redemption and both John and Arthur are good in story missions. Even if you have evil Arthur he stays with John and goes against the gang.

John never dies. He was still alive kinda of like a zombie . He woke up from his grave and kept on
