- Today we have a Diamond DPS who is afraid to play ranked and normally sticks to quickplay. Why are they so worried about their skill and why do they think they more belong in Gold?

It seems to me like he's scared because he would get flamed for making a mistake, my advice is: turn off chat and all communications. Use the comms wheel, start making mistakes and be conscious of them, learn from them, that's how you build confidence.
I may do that as well because I have 1000+ hours on quick play but only 37 hours on comp and it’s for my anxiety of getting flamed so thanks for the advice
I ended up doing this. Whenever my friend wants to play ow he *only* wants to play comp even if i dont want to try hard.
The one who flame others is alway the most anxiety one in the lobby.
I’ve played ranked before a bit, but I only really enjoy it now if it’s a 5 stack- even if we gotta wide queue for it. Just much more relaxing that way for me
I understand where that attitude is coming from, but I would suggest to use it to BUILD confidence and eventually turn on the chat again. Comms is an important part of multiplayer games. People get salty, but if you stay chill, the others are more likely to do the same.
Though I was forged in flames of the cesspit that is LoL, so I am used to stuff.
I had the same anxiety for comp for so long! I still default to qp most of the time, but I'm slowly getting myself into ranked more often. Good on this player for putting their gameplay out there! I can definitely see them climbing eventually, if they find their confidence. Great job!
Just turn chat off. Problem solved, now you can play ranked :).

I love how much these OW submissions are all acknowledging that they may be the problem and want to improve. Makes a change from the CS2, Valorant, Rocket League mental of "im not the problem my teams are"
That's very much an Overwatch mentality as well. The game is practically infamous for team blaming.
It's the classic, especially for people that have played the game for a long time and gotten complacent but still hate losing. My friends are the same way with our Randoms even when they clearly aren't the issue
I do that in rl but it's because, when I play in my rank, my tm8s underperform or make constant mistakes. But when I play above my rank, I'm not good enough to carry, so I play supportively. It's so stupid.

So you can’t blame the person on your team who goes 6 and 22? The person who just flanks and dies over and over and over? The person who just feeds after dying and not waiting for the team and just goes in 1v5? I have bought dozens and dozens of accounts to level them up to gm to sell. Most of the time in medal rank’s it’s 1-2 people on the team that have zero clue what they are doing. Are standing out in the middle of the map with bad positioning. Don’t know when to peel and more. But your favorite UA-cam shill will tell you different bc they can’t talk bad about the game.
I treat rank just as quickplay with better matchmaking and people who actually try to win 😂

I'm scared to play ranked as well, I just play enough to get placed and then I dont touch ranked anymore, especially when I play dps 😅
Having played both competitive and unranked, I was actually amazed at how poorly some players played in competitive…and how well some played in unranked…
When I first went onto competitive, I genuinely thought I would get “eaten alive”: constantly getting killed, getting nasty comments from team mates etc etc…
It’s not really what I’ve found, by and large…
Tbh I also suffer from ranked anxiety even tho I know it means nothing at the end of the day, internally there is something holding me back from going from masters 4 to diamond 1 because I went on a 17 game losing streak or whatever. Rn I'm just grinding for my 2nd jade gun (I got mercy's, probably gonna get kiri or ana next)

their aim on sombra, tells me they'd be better off on hitscans, soldier, soujorn,sombra..ect.. more so then reaper or mei

to add to the comment of things to eat or minimize venture ult, if u count it any kind of shield works rlly well which is y i like sigma as a venture counter

Btw quick is more sweaty than rank for me at least. But it's fine because it's for fun.
I tend to play too aggressive, so I found that Venture fits my style very well. I can bounce around all up in their team and get right back out when it starts to get dicey. I have to learn to not be TOO aggressive though. Had someone in rank tell me "don't ever play Venture again". WTF...at least I was TRYING to do something and break up their backline instead of flitting around the objective just poking. So I had a few deaths. Meh. Game before that, I had like 25+ elims and 6 deaths. Whatever. Move on.
I main support. And on the topic of sym turrets I always feel like thats my job to clean those up. I dont think the dps and tanks should have to stop making plays to deal with those unless Im out of the picture. Ive often wondered though if thats just my thinking or if others feel the same?

Bro done his 10 wins placed diamond but should be high gold low plat and is afraid of dropping . The best advice is drop to your rank and try see what actually works
I think the most anxiety one in the lobby is the one first to flame others.

I understand where the submitter is coming from. No disrespect meant at all but yeah I’m not sure how the game can think he’s diamond. Unless he just got extremely lucky for all his placement games and got carried and just never played ranked after that…

Turn off your chat in ranked, best thing I've ever done. I'm also like you were q'ing ranked makes me more nervous, which makes me play qp more than ranked. Turning off chat helps a lot, just keep voice on

How tf am I stuck in gold when there are folks like this in Diamond? Yeah, I make plenty of mistakes and accept responsibility for my losses, but I just don’t get it. Most diamonds would shit on me and not be wandering around playing sniper reaper using wraith on cooldown

Would be nice to get carried back to diamond. I can play in diamond and stay, I just keep getting anchors to keep me out 😂. I do what I can to improve my game but definitely skill issue where I need competent team to help me climb. Just need this guys luck with matchmaking.
