Hi Henry, love the energy you spread through your videos! Nice thoughts you share, and some handy tips too! Keep up doing what you, obviously, love the most! Greetings from Zagreb, Croatia! Cheers! Hrvoje
Love Coniston. Went there with secondary school on hiking holidays. Stayed in the youth hostel behind the church.
I am new to following you. I live in Oregon, USA. That image with the island, lake and trees is very nice, I really like it.
I recently heard an expression along the lines of 'Perfection is the enemy of good'. For me as a beginner, having really high expectations is all the more unhelpful as I'm bound to make mistakes, miss opportunities and get frustrated. Now i try to just go out and practice without worrying about getting a great image and the whole process is much more enjoyable. Excellent video as always 😊
Thanks a lot Benny. Yes it's certainly more enjoyable without the worry.
I really like the bits of trivia you added to this video. Nice work as usual.
Cheers Rob - it was a bit of a trial so glad you liked it!
Ok man, I'm not even a minute into the video and I can tell you this: your videos ALWAYS look so damn beautiful!!!! It's like a piece of art. Not only the scenery but the tone, the music, the editing... I can really tell the effort you put into it and I appreciate that more than you can imagine. So thank you so, so much. This is highly inspiring. It makes me want to make something great
Thanks so much for your kind words Daniel
Great video & cracking photos as usual. All the best for the new year Henry.
Thanks a lot Len!
Excellent video Henry.
Thank you Gary - cheers for watching mate
love your videos henry and thanks for the discount photography gloves and hat. keep shooting
Also, Photoshop can do auto focus stacking if you change your mind. It makes the whole process painless and only takes about 10 seconds.
Thanks a lot man, it’s something I should probably give more attention to. Cheers for the support
Oh and happy new year fella, and all the best for 2020, perhaps one day are paths will cross dude.
Happy new year to you too mate
Happy new year Henry.
Thanks a lot for the support - happy new year to you too
Hi Henry, first of all Happy New Year . Thank for another nice video. Out all the photos you took I prefer the 3rd one. You have proven even when dont have ideal conditions you can still produce beautiful images.
Anyway may 2020 be even better for you than last year. Paul
Thank you Paul - happy new year to you too
Happy New Year. Thanks for the channel, appreciate your time and knowledge.
Thanks very much Lindsey - thank you for your support
I'm eyeballing that stump behind Henry while he's eating @17:42 It looks like one could find some nice curves and textures going on with that between the bark and the core. The colour is rich too.
Nice one Henry, may 2020 bring you stability, success & happiness.
Thanks so much Jeff - your support has been appreciated mate
Happy new year Henri , a nice video
Cheers Rudy, happy New Year
Love the 3rd image Henry, keep up the great work. Happy New Year to you, 👍hope it's a another awesome one for you.

Cheers Carl
Ah that’s brilliant mate. Yeah it’s a brilliant location. Thanks for watching Carl

Thanks a lot! Happy new year to you too!
Hi Henry - well worth the wait! Happy New Year! Looking forward to lots more in 2020 - Cheers T 🙂
Cheer for waiting Tony haha. Thanks for your support this year mate
@@HenryTurnerphoto no worries - I'll be booking a 1to1 this weekend - T🙂
Loved those last couple of images. Sometimes you just have to wait for the inspiration to arrive! Good luck for the future and see you next year !
Cheers James, appreciate the support.
Really enjoyed watching your channel this year Henry, looking forward to seeing what you do in 2020....
Thanks for the support Clive
Great photos Henry! Yes, sunrise photography is different - or photography early in the morning, a coffee is always a good idea :) Quite interesting: I recognized that also vlogging is different, as it is absolutely dark outside before you arrive at the spot - as you can see in my video from today for example ;)
Thanks a lot Christian
The trouble with the lakes is that its hard to find something substantially new. A lot of views are so cliche'd or 'classic' as you say. Best chance is late at night or early enough to see the mist hanging over the water or with some life.
a fantastic job Henry, I liked it a lot, .. happy new year !!
Thanks a lot Ariel
Great final image, so we'll worth the effort. Keep it up.
Thanks very much Robin
best wishes ...
Thanks a lot
Cmon Henry! Quit with all the whinging! Suck it up buttercup! LOL! JK! Fun vid as always!
Excellent as always, Happy New Year Henry, have a good one.
Thanks so much Martin, happy new year to you too mate
Liked, even before you ducked underneath the branch..lol
Haha, thanks a lot Ady!
Hi Henry I live in the top end of Australia one of the best locations in the country for photography and have the same problem i get to fussy about what I can shoot but everyone says how cool my pics are so yes its in our head keep at it mate as you are quite refreshing to watch good luck on the pro shooter now hope you make $$
Thanks a lot for the support John
Nice vlog and images Henry, all the best for the coming year.
Thanks for the support John - happy new year
Happy new year Henry, really enjoyed your video and beautiful images. The 3rd one was my favourite :) Can't afford a print just yet, but I will one day, so in the meantime I'll buy you a coffee :D
Happy new year Carla. Thank you so much for your kind contribution - it comes hugely appreciated. Thanks for your continued support!
I enjoyed this very much! I just found your channel from a mention that Mark Denney gave, and immediately subscribed. Your content is well presented, and you come across as a quite relaxed and "normal" guy that just loves making photographs, so well done! Keep up the good work, and here's hoping 2020 is a great year for you and your channel.
Thanks a lot Larry , I'm glad you enjoy my content. Thanks for watching and cheers for taking the time to leave a comment!
great stuff mate, keep it up
Thanks a lot Lewis
Nicely done, Henry. New to your channel. This was the second of your videos I've watched and you had me with the Canada hat. 😁
Haha thanks a lot Marcus - cheers for leaving a comment. Glad you like the hat!
It felt like i was watching a documentary. Fantastic photography, really helpful. Very inspired to go walking and shoot some scenes.
Preferred the last 2 images Henry😊 however if you had used a polariser on the second image feel that it may have improved the foreground. No.matter - all the best for the New Year and will look forward to your future work😊😊👍
Thanks Barry, and cheers for the suggestion regarding the polariser! Happy new year and thanks for the support
Karen from Canada here. Love your touque (hat)! Is there a particular reason you wear a Canada hat?
Thanks a lot! I lived there for 18 months so it's a nice memory for me
Happy New Year Henry!! I love the little bit of history you've given us with each location. More great photos as usual. Keep up the great work and continued growth into 2020!!
Thanks you Mike - the history was a bit of trial so I'm glad you liked it!!
Good video mate. Hope you had a good Christmas and new year. What happened to the red beast?
Cheers Adam, the red beast is fine, just fancied taking the gf's car out this time haha
Great 2019, hope you have a very successful 2020 and beyond!
Thanks man, happy new year
Hey Henry Happy New Year to you!!!! ....... I just love the way you turn a negative day into a positive one Bravo mate. The 3 image absolutely stunning Good luck for 2020😎👍
Thanks very much Steve, I didn’t actually think of it like that, about turning a negative into a positive - thanks for making me realise!! Happy new year mate, cheers for the support
Hi Henry, you mentioned that you are not into focus stacking (f16). I’m pretty sure you feel differently now, what changed your mind? I don’t at the moment, but feel I should be?! As ever, fantastic video. 👍👏
Great video.
Cheers Jerry
Hey Henry, Happy New New Year/Decade from across the pond...nicely done, I especially liked image #4!
Thanks Larry, happy new year to you too.
I myself, like to put to much pressure on me to get those killer shots every time I go out, I forgetting just enjoy what I’m doing. Get video as always looking forward to 2020
Thanks a lot Ronnie - cheers for your support
Happy new year Henry, thank you for all the great content in 2019 and can’t wait for the 1 on 1 photography course in feb
Thanks a to Paul - I look forward to it too mate, will be nice to be in Shropshire again.
Hi Henry, a new subscriber here. I really have enjoyed your videos, slowly catching up on back issues :) My question is in regard to the first image...you stated a 2:40 exposure I believe at f8 and ISO 100 in relatively daylight conditions. Is the long exposure relative to the attachment on the lens? Obviously a filter of some sort I am guessing? Otherwise such a long exposure would leave the image totally blown out...what kind of magic are you performing here? Thanks for sharing your work, it is very inspiring.
Nice Toque
Cheers Greg! 🇨🇦
love your videos Henry some get watched 2 or 3 times it would be great if you link a google map to some of your locations of key interest I live in Cambridge and get to the lakes maybe twice a year but having links would speed up being able to also visit where you have been. stay strong, love your content and excitement in your vlogs cheers Darren
Thanks a lot Darren
Cracking vid henry, one of my favourite places in the lakes, had some good shots with the drone before but now ive got the camera ill be back up that way in new yr . Atb and happy new yr 👍
Thank you very much, cheers for watching. Tarn Hows you mean? If so then yes I’d agree it’s a cracking area it really is! happy new year to you too mate.
@@HenryTurnerphoto yea tarn howsand coniston lake in general, i used to be up coniston a lot with my canoe and camping but il be making more time to get up to tarn hows and east side of lake as ive never really explored that side
Ah yes, funny you say that. I have a kayak and was thinking some of this eastern shores of Coniston would be perfect for launching it!
@@HenryTurnerphoto were your first photo from looks a good launching area and quick onto peel island were im going to wild camp this year, went last year on it for the day with hammocks but wanting to do night now so the east side is far easier to paddle to it from the west side were everyone lauches from
Awesome video and beautiful photo work!😊🙏I wish you Happy New Year! By the way, what happened to your 18-55 mm lens? Is it in retirement now?
Thanks very much! I still have the 18-55 but I've just enjoyed using my new 16-35 so much over the last month or so!
@@HenryTurnerphoto You are welcome! That's cool!! 😊 🙏
Nice one Henry. I'm trying to learn what to do with overcast days.
Your photography is definitely improving Henry..what happened to the red beast??
Thanks Terry that means a lot. The red best is fine, just fancied taking the other car out for a spin haha
Hey Henry, Love the tuque.. you must want to come to Canada. i live in eastern Canada, NB we don't have rockies but we do have amazing coastlines. keep it up buddy nice job. I'm also a Nikon D7200 user
Happy New Year Henry. I am saving to buy the Tokina 11-16mm based on your recommendations, should I rethink that or do you still think it’s a worthwhile purchase for a budding landscape photographer?
H Craig, yes absolutely I'd recommend it. Like I said I'd have used it for that second image if I'd have known it was in my bag haha
Pressure is a self-inflicted pain, my friend.
I take lots of panoramic landscape shots, too. I use a leveling base between the tripod and head.
A good idea to use one 👍🏼
That first one would have been good in black and white.
Nice vlog mate some lovely shots really like the first especially. Oooh brave doing a kofi mention after recent events lol 😂 I’m the same don’t see anything wrong with it it people want to donate
Cheers Tom! Not sure what the recent events are, I’m afraid to ask?! Haha
Henry Turner haha you haven’t missed much I will leave it there lol 😂
14:35 Wait - what happened to your red beast?
I like your approach of spreading some background info of your locations. Please keep it that way. 👍
What have we learned today? Always double-check your gear before heading out. 😅
That you put up that Ko-Fi page is awesome! Now, don't get me wrong, your prints are awesome, too, but... as a hobbyist photographer, I prefer to put my own pictures on my walls, 😅 though I'd love to support you with some cash. And I bet I'm not the only one with this dilemma.
Thanks Julian! The read beast is fine, he was just having his MOT done at the garage!!
@@HenryTurnerphoto I see. That's good to hear, red beasts are the best ones! 👍
The title hit me hard.
Mark Denney lead me to your channel on one of his videos on UA-cam
Cheers for taking the time to leave a comment here, much appreciated
👏
Cheers Jeff
