I had to watch this video twice in order to actually draw information from it, because I got so lost in your enthusiasm and passion the first time around. your videos are informative, yes, but they are also such a joy to watch. Keep up the wonderful work, I for one am really enjoying them and am drawing so much from them.
I've just watched this video with a smile on my face, and with a deep mix of emotion and awe, taking in not just the wide-angle landscape photography, but in fact the wide-angle view on life, nature, even the world that your lenses and words capture and combine for us in wonderful strokes of sound, shadows and light. Nothing I've seen so far in the world of landscape photography, in Canada, Britain or anywhere else, reminds me more of the British romantic painters than your work. The love for the land, the love for the art and craft of this type of photography, recalls for me the poetry of William Morris like "The Wood Beyond the World" and other wonderful poems. Keep walking, talking and shooting, Henry. You're lifting spirits up, just above the horizon, far beyond your locality. Thanks.
Henry you have given me a different and exciting view of our fabulous British landscapes. In my younger life i was quite an avid walker. I could often be found wandering around up and down hills and dales with my dogs, admiring the vistas set out before me.. Feeling a sense of freedom but a strong connection to the land too.. Now the story is different, no dogs or walking the fells but i was not content to just sit in a rocking chair, endlessly reminiscing. So bought a camera, thinking that my mind would be the better for it. i never thought to take landscapes photos - until lockdown struck. I went online and found great photos of places i once walked. Among the photographers, who inspire me, is a certain young man named Henry Turner.. Your enthusiasm appears to know no bounds, as you gaily endure wind and rain and whatever else the weather can throw at you, as you explore and capture the essence of the British countryside. When i am able (no personal transport) i intend changing genre and will attempt landscape photography but on lower levels of ground. i live in a very large uninteresting town in West Yorkshire and look forward to the end of incessant lockdowns and restrictions, when i can get out with camera and 3 legged friend and try to remember all the knowledge you have imparted to your ever-increasing number of followers. Thank you Henry. My life has new purpose.. it really is never too late to teach older folk new tricks.. i think the mono image of the dark gritstone supported boulder is fabulous, as is the shot of the group against the light.. Brilliant Henry..
Hi Kelsang - just wanted to reply and say thank you very much for you kind words and for the support. It's these sorts of messages that keep me inspired. I absolutely adore our landscape here in Britain - it really has become my life's passion. Thanks again for the support!!
My goodness Henry you’re on a roll just now, your last few vlogs have been so good and inspiring, seriously man, you’re getting better and better. We couldn’t get better content on mainstream TV with all the resources they’ve got. Your subs should be going through the roof!’ Top drawer
Henry, another top drawer blog. Class. You have improved so much compared to just a year or so ago. Your images are stunning. What a treat for us, those of us following your channel. Your enthusiasm and passion is what drives you and at the same time inspires us. Excellent, excellent blog. Please keep up your energy and creativity. I look forward to your every new vlog. CLASS.
Superb video young Henry! What a stunner of an area. Britain is fabulous isn't it? Absolutely love the images & explanations of how the area has evolved. Second image reminds me a bit of Skye which I visited for the first time in autumn. Well done Henry and keep up the brilliant advice, videos and images.
Great stuff mate, I'm a geologist / amateur photographer, so it was pretty cool to see a mix of geological history and landscape photography in your vlog. I loved it, and your photos, well they're always brilliant. A while back I worked in Eastern Antarctica at a place called Marine Plain, an area of exposed 20 million year old seafloor, where glacial erratics the size of cars are scattered everywhere, and fossilised whale bones stick out of the ground. Doesn't matter where I am, I never see rocks as 'just a pile of rocks', I see them as a link to our past, and something that will, for the most part, be around long after we have gone. I'm looking forward to seeing more of your vlogs in the future taking in these awesome glacial erratics.
You need to go to Brimham Rocks next - I hadn't heard of them but was blown away when I stumbled upon them. Also Fleswick Bay up near Whitehaven - some stupendous sandstone formations round there
I’ve only recently gotten a DSLR, a Nikon D300, so a crop sensor camera as you use. Your channel and a few others are giving me so much inspiration to get outside and get taking pictures, but not only that, the tips and info you give is also helping me massively. All the best from a fellow Turner.
Well if this vlog and last image doesn't inspire anyone even established photographers I have no idea what will , Henry you are smashing it in every way mate. 🙏
I really enjoy joining you on your walks. Not only is the photography beautiful and you’re very informative but living on the other side of the world I love seeing the countryside. Thank you
I am fascinated by the ice ages, so I really appreciate the information you shared about such an amazing place. Stunning images, great video, thanks for taking us on this journey with you!
Great vídeo! Fantastic location! I'm just a new beginer in fotography, but I'm learning a lot with your vídeos.👍 I love landscape and I love your enthusiasm outdoors😁. Many thanks. Greatings from Portugal 👍
What a stunning video, Henry. Your enthusiasm is as inspiring as your photography. I grew up in B.C. Canada which in some ways is similar to your part of the UK. I now live in Melbourne, Australia - totally different. I think your photography philosophy inspires me because it's about discovering the beauty where you live. Now that lockdown is over here, I'll be out looking for that beauty. Thanks a million!
I love your enthusiasm Henry I got out Saturday morning thinking id get a great sunrise, but a big bank of cloud sat on the horizon until the sun popped over it at 9.30 . great morning to be out with the only sounds of the bleething sheep and the buzzards waking up !( I could of done with a pair of your gloves though) cheers
Henry, you keep jabbering on. It makes your videos special. You keep doing as you are. What a spectacular area! Beautiful wife vistas with subject scattered around. The best. Carry on Mr. Turner!!!
Another great vlog Henry. Making the perched boulder pic black & white certainly gave it a more atmospheric feeling. You've certainly inspired me to get out more, and I'll have to go out to the moors around here in West Yorkshire and find some rock formations for myself. 👍
I have been left absolutely awestruck by this video Henry, I am quite new to your channel but this is your best yet (in my humble opinion) loving your work and enthusiasm you really do deserve every success
Infectious emotion in this video, Henry! You are obviously doing what you were put on this earth to do. Your love for photography and your love for inspiring others is apparent. I am so happy that I found your channel. Cheers from Texas!
Stunning part of the Yorkshire Dales. There is a giant erratic boulder known as the obelisk on scales moor not too far from that location, you should check out. Great vid, love your work 👍
Peter Smith I didn't know that rock had a name, Peter - I took umpteen photos of it last year when the world was 'normal'! It's a great place for atmospheric images and lots of lone trees into the bargain. My favourite part of the Yorkshire Dales!
@@GableEnder9 Its been on my list to photograph for a while, even though I've walked past it many times. If we get a bit of snow this winter, I might just get out there and photo it.
Wow Henry! ......this is your first of your videos I’ve watched. I shall now be watching many more, together with ALL of your back catalogue. Your enthusiasm, energy and knowledge around your subject are so inspiring. You present the perfect teaching experience wrapped in a warm blanket of awe and wonder. Many, many thanks 😊
I think you know you're doing it right when you exude enthusiasm and it's contagious and inspiring! You are a joy to watch, have bags of likeability and I feel inspired to go out and take pictures. Keep it up man, have become addicted to this channel. :-)
Really great. You have loads of natural talent, but you understand the technical side of photography as well and that makes your videos very enjoyable to watch. Thank you
Henry - I completely understand your enthusiasm for this place! I knew where you were going from the first frame of the vlog - I was there when the world was 'normal' and spent a good three hours running around like a mad thing taking photographs. I spent a long time searching for the particular one you photographed, as it's so well known. It's just a mesmerising location and I can't wait to return. The whole of the Craven District of the Dales is a photographer's paradise!
Hi Henry WOW amazing place and photos. Love your filming Spot On. Think I will have to put this place on my list to visit. I mite even invite you along.
Beautiful light in the final image Henry and you are so right about the weather. Hard to believe not that long ago it was snowy conditions now its all change again. Enjoyable as always
That last shot was glorious! I love your enthusiasm & awe for/with the different weather and how you literally make the best of it. I often get distracted by the beauty of the landscapes you visit and sometimes have to watch again to get the also important technical info! I’m not a big fan of black & white (even Ansel Adams), but I do appreciate how it emphasizes texture and light patterns. I have a D7500 and I am thrilled that you get pro shots from the same camera series as me.
I got a tokina 11-16 as my first wide angle lens before I started watching your channel. I was surprised to see you using it because it was one of the cheapest wide angle lenses I could find. Since then I’ve realized it’s probably my second sharpest lens and I’ve noticed the price of them have gone up a fair bit! Great photos Henry! I agree with your choice of the long exposure on the first shot, having the blurred clouds definitely made the subject more prominent.
Hi Henry a another great video. I love both photographs but if I was force to choose one it would be the first one as it look so dramatic in monochrome .you are definitely the number one landscape photographer on utube, no one can match you for your enthusiasm and shear passion, for landscape photography. You Would not look out place as a Presenter on the TV programme Coast. Look forward to your Next adventure.
Just love watching your vlogs, learn a lot and its a bit of escapism for me. Saving to one day come over to your lovely part of the world. You make me forget my troubles for a while.
Great location & great compositions....thanks for sharing... Rocks are always interesting to photograph anywhere in the world...interesting video... Cheers..
Henry, this by far is the most awesome work, considering the weather. You manage to carry on in high spirits with your goal and give us a sense of clarity and purpose. Thank you so much. Cheers!
Wonderfully video. Enjoy your commentary and the energy and enthusiasm you bring to your work. As a Lancashire lad now living in the US, it’s great to wonder the hills, in your company, that were so much a part of my life. Thanks so much for sharing your expertise. Cheers, Trevor

Great video once again so much enthusiasm. The long exposure shot of the single Boulder was superb, the cloud streaks for me helped give the image depth. Thanks again for the video gives me something to try when I take my sigma 10-20mm out with me
I watched your ideas about telephoto for landscape and started to imagine, again, how I would use my wide-angles (which I tend only to use on confined interiors)... so looking forward to learning something from you, again, today. Thank you.
Thanks Henry im learning so much from you. You are a fantastic teacher with your amazing enthusiasm and passion. Love your videos, thank you very much 😊

Magnificent colors throughout the whole video ! Loved your passion talking about the area and the compositions (and loved the images of course) Keep up the good work!
Thank you Henry; one of your best videos. I loved the monochrome landscape. The movement in the sky made it for me. Wide angle lens are great but you need foreground interest to make them work. I like the silhouette of the rocks in the final image.
