- In the Doctor who universe, once species will punch above their weight with any threat of any size, that species is the feisty and militaristic Sontaran Empire.
Themselves a clone race, bred from a small act of desperation of another, they have a sense of superiority that dwarfs all. Then again, everything literally revolves around them.
Doesn't stop me making jokes about their height though.

After watching this a few times over, it just dawned on me that Straxx might say "For the glory of the Sontaran Empire" after most things he says, because it's been hammered into him from his earliest days as a lil' tube babeh that the Empire is everything, and everything must be done in service to the Empire. So, in essence, he's basically trying to justify his helping of other species to himself so as not to feel dishonoured.
Or he's just a little potato man who gets all the funny one-liners. I dunno.

A moon could have a stronger gravity if it were dense and had a small radius. It could be weaker in gravity overall, but it’s surface could have stronger gravity.
This is what my thought was. If it had a tungsten core and a thin silicate surface instead of the usual iron + thick crust it would be of greater density and the surface would be closer to the densest part.
@@DigitalJedi yes but I would be really rare especially because all elements heavier then iron is extremly rare also having a satellite with a complete different composition that it's planet would need a really specific way to form it.
In the case of the Sontarran system, it could be the moon was perfectly positioned to also be pulling toward the sun, whilst the sun was pulling back, causing an equilibrium of sorts (of course, the moon would likely have an elliptical orbit than, as it swung around the far side of the planet, further from the Sun).

I would love to see The Sontarans meet and fight The Klingons.
I really enjoy these, and you've inspired me to do an 'amalgam universe', combining dozens of Scify universes together. I did this some time ago (2007?) with fantasy settings, mashing about 30 of them together (I do maps for RPGs), and it was quite a hit, so I can't wait to start stitching this stuff together. BTW, I've found that a lot of lore is fairly easy to blend, which is the same thing I found when I did the fantasy one - seems like tropes serve a very good purpose in this regard.
Actually this path to having conquered governments having some independence and only perform resource gathering with the sortarians leaving them much alone except in matters of military makes sense as they are not a standard empire and they follow rules of war one of them is having a population well controlled be treated fairly to avoid rebellio
Mandalorians from star wars would actually make a sontaran find someone to admire.

Master Cyclonis probably but even then. Klingons are willing to make allies. Sontarans are not. That’d the reason I don’t think they would become friends, one are warriors that live for more then just that, the other are nothing but warriors and will fight everyone

Capturing the scale of the battle while allowing the bigger players be recognizable, (generals and heros and the like.) And emphisizing the colors of war over the world's natural color pallet.
I like that these guys don’t seem to pretend like they won or make up a reason as to why they’re right on the fly, such as some klingons
I think that Warhammer 40k's Orks and Necrons would be quite interesting to look at. The other factions would be interesting as well, of course, but those two are the two that first came to my mind.
Does any source explain why Sontarans shrank? In the Classic series, Sontarans are these huge brutes towering over average humans; but, by the time we see them in the more recent series, they're compact dwarfs! What happened?
Speaking of clone armies can you look at the Zentradi from SDF Macross.
Oh yeah, the Zentradi would punt the Sontarons like footballs... litterally, I mean the Zentradi are supposed to be about 50 foot tall

I feel that Sontarans are not the worst warring group, often trying to not murder every civilian or turn them into robots
Theoretically a moon could have higher surface gravity than the body it is orbiting, because it is proportional to ρ*r (ρ the density, r is the radius) while the mass is proportional to ρ*r³. If Earth and Uranus were in a bound system, Earth would be the orbiting body because it is 1/15 of the mass of Uranus, but it has slightly stronger gravity at the surface (by 13%).
I'd kind of want to see a battle between these guys and the jem'hadar.
Do you plan on doing the Sangheili? They're not the most original race out there, but they are a fan favorite among the Halo community. I'd also suggest doing some of the Warhammer 40K races too. Actually, I suggest that more than the Sangheili. You've already done a couple Halo videos, but no 40K content.

anything that isn't Dalek deserves to die. daleks are supreme. even viewing their own creator as an inferior being. until they need him because they have come across an enemy they can't beat alone. to which point they use him until he is no longer useful then go back to trying to kill him. however, he has altered some Daleks to few him as a superior being and a leader. and even created a whole new race of Daleks. however, the original Daleks who follow the supreme/emperor Dalek find out about this and go and to capture their creator. the new race of Daleks defend their creator and the imperial/renegade war begins.

The kovitch compromised making peace with another clone race called the shosta then became the shostakovitch. Then they had to learn to speak proper Russian, as they teleported into a Russian military base in 1980, and got one of their members killed, then left retaliating, by dismantling peacefully as a warning, a military warhead.

The Borg would kick their asses. Borg technology is made to adapt to pretty much anything (species 8472 notwithstanding). That's why the Borg are such a massive threat. You might kill a few on the first encounters because they haven't adapted to your technology yet, but once they did, there's very little you can do against them.
I don't believe Sontarans could outthink the Borg, especially given their 'death before dishonor' attitude. They would never retreat from the Borg, but they wouldn't be able to beat them either, thus allowing the Borg to quickly and efficiently take them out, assimilate them and pretty soon, you got a swarm of Borg cubes all up in your business that knows every little thing about your technology plus a crapton more from every other race they assimilated.

@@Xylarxcode They could avoid assimilation by self-destructing in the event that they can't fight off a Borg attack. That's their natural response to being in a clear losing battle anyway.

on a parallel universe john lumic a rich genius who had an incurable disease was trying to find new ways to protect the human brain when the body failed. he began an experiment that involved removing the brain and placing it into a cybernetic body. realising that emotional distress caused the brain to die he created an inhibitor chip that removed all emotions. having created he 1st successful cyberman he sought approval from the British government to turn all the people into Cybermen. but got denied by the president of Great Britain. but being scared of death and in constant pain, he continued without the approval and began gathering up the homeless and turning them into Cybermen. seeing his success. he activated ear pods to control the people and make them unwillingly step into the cyber-conversion units. he gets converted after being betrayed and attacked by his right-hand man. be became the cyber controller. his plans, however, were stopped by the doctor and company and Britain was liberated. with all the cybermen dying due to the emotional inhibitor being deactivated. however, Britain wasn't the only country lumic setup shop and across the world, people were being turned into Cybermen.

I think you're confusing life span for life expectancy. Life span already means the maximum number of years an organism can live, so maximum life span is redundant. His use of "average life span" in the video is perfectly fine.
@@DCTriv Not confused at all. I'm well aware of the difference. It's not a hard concept to parse. His first statement would indicate that Sontarans reached 80 on average, and could expect too on average. The second statement then contradicts that by saying few do. Far better to say, that Sontaran can live up to 80, but few do because of a high rate of attrition.
also by not simply enslaving them, it makes it easier to manage. their own governments manage things, the sontarans just take tithe or whatever.
