The fact they are “Mon Calamari” suggests that they should be squid like, but since they have some trouble breathing under water, I am getting the impression that they are more frog like.
Yes! That's exactly what I thought the moment I started watching this! I even remember seeing a Star Trek:Next Gen. episode that had a pair of aliens that resembled the Mon Calamari somewhat; I recall that, in the episode, Worf made a comment to the effect that he thought that those aliens looked handsome, and everyone gave him a "You must be crazy" look, lol. :)
SumBrennus In the star trek universe, THE ANTEDIAN from TNG and the XINDI - AQUATIC from Enterprise are fish like aliens( w/o legs), both are from water worlds.
"Adds more flavor to them. As a species, not as a dish" (insert robot chicken skit) "WELL! I guess I'll have the insensitive B%$#@.. With a side of F%$# You!"
Even though I find the Ocampa very interesting, and I'd love seeing a vid on them at some point, I gotta vote for the Cylons this time, because I know next to nothing about them. So, yeah, I vote Cylon. :)
As much as I love the Cylons I would love to see the Ocampa explored. Voyager set up amazing potential with Kes being a character that could play out her entire life span over the course of the show as well as watching the effect it has on the longer lived crew. I felt it was a waste of potential when they wrote her off. Should have been the annoying Talaxian.
thank you rick I am a life long fan of star wars. as I am 46 years old i have followed this topic for most of my life i encourage you to continue even though Disney have sanitised the history pf star wars .... wankers
i have been looking through the many vids on star wars race and tho this is only in starwars the old republic that i know of the cathar race has not been don id like to see that in future vids
The reason we land base creatures have legs is the sole purpose to move across land. Why could evolution give them legs if they are from a water world?
Interstellar ships would already be capable of traveling between different star systems. That's like the definition of interstellar. In other words they weren't interstellar until they had warp drive.
Missed the Vote comments! (I'll just have to add up the votes that have already been voiced too).
Ocampa

R.I.P Admiral Ackbar and Admiral Raddus.. 😖

IT'S A TRAP!
They didn't have calamari pizza because Mon Calamari are people, and I did not know that! - Yarael Poof
=D !!!
Soylent Blue is Mon Calamari?!?
Calamari tastes rubbery and weird. I don't like it myself. That's not racist.
That's because you cooked it WRONG!
Mon Mothma: "I'll have the calamari."
Admiral Acbar: "Well, guess I'll have the insensitive bitch, with a side of FUCK YOU!!"
CYLONS!
LordSpleach so say we all
Ever get the sense the Mon Cals and Quarren would be more at home in the Star Trek Federation than anywhere else?
Yeah.
I mean, even their shipyard logo looks like the classic Starfleet insignia.

The Antedians from the TNG episode _Manhunt_
One of them was played by the drummer from the band Fleetwood Mac.

There are Quarrans (or Quarrens) in Voyager, in the Delta Quadrant.
Ocampa
As a Star Wars fan since the 90's, I vehemently hold that Legends, is the Canon. Especially after the start of "The Disney Era" of Star Wars history.

Excellent Cultural Index, Very Entertaining and Educational! 👍👍💯😉👌
Can't help it, "Mon Calamari" always makes me hungry for Italian seafood.
IT'S A SNACK!!!
For some reason the “goodbye” at the end of your video cracked me up I automatically said “see ya” right afterward 😂
Even though I find the Ocampa very interesting, and I'd love seeing a vid on them at some point, I gotta vote for the Cylons this time, because I know next to nothing about them. So, yeah, I vote Cylon. :)
best line even from one that is not ackbar is "call up a hammerhead corvette i have an idea"

I can’t find the button to vote for Cylons
Right off the bat, the narrator speaks the truth
What adds more flavor to them as a species is salt and pepper seasoning.
Cylons.
Love the cultural index i would love to see the ocompa next
Cylons!!!

Very cool video. I will always be happy when you include Legends material in your videos.
George Lucas was definitely lazy with the alien name 😆 🐙 🚀 🔫
You should do species from Andromeda or Farscape.
Yea those genetically engineered people
Lol the minecraft ore-vein used in the presentation.
Mon Calamari and Vulcans do have similar philosophies in the needs of the many outweighing the needs of the few.
Or the Unas race from Stargate.
i like youre flow of speach, it feels very natural, not like some other crap channels who just read up a googled text.
Dey didn't have mon calamari pizza cuz mon calamari are _PEOPLE_ and _I DID NOT KNOW DAT._
You should have a runoff of Cylon vs cylon - cause Id def be interested in the original ones
I hope the species tastes great as their name suggests.
Ocampa from Star Trek next!
Cylons, definitely, please :)
Zentradi from SDF Macross please.
Where the vote at?
It’s a trap- Admiral Ackbar.. I love General Van Suthra as well even he died miserable using comm in middle of battle.
Make a part 2 more about the Quarran if you can?
Their ships are pretty resilient
10:10, yeah call it what you want, until they finally make something worth making cannon, I consider the "legend" material still cannon.
You got that right!
have you done Pa Lowick
Wow, no "it a trap" jokes. Impressive
Cylons please!
Don’t see the ballot comments, so I’ll just say Ocampa here.
Everyone wants to be born a cool togruta or twi'lek but lets be honest we'd more likely be born a mon calamari 😆
Cyclons, please and thank you.

it amazing really, how easy ti to ot make FTL in star wars, and in the exact same way too for all races what are the odds!
Admiral Ackbar Rules!
The reason we land base creatures have legs is the sole purpose to move across land. Why could evolution give them legs if they are from a water world?
Religion isn't about believing things without evidence. It's about making sense of otherwise senseless occurrences.
Ocampa Please
The nerd is strong with this one
The Hutts from Star Wars
I love them
Calamari....yum.
Cylons
Mon calamari make the best sushi
IT'S A TREAT!!!
But calamari though. What if they called you steak. That’s steak from earth.
Yummm calimar
long live Quarren!
9:32 and 10:17 I hope that you've learned to edit stuff like this out, since this video.
those were jokes...
Interstellar ships would already be capable of traveling between different star systems. That's like the definition of interstellar. In other words they weren't interstellar until they had warp drive.
Humans! (MCU)
My Squid 🤣
the Ocampa. Really the only interesting race Voyager came up with.
The species 8472 are much more intresting than the ocampa
Your not making the voting easy this time around... I don't think you'll get accurate votecounts this time.
Believing in something without proof isn’t faith. Faith is belief in anything you can’t physically see.

These worthless fish should have obeyed the Empire!
