I suffer from Depression, anxiety, nightmares and ptsd from years of abuse. I couldn't take it anymore and left. I suffer with guilt every day. But I got closer to Allah swt because of it.

You should keep trying to uphold a relationship. If you cant live with them, you could at least message them. They are maybe messing you very much or Otter Things. May Allah help you.
@@Mrclatbam update: I'm visiting them for Eid this week for the first time in years. I have been in contact with my father for a couple of weeks now. He's the easier one to deal with. Thank you for your advice.

1. Commit major sin, & cutting ties may prompt them to stop the sin.
2. Are Mushrikoon calling to falsehood or doing sihir
3. Harms you in your deen (ie distances you from it)

SubhannAllah, this is timely. There is an issue I have not heard spoken about wherein pagans are marrying Muslims. I pray that Allah protects our brothers and sisters, ameen.

It's the worshipping of the religion and absence of Allah.
House is blaring Qur'an recitation, lectures. Walls full of bookshelves, thafseer, hadith and what not.
But the double standards, bias, hypocrisy.
Sheer denial and rejection of the Qur'an when they have to take responsibility for a wrong.
The spread of injustice with all the knowledge in the world of Qur'an and Sunnah.
The soul feels rotten and the heart bleeds to death.
That's how my Deen, my faith, my prayers take a hit.

Sometimes the hearts and minds are so rigid, so hard that no goodness is seen by and accepted. If not addressed they become blind and will be unable to be just and good rather will nullify the truth.
Long time rejection, maltreatment and injustice from family affects one’s well being and health. Every aspect of life get affected. Will result in poor self esteem.
Islam doesn’t teach to suffer without addressing the problem and indulge yourself in harm while doing nothing about it. One should stay respectful but to draw lines is very important when family is dysfunctional or they will never realise the injustice they are doing and expecting something good will result in more suffering.
So it’s better to realise the truth in time, think and act for one’s own well being also.

My son lives very close to me, He told me I am abusive and he stop speaking to me. I dont know what he is talking about but I beg for forgiveness , wont even answer a text message. It hurts my heart Alhumdulilah
My father is saying me that I should have that much positivity in myself to change them in a positive manner because they are my relatives.
But, whenever I am with them I am surrounded with negativity and feel anxious. I want to cut ties with them, mean not hanging out with them much, sometimes only for my self protection because I have noticed I am also having some negative traits in me because of them.
But he doesn't allow me to cut ties with them and want me to change them, But i am worried that I am going to change by them.
No. Never do that it's not your responsinilty to change them, only thing you can do it maintain ties by asking them about their wellbeing, as long as you aren't cutting ties with them you're good to go and not sinful. Yes, I agree being around toxic environment consumes you and takes away all your goodness, but run away from the things that aren't in your control. Concentrate on your future and cut of all the toxicity from your life.

Assalamu Alaikum! I heard an Islamic talk in which the speakers mentioned not to cut relations but also not to put yourself in harm’s way. They mentioned that when dealing with problem relatives, the less you deal with them the better. The bare minimum is when you see them, give them Salam or wish them a happy Eid. That is it. You do not have to be around them. In Islamic law, this is not cutting off relations. Islam teaches you to not lose your dignity or to “bend over backwards.”

And my relatives i don't know them no one and they don't know me even if i contact them we don't know each other so how do I contact someone who doesn't even know me i grew up with my mom and didn't meet my relatives. He does not miss guide you or effect you in anyway. Keeping a connection with him will probably be a guide for him back to Islam.

Allah knows best, as the video is saying if it harms you and changing you for the worse, make dua for him to obtain hidayah but don't stay there if this affecting your relationship with Allah and your obedience to him. I have a question.
My father side did sihr on my father to have an affair. I can’t explain the whole story anyways, he cutted ties with them for 4 years but unfortunately they talk again, now those family keep asking money to my father for personal things despite all of their children succeed, all of them have a job, and my dad is the only one who is working for MY FAMILY. I convinceD my dad sometimes that they have money so why would he give them even when they have a jobs but he always said “cuz they don’t have money” like ????? They have 5 cars mashallah and few of them are brand new, but idk why he keep saying that, it makes me feel so emotional and frustrated about life, sometimes satan gave me negative thinking about how I wish he was not my father when I was born. I love my father so much but I can’t control him nor my mom. I did dua for my dad’s guidance but it didn’t happen.

My mother in law done sihr to me and my husband we cut her off our life. We distant ourselves from his siblings too cos they side with her and manipulate him.

The fourth reason's example is very strange. Why would the one trying to connect be cut off from their relative? It sounds like the one trying to "connect" is harrassing and abusing their relative to such an extent, they decided to cut off because they were being harmed beyond their soul's capacity.

SubhanAllah. I hope you get the relief soon inshaAllah. I spoke to a Muslim psychologist and I sought opinions of Muslims leaders in the community. They all had different perspectives and so combined all of that advice and asking Allah for help with the situation was the way forward for me just to deal with the pain. I still haven't confronted my family but I pray to Allah that when or if I do, to be patient and not lose my mind and lash out at them. It's a trick of shaytan to cause severance of ties. My family are not even worth mentioning that's how much they've hurt me.
