Hey, just wanted to pop a message to thank you for changing your sound recording device, before, I had to put headphones to be able to hear you on my old macbook; and now, I can just sit on my couch and listen to you like this 🥰
Can't wait for the next episode, you're truly my favourite knitting podcast.
Take care !
I would love to see a "What's in my knitting bag" podcast where you go over all your tools and supplies! (Or maybe youve done it before and I've missed it) You are so talented!
Love the orange V top. Looks fabulous on you!
I AM SO EXCITED FOR THIS UPLOAD. I haven’t even watched it yet and can’t for a bit, but still. Awesome. Happy colder weather time!
Hope you enjoy!
Sees the vest, immediately scrolls down for the pattern details*** It turned out sooo good! I love the color and fit and everything about it! You have some gorgeous projects in the works! I hope you enjoy your fall and can't wait for the next podcast!
Thank you soooo much! The pattern is definitely a winner I want a thousand of them 😍 I hope you make it!
It’s always hard for me to find anyone to share my excitement of my yarn acquisitions - so it’s always wonderful to see your same love and appreciation of your yarn and wool! I don’t feel so alone. Your expressions are so cute, the vocal oohs a aahs show your appreciation of great fibers and colors, much like myself and others I’m sure. Very much appreciated. Love your calming style and podcasts. ♥️🍃
Awww yes! It's such an obsession for me. Thanks so much for watching and for the kind comment
Your Semper Slipover is *perfect* and I love that you recreated an outfit that inspired you. Believe it or not, I have never knit a vest or a slipover (aren't they the same thing?) I am tossing around the idea of a vest-a-long at the shop at some point. Great podcast!
So drawn to the Autumn Hydrangea colorway.
Tempted to order it.😃
It is soooo beautiful. I am so eager to knit it up!
yay welcome back! glad you’re prioritizing rest :)
Oh thanks Holly 🧶🧡 doing what I can! Appreciate you!
I'm always so happy to see an upload from you. 🧡
On the sound, I've always noticed the sound quality, but figured you already knew about it. It's definitely better in this video, but still noticeable.
What about it is noticeable in the video?
@@truelaneknits in this video, I can hear the slight whirring in the background. Again, it's noticeable, but doesn't make me not want to watch. And it's definitely an improvement from before.
you inspired me to time myself and i knit approx 56sts a minute, and btw you just single handedly gave me back my knitting mojo with this vid
Dang girl 🧶🔥OK now I just need an alexandrasgarn video to give me MY knitting mojo back!
Thanks for another wonderful video! The sawing in the background made me laugh, those noises frequently come from my garage while my husband is out there working, so I didn't even think twice about it until you said something lol.
Hahaha that's so funny, I should have added a disclaimer just for you...I always appreciate when people put "siren in video" on the screen because I ALWAYS think that sirens in the background of videos are around me and I get anxious 😅
I would do a quick dye/wash test with the handspun yarn! either cut off a snip and treat it like you would wash your sweater, (i.e. hot or cold, no soap, soap, steam) or for sure block your swatch how you would wash your sweater. Sometimes fiber will bleed it's color, look in the water to see if any dye comes off! Best of luck it will be so beautiful whatever it turns out being
I'll be making a swatch for the sweater to wash & test any color bleeding!
The Olivia and Oliver tweed is SO GOOD!! Every time I watch one of your videos, I get inspired to browse Olivia and Oliver or sewrella 😂
Oooooh thanks girl! Their colors are so classic which is what I love 👌🏻
YESSSS to the tynn silk mohair explaination! That's how I felt when I worked with it for the first time. I didn't like how it didn't mold itself into my other strand, so it stood out in a way that was ehhh.
That is the prettiest vest I have ever seen omgggg 😻😻 and seeing those tiny knits makes me want to knit something small for kids 😭
DUDEEEEE YOUR BALLOON SWEATER OMG!!!! I need to prioritize mine now 😻 yours looks soooo gooddddd!
Also I'm obsessedddd with your Never Sweater yarn combo 😻
Thank youuuu! I'm seriously so excited to be in the testing group for the Never Sweater 🤩 PS I'm binding off the body of Balloon today! 🤭
Hey Chelsea, I actually saw a nice trick to weave in so many ends on striped garments. You can braid them down the side like a French braid and then only weave in the last 3 ends. I personally haven’t tried it but I thought the idea was genius. Good luck !
Believe it or not I still have some ends I haven’t woven in under the arm 😅 I might try that with those!
Perhaps you could pair your gorgeous green striped top with a thin white cotton "dress" shirt and let the tails extend the length. Kudos to you, Girl! Nicely done!!
Can I say that you are the podcaster that I cannot wait to see a video of??? 😻 ADORE!
☺ That warms my heart so much! Thank you for watching and commenting!
Your vest came out so beautiful; I might have to knit this pattern as well! Your cardigan plans in the cumulus yarn (and swatch looks divine) with the deep V sound lovely…I’m already picturing you wearing it over the dress you’re wearing in this episode! I finally finished that crocheted blanket in the peach Hobbii yarn, yay…can’t wait to gift it! Enjoy your autumn! 🧡
Thank you so much Lisa! I hope you're happy with your crochet blanket ❤ you should definitely make the Semper Slipover, I want to make the crew neck version as well!
@@truelaneknits Yes, I love it! I hope the recipients do too (haha). Take care xoxo
Oooooooo I’m also making the hazel sweater right now!!
Your outfit is dreamy!!
Ohhh thanks 🥰 glad it turned out!
Your vest is lovely - I like the color. The Waffle cardigan is a beautiful pattern and I think you could totally modify it. I'm in the process of completing the Jenny Sweater that I modified to v-neck instead of crewneck. All you have to do is find the spot where you'd like the V-neck to end(v-neck depth) and calculate the number of increases you will need to reach the total stitch count when you split for sleeves. Roxanne Richardson has a great video of that on here. Don't overthink the pattern - you just M1R or M1L at the last stitches to maintain the pattern.
REALLY?! Thanks for talking me through this! I'll definitely have to look into it now.
I'M FINALLY ABLE TO SIT DOWN AND WATCH THIS AFTER A BUSY WEEK AND I'M SO HAPPY 😆
YAAAAY! I love that feeling 😆
Thank you for your wonderful podcast. The audio of this podcast is amazing but I never noticed any problems with any of your previous podcasts. Love your love for yarn and patterns. You bring much joy and inspiration to my day.❤️🇨🇦
Thank you so much for watching! I appreciat ethe audio feedback, I'm going to try to keep getting better at it as well! I appreciate the kind words so much
Wow your balloon sweater will turn out sooo pretty!! Love your color combo😍
Thank you! 🧶🧡
Just hoping on here to tell you that I think I might have found a closer match for the long lost Milla Mia Sweden Naturally Aran Emerald yarn
, it's the Kaos Yarn Organic Soft Merino in Zealous ! Hope this can help some of you, I'm definitely knitting myself a Hipster Beanie using this color !
OMG, Hiromo Nagasawa “Weekend Hat” is gorgeous. wooow, I need it 😅
RIGHT?! After Hannah sent it to me I felt like I wanted to make one in every color!!!
Love everything. As usual ;)
I have enjoyed yoyr pidcasr so much!
Thank you so much for watching and commenting!
i’m finally in the round on my porcelain sweater and it would be so stunning in that green and cream
What colors are you doing!
@@truelaneknits the same as the original! using palette in celestial and oyster heather! the original reminds me so much of all the dutch porcelain we had in my mums house growing up 🤍💙
I LOVE your vest so much! The color, the mods, the styling - it looks so perfect on you! Thanks for another great podcast, perfect start to my Saturday morning 🙂
Omg thank youuu I’m so happy to hear that! Weekends are the best time to knit and watch podcasts 🧶🧡
Okay I watched this one the flight home and tbh i think you saved me from going crazy with boredom lol that green strip tank is 😭💕 SO GOOD!! And that handspun yarn 👀 holy cow. Could not be more perfect
In love with all your wip !!! Thank for this amazing podcast !!
Thank you so much for watching!
OMG that vest with that dress is incredible, I'm obsessed!!!!!!!!! All your projects look like they're going to be fantastic! I am currently working on Musselburgh and it's been a really fun pattern so far, I (like so many others lol) recommend!!!!
omg I it goosebumps when you talked about the kerr knitting pal sweater 🥲 when Megan told me she was spinning for your birthday, I nearly cried 😄 it’s going to be awesome!
Awww 🥲 I literally can't wait to make it, it will feel like a warm hug from my friends! 🤍
She’s baAaAack!
First of all, I have been at the edge of my seat waiting to see this outfit come together-I love it! I think I need a v-neck vest in my life. Also totally cannot wait to see the coziness that will be your Never sweater!
Thanks for keeping me company during an Italian bind off 😅 literally began and ended with your video 💛
Hellooooo omg I’m so glad you like the outfit! I’m seriously so excited about all my plans I need to grow ten more arms 🙈
❤ thanks for sharing… I am working on weaving in the ends on the stony cardigan I just finished, it’s crocheted and also have been knitting on my stripe hype sweater.. I am almost done with the body on that one
I have always wanted to make the Stony Cardigan, it's so cute! What color palette are you doing your Stripe Hype in?
Stumbled on your page and I am so happy I did. Love everything about your video, aesthetic, and vibe. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
I loved so many of your projects! The green stripey top was stunning and I think the Hazel sweater is going to turn out so beautiful! And I also loved the color of the balloon sweater, such a pretty colorway :)
Thank you so much Karen!
I CANNOT wait to see that hazel sweater come to life 😍 hopefully it’ll bring you all the cozy English countryside vibes and let’s put Jude law in front of that imaginary fireplace while we’re at it 🤪 your yarn pals Kerr sweater is such a wholesome idea and those colours go so well together 💛 i worked on the Sophie shawl while watching, thanks for keeping me company ☺️
OMG you're the best 🤣 I am sooo excited for the Kerr sweater! And that you started your Sophie shawl!!! I need photos 🧶❤
I love the swatch with the yard sale yarns together too 🥰
Yay!
Hi Chelsea, I want to refer you to a podcast that just did an explanation about why yarn knits up the way the Beautiful Lola peanutbutter color. The podcast is Rox Knits (Roxanne Richardson) episode S6E32. Love your podcast. You’re a beautiful knitter and I love you knits.
I'm going to have to watch that! Thanks so much for the kind comment
you could try putting a belt over your dress and tuck the slip over up/under that to become more versatile!
That is such a great idea! Thanks!
I don’t have a super long torso but between all the cropped patterns that don’t work for the over 60 crowd, or even on normal sweaters I also have to add inches and inches. Sometimes up to 6”! Your vest is beautiful and looks great with your dress. I kept hoping you’d give us a view standing. Thank you for that.😊
Thank you so much for watching and commenting! Yes, I think a lot of it is that I just prefer longer tops instead of cropped...luckily that's easy to customize in knitting!
the Kerr sweater is going to look amazing with those yarns!
Ahhh so glad you think so! I’m SO excited to make it ✨🧶
Girl, I have two skeins of grass green worsted weight yarn that I got in a knit crate years ago. I've never found the right project for it. I'd be happy to send it to you so you can remake your hat!
I'm so happy to hear about all the emerald green ideas in the comments! What yarn is it?
I am making a luna tee in that green color (the original green), now you're making me wanna make a hat out of the leftover yarn!
Love all of your WIPs!!
You are sooo adorable (I know I sound like an old lady) but I love watching you and everything you have finished and are making. Can’t wait to see what you will do next. ❤❤❤
Thanks so much for the kind words, I appreciate your comment and you watching so so much!!!
I’m enjoying this episode so much! ❤🧶💖
So glad to hear, thanks for sharing!
Hi, just wanted to comment about the issue you are having with the stitch between the last knit stitch and and 1st purl on the ribbed sweater. I am working through this issue now on another pattern (Big Rib - Jessie Maed). I have discovered combination knitting, which is basically what you are doing, wrapping purl stitch other way. I recommend to watch on you tube 'The Chilly Dog' 'combination knitting and 4 reasons to try it'. Her explanation is very clear, it really helped me.
I'll definitely give that a watch, thanks!
I learn a lot about color pairing from you 😊
No way! That’s wild! Thanks 🤭
The sweaters for your niece and nephew are sooo cute! I love that she wants to knit with you.
Everytime I see DK yarn I like, I think Weekend Hat. I need to actually make one.
Ohhh your swatch with the column of lines! That’s happened to me and I thought it was the way I knit (not that I did anything differently 😅). But I think it only happened when I was using Merino Singles. I don’t think I’ve noticed it on yarn with more plies.
Ahhh thank you Nayla!
No, I’ve determined it’s on singles or the direction the plies are twisted…! It’s so fascinating. It’s funny because it isn’t noticeable, but also it is…haha.
Your outfit is perfection! 😍😍😍
Ahhh omg thank you so much!!
The slip-over looks amazing.
Thanks so much Tina! I am in looove with it!
Lovely projects! ❤
You should take a look at the Hobbii friends wool! I got some to make that exact weekend hat in a bright green and it might be a better color :)
OOH that does look really good! That will be such a beautiful hat!
Great podcast, and yes the sound is definitely better, I'd stick with the mic!
I know, I think I need to get one for myself! I even did some audio editing and learned so much just in a two-minute video tutorial 😅
I’m knitting rumpilstiltsskin shawl right now
Definitely check Filcolana Arwetta for your green Hipster. I made a sweater with it held with Tilia in the same colour and its amazing. I have a Hipster planned with my leftovers (with two strands of Arwetta). Galt House of Yarn in Canada sells it but I am not sure if they ship to the US. If you can't get it but really want it let me know. Arwetta is a great sock yarn and Tilia is the softest mohair I have found so far.
I found the color Juicy Green in the Peruvian Highland Wool that I might try! Thanks so much for the Filcolana idea! I have Tilia in caramel for another sweater and I'm so excited to use it!
@@truelaneknits great! Looking forward to all your future projects! 😍
I just finished a hat using filcolana arwetta in apple green - i think they have that colour across a lot of their bases and it looks more similar to the green you lost 💚🌿
Ooh thanks for the recommendation!
Also - you could use the striped top as a slipover, if it is too short on it’s own
Right, that’s what I would do but it’s too form-fitting…we’ll see!
Somebody may have already said this, but in one of her recent episodes, Roxanne Richardson talked about why yarn knits up with the one column. Has something to do with the plies. I agree...not nearly as nice as stockinette Vs :)
I can't wait to watch this!
I just bought same yarn to make your vest 😂✌️
OMG you are going to love it! Enjoy!
Andrea mowry has a great left lifted increase tutorial fyi…. ❤❤❤
Ooh I'll have to check it out! Thanks for sharing.
Ohhh noooo hat death😭😭😭 my condolences!!! Guess what: I'm knitting on a Hipster Hat (in a very blue blue) and a pair of socks (Kanerva) and a shawl (Flower & Fields) and a sweater (Aphra). Does this mean I'm not thinking about what to cast on next? Well....😇
Thanks for a lovely episode, can't believe it's been 6 weeks!
OMG I loooooove the sound of all of your WIPs! Now I want a blue blue hat! Thank you so much for the kind comment
that's fair because I keep thinking about a very green one; think Kaos Yarn zealous with a strand of their suri in the same color 😘-- one can never have too many hats right?? @@truelaneknits
Well, I timed myself knitting on a whim while watching this but halfway through timing myself I realized that I was knitting a sock on magic loop and adjusting the needles probably slowed me down 😂😂. I got 28 stitches but it’s probably slightly faster
Ha I love this so much! Gotta account for some errors with timing for sure 😅
Can we please talk about the fiddle leaf’s new sweater? Or did I miss the episode where it was discussed?
Not new at all actually! I crocheted it a couple of years ago out of Lion Brand Thick and Quick Wool-Ease. It's on the peace lily in front of the fiddle leaf!
Ohhhhh do you remember how much Sunday yarn you used for the vest?
Just over two skeins!
💚🧶💚
So, you are half-fast?
Sounds about right 😆
