I don’t comment often, but have to say that your style of podcast is right on and so appreciated. ❤️ It is well planned out and succinct in the presentation, and contains relevant information, stays on point with just the right amount of personalization. Thank you for all your efforts and ideas. I look forward to more!
Can I just say, thank you for keeping a photo of the pattern up the whole time you’re talking about it! A lot of knitting podcasters put the photo up for only two seconds and then go on talking about details of the pattern and I’m like, it’d be awesome if I could actually see what these details look like in the pattern while you’re talking! Also, did you make that cabled blanket/pillow on your bed? It’s so cute! Forgive me if you’ve talked about it in a podcast and I’m just forgetting lol
Bless you for such a genuine video. Some on youtube somehow manage to knit loads of pretty complicated knits in such an short space of time. You have a wonderful channel.
Oooh, I love this format. Love the patterns and yarns you've chosen. If you can do one-colour brioche, two-colour will be a snap. It's so much easier to read, and thus to fix. The Harlow hat is a great way to try it out in the round!
I don't knit, I actually crochet but i just came across your channel and your work is stunning! Your voice is so soothing and your videos are amazing!! Definitely subscribing!
The Scotsman came to puckering last year it was amazing! When we were in lockdown I was working at the vaccination site with the train line running right behind us… we were blessed to see the Queens train visit… what a site! My favourite train was the Tesco train heading to Scotland 30 containers of stock?. I used to announce it over the radio which let everyone know 7.20 pm 40 minutes to hone time ha ha ha xx
Thank you Amy for another very interesting podcast as I have mentioned previously, I love your colour choice of yarn for your various projects, I'm really looking forward to see some of them on the needles.
I have made a couple of Harlow hats and they are my go to hats to wear. I think it’s a great start to 2 color brioche. They were my first brioche projects!
Stunning colors, Amy! I cannot wait to see the gorgeousness emerge 😊❤. I will also be knitting a cabled sweater, as soon as I get my needles cleared. And some mitts… leaning towards the Hydra Mitts right now.
i was clearing my last fall knit off my needles while watching this LOL, and now i'm trying to practice some self restraint and not buy new yarn/cast anything on until the new year - but i got a very generous LYS gift card for christmas that i plan on using to buy some yarn to knit a sweater i just found browsing ravelry for cable pullovers, called Minori by Rievive. i also have a sweater quantity in my stash that is kind of itchy, so im debating knitting The Botanist cardigan by Thea Colman while the weather's still cold. (i'm craving some intense cables LOL) i think i'll also look out for a slipover/vest pattern to knit in the late winter so i can still wear it in the spring :)
Step 1 for me is to clear my needles! 😅 After that I'm going to set up a year long lucky dip for some of my sock singles & then go from there! I have some fine gauge sweaters I've wanted to knit for a year -- just have to have the brain space 1st!
Love all your plans and I am interested in a few too, the Hazel and October sweater in particular and like the look of the Sari Nordlund shawl. Thanks for sharing. Your videos are so inspiring. Thank you ❤
I live in texas so i only have about a month left of "cold" (50 degree) weather this winter... so I am planning on making some gifts to send to my friends who work and live at a ski resort in colorado!!
I'm a Sari Nordlund fan too. You should look at Norah Gaughan - her cable designs are amazing too. Don't feel the cold these days so I'm a layering person, but nice picks.
I shop for yarn for the traveler hoodie every time I’m out. I have so many projects in my queue already but I really want to knit that one in the future!
Love your choice of patterns and yarns! I knitted the Stick Season sweater for our son for Christmas. Love it. Have knitted the Billie from Sari for myself, which I think is similar to the Aurelia. That has become my favourite sweater (but it was hard on my hands to knit).
My plans change all the time, so I'm not actually sure what I'm going to make yet. You have some lovely yarns and patterns, so I will enjoy watching your plans progress as I continue to procrastinate.
Always look forward to your podcast! I, too, am knitting the Harlow in a solid pink and a pinks /purples/blues mix from Spincycle. It will be fun to see how yours progresses!
this was very interesting to watch 😊 And gives so much inspiration 😊 Especially with the pictures, names of the patterns and the yarns you want to use. ✨😀
Hi Amy, thank you for your podcast. Knitting a hat in brioche that fits is a challenge. Brioche does not behave like ribbing I have experienced. Choose your size carefully. I gave up after two weeks of trial and error.
I will be looking forward to seeing your cable pullover come to life. It's gorgeous and seems adventurous to me because I've not done something so involved - so I'm impressed! Can't wait to see it begin to evolve. Great podcast by the way! I loved the look back and plans for 2024.
Love this video Amy, so informative! The Hazel sweater was amongst my 2023 plans but I never got around to it 😅. I definitely am revisiting my autumn plans and trying to use my stash first, but you brought the idea of the October sweater and now I can’t think of anything else 😂
Great video!! Love the yarn colors you selected. I have the Musselburgh pattern already so I'm thinking that will be my next cast on. But now you've given me so many other ideas.
Always a treat to see a new upload from you! Can't wait to see how these sweaters progress :D As a fellow WFH knitter I can attest that the traveler sweater is very comfy! I knit the crew neck version in BT Peerie which is a fingering weight yarn but I was able to get away with it by just knittig 1 size bigger. I'm sad that Peerie was discontinued :( I'm on the hunt for more so I can knit myself the hoodie version. Currently working on finishing up some WIPs (filligree shawl, oslo hat) but I will be dropping everything as soon as Pom Pom Magazine's final issue releases on January 18th. I really want to knit Elspeth Vance's "Fortuna's Wheel Pullover". The design just looks so cool!
That midnight yarn for your stick season is 😍😍 will look so nice in that pattern. The Eun pattern is one I’ve never seen before but looks like a really nice pattern. Good luck with the plans Amy!
I loved this episode and recently just found your podcast. I am an intermediate knitter and recently made a baby item from a Sandnes Garn book. I soon discovered the translation from Danish to English left A LOT to be desired. I wouldn’t buy again sadly. The yarn was fantastic though!
I’d love to learn your swatching strategies/methods. That double size swatch is intriguing. I have never swatched before and would love to learn it correctly before starting it as a general practice lol
Recently I have been swatching 6x4" swatches! I used to swatch just 4x4" squares but found I get a more accurate measurement with the larger size. It is also recommended to swatch in the round for garments knit in the round! I haven't done it myself but there are many tutorials for it out there.
So many great plans! I really love the October Sweater, I think I need to add that to my list. The yarn you’ve chosen is beautiful! And I just finished the Eun Sweater yesterday, it only took 10 days to knit! And I absolutely love how it turned out. Can’t wait to see as you make progress!
Hello! First time watching your podcast and I very much enjoyed it! Love your color palate and pattern choices, also love your style of podcasting. I’m working on a few gift knits at the beginning of the year but then my plan is to finish a Whitmoor pullover I started last year, hope the pullover doesn’t have the same fit issues as the cardigan! Thanks for the podcast!
Thanks for sharing your knitting plans! Can't wait to see your progress on these projects. I am working on a pair of socks at this time. I am thinking of trying my first pair of mittens. Also would like to make knitted knockers for donation. I am trying to use yarn in my stash.
Loved your episode, per usual. Another great video! I am in the middle of swatching for my temperature blanket. I am doing a historical year, so I've already got all the data I need and can jump right in.
the hazel sweater has been on my list probably since i first saw it on ravelry! i can’t decide what color and i don’t think i’m ready for an all over rib pattern but would love to have it by next fall hopefully 🤞🏼
omg i'm so early! thank you for the video and have a happy new year! i always enjoy your videos and they are so peaceful and good to watch while knitting!
Love your choices. I wonder how much difference there is between the Hazel Sweater & the Vertical Stripes Pullover...aside from the turtleneck. I live in FL, so I'm looking at spring/summer knits...after the WIPs are completed, of course 😏 And my plans for 2024 also include learning brioche, and colorwork (stranded & mosaic)
I'm working on a Colette pullover now and it is lovely, but fyi for folks: there's such a big gap between sizes 4 (49.5in/126cm) and 5 (56.25in/143cm) that there's not a size that fits me with any amount of the recommended ease. I’m curious if you always use a pattern to make something. Some of them look really similar to each other or things you have made in the past. Just curious why you buy patterns so similar to each other?
I get the most enjoyment out of knitting when I'm following a pattern! For me, the less guesswork, the better. I also enjoy seeing how different designers write similar pieces! Although many patterns have the same finished look I have found constructions all to be quite different.
Just watched your finished patterns of 2023 and this video. Well done! I really enjoyed seeing your plans for the yarns and patterns. I've never used 2 yarns together, must try this! My next project is the Lunenberg Pullover by Amy Christoffers. I picked up a kit while I was in Lunenberg Nova Scotia this summer while visiting my youngest daughter and will think of her as I knit. Happy New Year and Happy Knitting!!
I wish knitter would stop buying superwash yarn. It pollutes the environment with the chemicals that strip the will fiber altering its character irreversibly. We have a responsibility to make better choices as consumers as knitters and superwash yarn is the worst for our environment after acrylic. Please consider changing your yarn choices in the future. There are so many awesome wool breeds to choose from and support.
I enjoy watching your podcasts, nice episode and very great plans! I also have dark hair and eyes, and my color choices are very often similar to yours! Beautiful colors for the next projects! My main plans is sarang sweater by aegyoknit, celeste sweater by petitknit and a lauder sweater by rebecca clow (th pattern is in test now). I am looking forward to knit all of this! It will take some time for me definetely )
I don’t comment often, but have to say that your style of podcast is right on and so appreciated. ❤️ It is well planned out and succinct in the presentation, and contains relevant information, stays on point with just the right amount of personalization. I was going to ask the same question: What about the cabled pillow on your bed? Did you make it?
Love your podcasts, you are one of the best!
Thank you! And sadly I didn't make it, it's from Target! I bought it because it was cheaper than buying yarn + a pillow insert to knit it lol
@@neknits LOL I think it was well worth the money! It's adorable
@@neknits It’s really pretty and worth the money!
I have same pillow and I purchased for same reasons.
Bless you for such a genuine video. Some on youtube somehow manage to knit loads of pretty complicated knits in such an short space of time. You have a wonderful channel.
OMgosh… that variegated blue and the mohair is just gorgeous!!!! It will look beautiful on you!
I never thought about using two different size needles on same swatch. I will definitely do this in the future.
Oooh, I love this format. Love the patterns and yarns you've chosen. If you can do one-colour brioche, two-colour will be a snap. It's so much easier to read, and thus to fix. The Harlow hat is a great way to try it out in the round!

okay that Shine Bobble Sweater is STUNNING, that's so going on my someday knit list, once I have more practice with cables

One of my current wips is the October sweater by petite knit! In the dusty petroleum blue colorway from KFO! So obsessed 😍

Looking forward to seeing all your progress with these projects. Also looking forward to seeing you with Vanissia on 2nd December!
Loved your episode, per usual. Having recently knit the Harlow for my husband, who loves it as his lightweight hat, I wanted to share that the brioche does result in it having no tension or structure to it. He likes it but I don’t like how the accordion-like fabric just expands with my hair. I didn’t anticipate this fit issue, so thought I should share just in case you prefer some hug in your hat too! 😂
Oo good to know!
Oh wow the shine bobble sweater looks amazing 😍 also love your yarn choices! Very excited to see your progress on these knits ☺️
love when you share patterns!!
Lovely episode as always!
Another great video!
I am in the middle of swatching for my temperature blanket. I am doing a historical year, so I've already got all the data I need and can jump right in.
That sounds so fun!
Great choices! Thanks for the inspiration.
Great video! I love the Provence sweater. I hope to knit it myself!
Wonderful plans 😊

So many pretty knits planned. I can’t wait to see what all you accomplish.
♥️♥️♥️
I'm working on a Colette pullover now and it is lovely, but fyi for folks: there's such a big gap between sizes 4 (49.5in/126cm) and 5 (56.25in/143cm) that there's not a size that fits me with any amount of the recommended ease. I was super surprised because I've never had this problem with any of her patterns before. I also didn't get gauge so I'm following a different size that will get me the measurements I need, and that size has a few errors in stitch counts. So beautiful pattern but definitely recommend people look closely at the sizing before purchasing.
Beautiful yarn! Happy New Year 🎉❤
Amy, I adore you ❤
Love the video! I have soo many plans for this season but don’t think I can get through it all 😅 I’d like to do a Jeol sweater and a Busan sweater by aegyoknit, a Darling Cardigan by Kutovakika, and Ester sweater by Skappel x Helene Moo ❄️🤍 and a Halibut sweater by Caitlin Hunter as a gift knit 🤔 wish me luck hahaha
so many great patterns! I hope you get through most of them!
Great job Amy. I bought the Stick Season sweater pattern and I saw you plan to use the fuzzy peach fiber. Can You tell me where you got yours. I looked them up and they are dying till the end of January so I was just curious if there was another place to get it.

Hi! I love your channel :)
How were you able to find out what shop sells sandnes garn pattern? I’m in Quebec City and Montreal and would love to take advantage of LYS that sell the book!
You can search for Sandnes Garn retailers on the sandnes garn website! I am not sure if every retailer carries the catalogues, but if there is a retailer near you, you could call and ask :)
You have excellent taste in colors and patterns! The Aurelia Pullover is gorgeous. I’m knitting Payton’s Honeycomb Aran by Gayle Bunn, which is very similar. Can’t wait see your winter knits.
Plans: finish an eyelex shawl in linen for my mom, Bernadette sweater (this was almost done but I’m going to rip it out. Even though yarn was from same dye lot the contrast between them is drastic so I’ll be ripping out and alternating skeins. Also want to try a new increase!), want to create a swatch inventory so that I can put together future designs of my own including a top or two and a shawl or two from stash yarns, maybe mittens with leftover from the Holly sweater(intricate color work or penny fingerless? Vote here lol)
Ooooo I’m currently knitting the hazel sweater!! It’s coming along so nicely
What do you think of the Field Sweater by Camilla Vlaid? And her magnolia bloom??
They are both gorgeous patterns! I could see myself making the Field Sweater one day
Hey Amy! Do your superwash garments grow with wear/washing? I find mine have grown to the point I don't want to wear them.
Love your podcast btw!
Funny enough I have very few finished superwash garments! The only one I have is the Lanikai Summer tee which has gotten wider with wear but not to the point that I don't like wearing it. I think maybe in a year I'll have a better answer for you!
@neknits haha OK thx! I'm planning a superwash tee so that's good to know. :)

This is terrible, nothing but talk talk talk. Cannot imagine sitting through 30 minutes of it.
