So true actual facts. Is that a way to value a company or determine its lifespan? Does the company still solve the problem it was created to do so? Interesting..
I think it goes back to these companies going public and having to now on have never ending growth. I think we have reached a point of growth that is unnatural and it's not from innovation. Some markets can keep growing because there's more people like medical or hospitality. But there's only so many people you can get to buy a new iPhone. So what do they do? They force out independent repairs so they can charge whatever they want. It's not that they aren't skilled enough, Texas Instruments for example will not sell chips to anyone else so these repair shops can't get parts. You're opted in by default to allowing your data to be sold. Your stores pictures are being used to train ai so they can cut workers or profit from ai another way. It's no longer about providing a good service or product and innovating it. It's about screwing everyone they can in any way they can. Look at how common subscription services are now. Is that because they're better? Maybe some find it easy to have a charge automatically but many times you can't cancel nearly as easily. You'd have to send certified mail. I feel we are nearing a tipping point. Either our government is going to start regulating and not allowing them to bend people over or people will revolt in some way

It is unnecessary for him to provide a response. Being the CEO does not grant you the authority to act without considering the potential repercussions. I have never held Elon Musk in high regard, and that sentiment is unlikely to change.

The dominance of a single online payment system has been grossly detrimental to competition and therefore detrimental to users. The merger should never have been allowed to go through. I ditched PP when they implemented the 2.5k fine and started banning accounts of political figures since they had become an activist company that had too much power and no regulatory oversight.
The PayPal story is like a rollercoaster ride through Silicon Valley-full of twists, turns, and apparently, a secret plot to overthrow the CEO. Classic startup drama.
Also involved in a lot of nefarious organizations. I keep telling folks don’t go there. Venmo is also a spin-off of pay pal. People do your research to see who are dealing with. Glad this post came to light.
Man PayPal is dog shit these days. They locked the account I have used forever claiming fraud when I literally used it like once every 6 months to buy games off Fanatical since the foreign currency charges were cheaper than my bank. They demanded a bunch of documents I am not going to give them so it can get lost in a data breach and refused to talk to me when I asked them what was going on with my account being locked.
That sounds familiar, froze my account then sent me an email asking me to photocopy both sides of my credit card and fax it to them. Yeah, a multi-billion dollar company asking users to do that on an individual basis. I don't think so. Then the problems of trying to close my paypal account. Years later i'm getting a monthly debit on credit card, authorized thru paypal (it's website membership for my favorite football club, so i can live with it).
@@davemurphy9468 Yeah they wanted pictures of our IDs and social security cards plus proof of address. Like everything you need to steal our identities. They are associating themselves with a lot of sham Asian sellers, too, with dishonest websites making them look western. It's causing me to lose trust in the service.
PayPal should be doing quite well. They charge companies $20 for charge backs and if a refund is given to a customer, PYPL still keeps the discount fee(s) charged for the original sale. Raking it in any way they can. At least for last couple of years. Did not do this in the past that I know of.

I have to say the production value and scriptwriting on these videos is outstanding.
I can see from experience how long these videos take and the little easter egg touches are superb..Especially in the opening title outro with the Paypal confirmation.

Adobe and their subscription scandal is another good topic. They are forcing business accounts to keep paying by disconnecting in chat and hanging up on phone calls.
Yes I can confirm this is a very real and serious issue. As a company owner I could not close our Photoshop account because the account was created by a previous employee (but under our business account, only time their name was used was for the billing info)

The dominance of a single online payment system has been grossly detrimental to competition and therefore detrimental to users.

I ditched PP when they implemented the 2.5k fine and started banning accounts of political figures since they had become an activist company that had too much power and no regulatory oversight.
It might seem weird, but this channel is one of my comfort channels.
it's pretty cool - from the storytelling to the video quality!
I'm hoping for another video soon
I just closed my 18 year old PayPal and eBay accounts. Hate them both equally.
Finally you came back with another video about some sort of company because last video was kinda off
The PayPal story is like a rollercoaster ride through Silicon Valley-full of twists, turns, and apparently, a secret plot to overthrow the CEO.
Claimed because my husband and I both used it that it was fraudulent. The last 9 years we had done so was fine and me legally changing my first name over a decade ago also required no proof unlike my actual bank.
My son had the same problem, it wouldn't even recognize his debit bank card in the end, said he was doing fraudulent activity on his account, he only used it to purchase a few CD's off e-bay 🤔
Imagine what Elon is gonna do when if he becomes Trumps Shadow President and gets his hands on the national budget.

PayPal are awful. Their customer service is horrendous and they need to go.
Fr?
Why are they bad?is it money related?
Holding user money for years with no basis
A good example of this is what happened with Belle Delphine
Because it’s up to politicians to decide on what’s legal, which implies what’s moral. Not some business who holds people money deciding they don’t like how you made your money. You can dislike the industry all you want but what pay pal did was not right
I got rid of my paypal account ages ago. There is no need to go through a third party for doing business online?
this honestly depends on your location a lot more than anything. Without paypal I'm kinda unable to interact with most things on the internet in terms of purchasing
ahaha you think visa/mc aren't third parties? even a carrier pigeon is a 3rd party
Even if you take card payments on website could be done through Stripe without you even realising
I use it almost daily. Makes my internet purchasing a breeze.
u already are what do u think visa and stuff are sorry to tell ya but fees from visa and master card are also rising and since banks don't own their own payment processing visa and them have all the power to do what they want
Paypal is pretty shady these days ngl, i only use it for direct payments at foreign websites like amazon, ebay etc.. or if i get money to my paypal account i transfer it instantly to my own actual bank account. Even in the future paypal will only be a middleman to me, nothing else. Interesting video though
Why does every financial story start off with 'an oppressed Jewish family? '
Because they love violins 😂😂😂6 years and ypu best remember but 500+ years and it must be left in the past make that make sense😂😂😂

The even darker side of this story is this video contains completely regurgitated material you've already heard. Nothing new to see here.

All scammers claim that their accounts have been frozen "for no reason".
Had it happen to me. Claiming I was a Ponzi scheme. Seized money for 6 months. Provided no evidence. Eventually returned my money. I took it out instantly. Next day they made the accusation again. They are in more than 4 court cases for this.
My mom’s account got frozen for receiving too many payments. She works 3 jobs and has many clients that all pay her individually. PayPal absolutely screws over regular hardworking people every day for no reason.
True but Paypal sometimes really does that bs they freeze your account and you can send them what ever proof you have that everything was legit still it will be frozen till you drag them to court
@@Paulin-b5s Happened to me. The day they unfroze it (after 6 months and no explanation or proof), I withdrew the money SO fast. Literally 24 hours later "We are freezing your funds ...Ponzi scheme". WTF - you had it frozen for 6 months, so no transactions and now want another 6?
