Thanks. You cover a very important detail that's overlooked in the many other videos on how to remove the auger and/or agitator in a GE washer-- the screwdriver step involves piercing a thin layer of plastic inside the auger. Once I understood where the bubble and hole needed to meet, I was able to put the screwdriver at the edge of the hole & turn the auger til it kind of fell into a recess. The bubble aligned, so knew it was right and pushed through.
Thanks for the video!! I could not find anywhere how the hell I take out and put back the agitator! not even on the manufacture site.... thanks a ton!!!
This video helped me so much!! Apparently when the guys came to install my washer they didn’t follow any of these steps. My agitator kept coming off during wash cycles causing a whole bunch of noise! This took all of 2 seconds to fix. Thank you for this video!!
Great vid ..I took my agitator off and it’s not broken( spins in hand correctly like you said) it was super loose then it stoped spinning? Could it be the motor ..it washes but it’s not spinning ?
Hello I don’t know if you see my message but I have a question I bought same washer but I’m guess I was supposed to install agitator did long story short it was off end of washing will it ruin the washer washing without it
They installed a new agitator, but after washing the first load in the washer, the agitator wasn't secure to the bottom. They're asking if they just ruined the washer @@philiprollins2278
Hi there Just wondering how you made out. My washer also does not have the hole or nipple. All I have is two slots on the base of agitator plate. Is that like yours? What did you do? Hope you get this!
Does anyone know if there is a new style for this? I have the screwdriver stuck in there but the only way to remove the agitator seems to be to break it. It refuses to turn clockwise or counter clockwise

Thank you very clearly explained
thought about using a strap wrench, didnt have one. made one using a hefty zip tie and vise grips. stood in the washer to hold the tub and POP.
removing the agitator. wish i could post a pic here
yea i couldnt get it to turn. bent 3 screwdrivers before i decided to replace it all as an assembly. not worth the hassle for this warranty claim lol
I lined the hole up with the nipple, but the screwdriver will not go in.
U gotta press it through. Hit it w a hammer to break it through if u have to
Good vid I'm fighting this right now.....
Good but
This washer, sounds like washing , no auger do not move ???

I don't understand ur question

I cant get it out I inserted the screw driver and even used the strap won't turn. I even used my legs to turn and won't budge.
So I have to puncture a hole in it?
We have Same machine ..no holes anywhere or small bump to line up..Frustrating as hell..lol Can't figure it out..

What was your result? I am in the same situation right now..
I've got one with no hole, and no bottom piece with the nipple... Just 2 holes in the agitator base
How are you supposed to find the nipple
