Owned one (Twin motor performance Ultra) for 6 months now in the UK and adore it. The combination of tech, performance and build quality is unrivalled at this price point.
Eric, you had me at Scandinavian, do they include an Allen key with it? On a serious note it looks like a great vehicle. The price points are really well done, nice that they’ve got two trim levels or three trim levels I guess but for Power it looks excellent. I agree with you for a heads up display that would be the next thing for them to add to this looks like a great vehicle. Thanks for the review. I’ll be looking forward to your next one. Thank you.
The reason the proximity key doesn’t sometimes work is if it’s already unlocked the car, it will lock it again if you don’t open a car within a min or two, and once it’s repeated this a few times, it keeps the car locked until you pull the handle (so it’s not constantly unlocking and locking as you keep walking near it).
Technically, you are correct! And I remember it as I have been in one as well. I had meant to say it was the smallest electric, but somehow brain and tongue were not in sync. Thanks for the comment and correction.
Love the car, but for the price, not really a game changer for most consumers. I cannot wait for more EVs in the game changer category. Thanks for the review!
Where things need to change is how people understand pricing of vehicles to be. You can never fairly compare the price of a gas-powered vehicle to that of an EV by using the retail finance or leasing price alone. And frankly nor should anyone because each and every month, the total cost of owning a vehicle goes well beyond the monthly payment. A gas vehicle will have a lower sticker price, but an electric vehicle will cost much less to charge compared to filling up. It will also require less maintenance ongoing, thus adding more savings and, depending on jurisdiction, more EV owners are finding insurance companies willing to offer policy premium discounts based on their choice of powertrain. If someone spends 15 or 20% more for an EV compared to a comparable gas vehicle, but then saves about 80 or 90% by charging overnight while they sleeps instead of gassing up, and doesn't need to have oil changes or other common maintenance issues...when you take a big picture look as we should...is it REALLY a cost issue for EVs? Or is it, in fact, a perception issue?
I've had a twin motor ultra since May this year and it really is a cool little car. It does take time to get used to new, my big struggle was being unable to change forward & backwards without having the car at a complete stop, l had developed lazy range rover habits of sliding through neutral to forward or reverse while the car is still slowly moving. You can't do that in a Volvo (and that's a good thing!)
There are a few unique things to get used to for sure. Based on my age and the fact that my career started in radio, I still dislike how I can't get AM radio in this vehicle. I've only worked for AM stations so I'm not used to having to resort to other ways to listen. But it's a great little EV overall! Thanks for the comment.

Hi. Thinking of getting one, same spec, have you had any issues with yours and what is real range like? Thanks in advance, Simon
Also, is the 0-60 time of 3.6 correct? I’ve not seen any reviews where they get under 4 secs

Right, I forgot to mention that some assembly was required... ;)
I always appreciate your support and feedback!

That could likely be the reason. But that makes my argument even stronger for a more traditional FOB where we have better direct control.
It's not Volvo's smallest vehicle ever produced... That was the C30. I've had one, it was a quirky little 4 seater.

Did you have the car in performance mode for the 0-60?
I did, yes. Given the low-tech way I recorded things, 4.08 is probably the time I should expect. Bottom line is that this little thing is quick!
I'm not driving any car that requires me to place a card on the console
It doesn't require it if you have the FOB instead.
