He works really hard to craft a song. He’s passed on some time-constrained appearances because he wasn’t sure he could deliver a well written song in time
Yup, the soundtrack of my life. Coming of age in So Cal in the 70's. I've been a fan since the early days, decades. Wonderful poet and artist. Loved the shows at the Santa Monica Civic, Loyola College, UCSB ... everywhere. The words and music speak to me like nothing else. Even today at 66!

When I start flipping out about anything, I just listen to Jackson Browne, and he brings back instantly. He is the best drug for me.💛
From that great album "Lives in the balance".Completely different to his earlier albums but equally as good.
I am always amazed by your lyrics! And, I am just repeating something said so often. BUT, I now have to add that the older I become.....at 60 now.......time running out, time running out..... this song means so much more, as do all of your lyrics, as time now is now moving at warp speed; or so it seems. You were from what I have heard & read the Golden Guy.....in Laurel Canyon. YOU have the GIFT... many people can make music, but you ARE the Storyteller, The Old Sage at 14, the Gift we all wish we could only be near - and we are - because of your music! Should I dare say, you are the Poet Laureate of my generation? Thank you for all the shadows and glimpses into your heart and mind. And, may I add that YOU always made us feel & THINK; about the world, our place in it, and how we can even at 60 make it just a little better for someone else. I used to play a Yamaha Black Grand Piano for church when I lived in Memphis age 13-almost 16. I have always wanted one. I saw what you were playing here! I knew his songs since 2000 when I first encountered Running on Empty, But I really FOUND him 2012...This one, Barricades of Heaven and many more just touch you and you can find so many meaning in those lyrics..Music industry does not really show appreciation for the lyrics..shame. JB I hope u still could make a tour on europe one day..
