ULTIMATE Superman's Repowering scene from Superman II Richard Donner Cut

  • By taking the Superman 2 Richard Donner cut that was deleted out of the theatrical cut I edited my final cut that compliments the film best in my opinion
In a way Superman didnt save humanity- Jor-El did! He left a one time back up copy of his energy/soul in case his son needed his powers back one day. What a scene that fixes that plot hole of the theatrical cut!
The scene shows how Superman got his powers back after willingly becoming human.

I realized this week that Jor-el's education was as much re-education to form his son into the man he wants him to be. Like suppose he had grown up to be one of the Deplorables? Those 10 years would break him down and build him back so Clark becomes just a persona of memory and he becomes Kal-el.
He later wants to be with Lois, and goes to his father for advice. So when Jor-el tells him to give up his powers he just does it, without thinking or consulting her. Going forward he can now be his own man.

So many great things to say about this scene. Reeve was amazing how differently he plays really 3 characters. Kal el when speaking jor el he talks more regal & proper. Superman hes condident deeper voice clark whiny voice runs & walks so dorky lol he slouches hus voice is more hi pitched & cracks at times. Love how kal el gets defiant for the first time w/ his father who he loves very much hes the only one he can really be himself w/ all his time. He gets to go to him for advice im sure they talk a great deal. Also i like how as i was saying he says " selfish after all ive done fot them!?" The finger point really shows such a dad son realism where kal el is always so polite as himself clark superman. Also reeve looks so gorgeous in that shirt & pants. We only see clark in his buisness suit glasses. Nice to see him dressed like that. Plus as great as reeve looked so jacked up obviously this was one of his esrliest scenes b/c brando shot earliest as he only did 11 days so they shot him first to get to the next 2 acts smallville & metropolis. So i liked reeve here not so skinny like the test shots but hes clearly still transitioning his body so i liked him a lot looking leaner again the big muscles were great but he was working on that aa the filming progressed. His hair is also much shorter slicked back than aa clark. Much fuller.

They said if Superman existed in the 1940s like the comics suggested, then he would have fought the fascists. I think he'd do that today. When _Superman Returns (2006)_ was coming I thought we needed him to take on a president who lied us into war and a profiteering vice president who didn't care if a million Iraqis died. Few challenged them.
If _Wonder Woman 1918_ had been set a couple years earlier when they got into stalemate, she could have changed the world for the better by ending the war years earlier. There might not have been a Russian surrender leading into the Russian Revolution and 70 years of a communist regime. But they didn't have the guts to change history.

Know what? Let's say this hadn't worked. There would be another way. He had to still remember that Kryptonite would destroy them. And there has to be some around, right? He could probably tell underground scientists and rebels about this. Well, that's sort of what is done in Superman 3 but they didn't gather all the right ingredients so Superman changed from good to bad. I doubt that same stuff would change those three from bad to good.

Nicely done, but in all honesty, not a necessary scene. In the theatrical release, as soon as you see the crystal light up in the snow, and then in the next scene he's Superman again, it doesn't take much to put two and two together. We didn't really need to hear Clark getting a lecture from his deceased Dad first, and we didn't need to see the Crystal using it's power because we already saw the powers it had in Superman 1.
