- These fire stations were in Lake Zurich Illinois.FIRE station 1 (321 S Buesching rd,847-540-5070)the fire chief and Management assistant Jennifer Sprow,wasn’t too welcoming.. The fire chief tried to insinuate that I FORCED my way past Jennifer. At fire station 2, Kyle and Jeff were just Paranoid.Jeff more than Kyle tho.
The awkward face he made when you said " are u the chief she's going to get...she jus walked right past you" 😂😂😂😂

There has to be someone in the firehouse at all times some even make at least 2 stay there at all times for this reason. That is exactly why at least 1 of these guys stays on site at all times.

As a firefighter, these firefighter’s behavior is absolutely appalling. This chief should have immediately introduced himself to the citizen, offered a handshake, invited him in, and asked the citizen what he would like to see and what questions he had. With that kind of welcoming spirit, the citizen would probably have given his name. The chief should have then let the crews know there was a guest, have personnel introduce themselves, and have an officer assign a FF to the guest to offer a tour and answer questions. These types of protocols exist to prevent this exact thing from happening and I know this department has these protocols in place. This could have gone completely differently. They never refer to him as sir. We’ve had all kinds of auditors, and crackheads, and boyscouts, and single moms (and single dads), and whoever, come to the station and they always get the same treatment: a riveting tour of the station and equipment by an over caffeinated, probationary FF. Any who. Any FF out there watching this need to take note of how not to behave when citizens come to the station. All of it belongs to (and you work for) them.
This is refreshing to hear after seeing what TTA just went through at this station.

This was horrible! They SHOULD be welcoming, and even trying to recruit more and more firefighters to be on their force either as a volunteer or paid. But watching this, who in their right mind would want to work for these tyrants. And that's exactly what they are, wanting to know things they don't need to know, who you are, what are you doing (you answered but not what they wanted to hear), stand here, do this, do that, jump this high, sit down this low, omg.....horrible example. I am really hoping you do a revisit here to educate them on how REAL firefighters are suppose to act with the public, if they are carrying a camera or not. xoxo Nancy

Fire departments are flying under the radar. All the shinny trucks and perfect lawns hide a lot of possible unnecessary equipment and salaries. Far from perfect.
Clearly inhospitable people at both fire houses. Then again they probably do not get that many visitors in their buildings. I can see why they were so apprehensive. The guys at the second station explained pretty well their position. I would still FOIA request the Lt's camera pictures/recordings. Just to send a message, educate them and to spark a conversation within their group of firefighters.

I heard whenever an 'on duty' agent uses there private phone to create a public record their phone is confiscated for a couple/few weeks to recover the evidence. Anyone correct me if I'm wrong. Any auditor or anyone else that catches them using their private phone to record *_MUST_* request the footage. Huge deterrent to keep them in line 👍

@barbaraharris6520 A firestation is not a public park for people to wander around anytime they feel like it. There is dangerous and expensive equipment stored there. Imagine a call comes in and there's dozens of unknown people roaming around and the firefighters are scrambling to get dressed and load the firetruck. 🤣🤣🤣

I think once an auditor FULLY INFORMS and WARNS a silly government cambacker THAT he or she just created a public record on the public's government work time and dime...they definitely NEED TO put in a FOIA request for the video/pictures. One of these people (or several) are going to delete what they took with their phone, which can then lead to an auditor getting a charge/case against them started in federal court for violation of a federal law. It needs to be done to SET A PRECEDENT and to PUT ALL GOVERNMENT WORKERS ON NOTICE that it IS a thing and IF they do it, they may face a federal charge for breaking the law.
You know they are going to have the next ones be all cheery when we know they all have disdain. They are sickening.
