    So classical. Very interesting. This was predicted by Hendrix. Read the book "Jimi Hendrix: Starting at Zero, In His Own Words" to see that Hendirx believed that the next step for rock and blues was to take influence from classical music, and combine the two to make something new. This was back in '69.

      +Cyborg Rabbit Can we call Tosin the new Hendrix? or is that too extreme?

    • @dylanswint1795
      @dylanswint1795 8 років тому +30

      simon salquist well if you feel that way I don't think it's too extreme, but I really don't think there will be a "new" Hendrix. The guitar is an amazing medium, but we just need new "artists" not new a Hendrix.

    • @dylanswint1795

      ***** I enjoy your opinion. Innovation, experimentation... it's all a result of style developed in harmony with one's self. Tosin's doing a good job of it, so it seems.

      mrbtapir yup. And a lot of others too. Actually, most shred guitar simply utilizes simplified patterns explored in the classics, i.e. arpeggios and things like that for their compositions.

    I still remember first hearing this song, it was my introduction to the band, and Tosin. As the strange layered melodies, rhythm, and crisp tonality blended together and poured gently into my ears, I felt dormant sections of my mind ignite with lucid activity. I had been playing guitar for years, but nothing like this. The way Tosin Abasi approaches music has been a major influence on me ever since. Thank you so much.

It's unfortunate that most people listen to that garbage you hear in the mainstream that's very unoriginal, and I cannot fathom why people buy into that, but that's how it is.
