So what makes this worth 1k (on regular pricing?)

Can you return it if you paid $1000 for it just before it went on sale? Walmart would let you do that....

Sorry that you pay $1000 dollar for a plugin worth $50 dollar

Something is wrong here, from 1K to 99 dollars, it only shows that in the reality it doesnt cost 1K, it is only bad marketing. Put the Channels Strip 2, 4K B and 4K E on sale with the same discount of 90% then I will believe that this is truth!

      It is therefore overstated (?)

I can't believe this has to be said but software is very inexpensive to reproduce. Every other software company that makes VSTs uses the same strategy; they set the price high, allow price memory to settle in for prospective buyers, then lower it to a price that customers will accept. Then if it's a good tool, people will make it a part of their studio workflow and a few chumps will buy it for full price instead of waiting for it to go on sale. C'est la vie.

@@FreddieFevens There is no surprise here. It's all clear that this is done for marketing purposes, but for customers it all looks like a deception and an attempt to sell what no one really needs. Due to such a large discount, doubts arise about the value of this plugin. And if I am wrong, then let the SSL make such a big discount on Channels Strip 2, 4K B, 4K E, Bus Compressor. If they do that, I will be happy to agree that I was wrong, but until now I never seen such a big discount on their Channel Strips

@@RommyLeVent There was a deal April 2023 where you could buy the SSL Bus Compressor 2 and SSL Channel Strip 2 for $49.99. Found in 2 seconds by checking my archived mail. Good enough for you?

It’s getting ridiculous the BS that some companies are going to in order take advantage of their consumers. I’m starting to really limit my plugin purchases because a lot of them are producing products with the “me too” approach (not the movement). I can tell you that my go to plugin suites are Brainwork’s, iZotope, FabFilter, UAD (sometimes), Softube, and the DAW (Studio One) native plugins; I have so many plugins installed on my system however I find that these as my go to plugins manufacturers.

And now the sale is over and it's back up to $999 across the board. I was trialing this, but didn't actually get around to using it before it expired. Paying even the sale price is a bit of a stretch, which is why I wanted to trial it first. I might buy it the next time the price comes down. Plugin Discounts had it for $88.
