- Mix engineer and producer, Joe Carrell, brings you and in-depth overview of the SSL X-DynEQ plug-in and how he uses it in a country-rock track .
X-DynEQ builds upon the renowned X-EQ 2 plug-in and gives you a definitive tool for dynamic equalization during recording, mixing, and mastering. It draws upon SSL's extensive legacy in EQ innovation developed over decades of designing analogue and digital consoles, making it our most advanced EQ plug-in to date.

Joe's tutorials are always killer and by the demo, it appears SSL knocked this out of the park! Can't wait to grab this piece! Cheers
Thank you🎉
"Solid State Logic, I get excited just saying the same." So relatable. Thanks for sharing your expertise!
Hahaha. Thank you for watching
I like how you compare the parallel function to the Manley Passive. I just flipped on the switch in a post session and you weren't lying. I hear the tubes vibrating.
Great stuff, Joe
Best wishes!

So far ahead
This plugin came out like few days ago and i was wondering who was amongst the first to give a quick review of it. And you gave us a 30min deep tutorial! I love your energy and the fact that you're taking on your time to share your talent and knowledge. Thank you so much for that 🙏
(By the way, still on sniper mode for additions to your Them Dirty Roses video 🤞).
WE WANT MORE 🤩
Haha thank you Steve! I should try to come to an agreement with their management and see what we can do with those guys because I love them too. Thank you for watching and have a great weekend!
@@InTheMixJoeCarrell You too!
Amazing! please add option+drag to set the Q. and an option to freeze the max level reach by the FFT

🎉🎉🎉
Okay, that Focus fonction at 19:09 is very nice, indeed!
Absolutely
like it... thanks Joe
Thank you Howard !
VERY GOOD HAS ALWAYS...
Guess i gotta give it a go.
Absolutely! Best wishes
Can you change the slope of the line - 3, -4.5, -6?
Beautiful UI, but damn shame about the CPU usage. Not sure if a bug or just poor code, but with one dynamic band it's pulling >10% cpu on HQ, and still around 3% on normal. Add more bands and it gets completely out of control, and that's with just one instance. Kirchoff / Pro Q3 I can have way more dynamic bands and still be at 0-1%.
Is this out yet? I haven't seen it in my bundle😅😂.
Yes sir! Launch SSL updater and take off 🚀
any side-chain to drive the compression?
Yes sir. I ran out of time to cover as much as it’s actually capable of. 😂
take my money
Haha right! Fantastic bundle
i think it's not a good idea to have the level of the listen band option relative the the gain of the band
