I remember when I first heard this song, I was with the love of my life and we were very happy, at the time. I forgot about it, for years and happened across it by accident, a couple of months ago. It bought back good memories and made me appreciate, how fabulous ELO, truly are.🤩😍😘
Jeff Lynne has an inherent knowledge and ability to replicate any genre of music, so as a fan that grew up with ELO, I can tell you we waited with baited breath for their new album as you would never know what magic was about to happen, but you new it would be spectacular. Fan4life.
I just saw ELO live in Philly. Jeff Lynn is such a legend. My favorite band of all time. The hits are endless but here are a few that come to mind right away. Turn to stone Can’t get it out of my head Evil woman Strange magic Livin’ thing Telephone line
I had all their albums back in the day. I was in my early 20's back then. All of their stuff is quite unique, one of the reasons I really liked them. If you like guitars "Goodbye Stranger" has a great guitar solo at the end. Rabbit Hole alert!
This song is fun disco ear candy, but it’s far from the sound ELO is well known for. You might want to check the long version of Mr Blue Sky. You’ll recognize Baby Groot dancing to it in Guardians Of The Galaxy 2. After that, they had about a dozen huge hits.
Thanks, AR.. one of those "disco/funk" songs.. but ELO did so many awesome songs... Jeff Lynne was/is genius.. hope you listen to more.. (and also.. check out "Traveling Wilburys").. appreciate your reaction!
As several have said already - not classic ELO but a great funky/disco number showing Jeff Lynne's versatility. Many other tracks to go for... Mr Blue Sky album version (the video version is butchered at the end) or if you really want a fun ride, the full four track 'Concerto For a Rainy Day' that ends with that song. It will take you on a journey... ELO is mastery of feel good so enjoyyyyy.
Very good, funky disco-type song, it's a long time since I've heard this one, it's from 1979. Some other great ELO songs are, 'Don't Bring Me Down', 'Mr Blue Sky', 'Roll Over Beethoven', 'Livin' Thing', 'Telephone Line' and 'Rock n Roll is King'. Loads more of course! The Electric Light Orchestra are an English rock band formed in Birmingham in 1970 by songwriters and multi-instrumentalists Jeff Lynne and Roy Wood with drummer Bev Bevan. Their music is characterised by a fusion of pop and classical arrangements with futuristic iconography. Jeff Lynne, the singer of ELO, formed a supergroup with George Harrison, Tom Petty, Bob Dylan and Roy Orbison and they called themselves The Travelling Wilburys. Lots of great songs, and they were active from 1988 to 1991, a roots rock band and described as 'perhaps the greatest supergroup of all time'. Great reaction, Anthony, thanks! 😊😊
You have more than a 100 fab records for your ears, this was their tip hat to disco and not their original sound, still funky though. Dive down that rabbit hole brother 🇬🇧💙🇺🇸
I see the comments and many people writting off this song as being a disco number not really worth to stop by to other than enjoying it as disposable stuff , I think theres more to it than disco
As others have said, disco ELO is not really representative. Please don't misunderstand me, I like this song but it's not what they usually do. They have a huge catalog; since you're a human living on Earth I guarantee you'll recognize some of them.
WELCOME to my high school and college years 1970-1978!!

I think one of their best songs is Fire On High from the Face The Music album. If you didn’t see/hear it, you’re missing out.
The album is very disco Discovery *GET IT*
This is the only Disco song on the album, the rest are Rock bangers and Rock ballads.

Gotta say, I don't remember this one. They have a massive catalog and this is very different from their other stuff. Keep going with them!
We're seeing ELO in Chicago Friday night! It's been like waiting for Christmas all these months. ❤
Do the song Don't Bring Me Down, awesome!
You have more than a 100 fab records for your ears, this was their tip hat to disco and not their original sound, still funky though. Dive down that rabbit hole brother 🇬🇧💙🇺🇸
He looks like Bob Ross the American painter😊
Please do more ELO~. Mr Blue Sky. Strange Magic. Evil Woman. Sweet Talkin Woman. Can't Get It Out Of My Head. Telephone Line. Turn to Stone.

Richard Roundtree was the OG Shaft and Isaac Hayes did the FUNKY theme song: ua-cam.com/video/fTU_9T5ufzY/v-deo.htmlsi=J2rsp0-Qemeo5Kvm

Great song, but not among ELO's best stuff. Try, *"Tightrope",* to get the full ELO feel.
